    Rajah Night Basketball 2018

If you've never played one of these games, basically you'll create a character, and i'll stick them into NBA 2K16, and then i'll simulate your career. You'll get control over major career decisions, and you can talk shit to the only Rajah players in the game as you each compete for brand supremacy. Oh, and your guy will automatically be awesome, because where's the fun in this otherwise?

I'll be doing four updates through the course of the regular season, followed by each individual round of the playoffs, and a full recap of the off season. If you enter a player, they will be entered into the following year's draft and I have no control over who will select you. Trades requests will be made available after your 3rd pro season, so become a fan of the team you get stuck with.

Now all you have to do is sign up with a player and we'll be off to the races. Here's the formula for setting one up. Just follow it, kick back and enjoy!

    Name (First and Last):

Position (PG, SG, SF, PF or C):

Type of Player (Below i've listed each character type. Just delete everything but the one you'd like to select):

PG: All Around, Scoring, Defensive, Athletic, 3 Point Specialist, Pass First
SG: All Around, Scoring, Defensive, Athletic, 3 Point Specialist, Slashing
SF: All Around, Scoring, Defensive, Athletic, 3 Point Specialist, Slashing, Point Forward
PF: All Around, Defensive, Athletic, Back to Basket, Face Up, Rebounding
C: All Around, Defensive, Athletic, Back to Basket, Face Up, Rebounding

    Height:

    Weight:

I'm certain this is a dumb question, but I don't need the game for this, no? Just make my dude, make choices for him, and enjoy? I hope..

I'll take 10 total entries this time, and we'll look to expand after a season if it stays popular.

The game filled in your personal details, so you’re all from pretty fantastic places. I’ll fix your height. Entered it wrong.

Actually it’s entered right. This is a pre combine draft report, so details are intentionally wrong.

So where is everyone hoping to get drafted?

To a team that actually needs a big. I seem to remember 2k16 having dumb draft logic for CPU teams.

Actually read it from my phone earlier in a hurry as from North Carolina, thought that was pretty dope. Then I got home and read it again, and dang.

Houston, where this is before CP3 got there and I can become a younger, more affordable version of him.

    Philadelphia 76ers

    PG - Jeremy Lin
    SG - Wesley Matthews
    SF - Kris Destiny
    PF - Jalil Okafor
    C - Joel Embid
    6 - Nerlens Noel

This is the team that the Process has wrought. 3 highly ranked centers and THE MAN OF DESTINY. No depth, no guards, no problem.

    Boston Celtics

    PG - JR Strickton
    SG - Kobe Bryant
    SF - Rudy Gay
    PF - Cody Zeller
    C - Robin Lopez
    6 - Isiah Thomas

When I simulate these things, I usually expect some turnover from year to year, but the Celtics lost their fucking minds and went into win now mode with two of the most shameless gunners in NBA history alongside their new point guard. If Kobe gets another ring out of this mess, then the B in NBA will be officially changed to Bryant.

    Sacramento Kings

    PG - Darren Collison
    SG - Demar DeRozan
    SF - Luol Deng
    PF - Chris Edleman
    C - Demarcus Cousins
    6 - Jae Crowder

Demar DeRozan was a HUGE pickup for you guys, and expectedly the Kings have suddenly turned into viable playoff contenders.

    New York Knicks

    PG - Tyrone Shoelaces
    SG - Aaron Afflalo
    SF - Carmelo Anthony
    PF - Kristaps Porzingus
    C - Alex Len
    6 - Courtney Lee

Carmelo is going to stab you to get the ball. Good luck.

    Dallas Mavericks

    PG - J.J. Barea
    SG - Evan Fourier
    SF - Chandler Parsons
    PF - Dirk Nowitzki
    C - C.A.F. Randolph
    6 - Deron Williams

It would be generous to say that this team sucks outside of Randolph and Dirk, and Dirk is 38.

    Detroit Pistons

    PG - Brandon Jennings
    SG - Fro Ballins
    SF - Stanley Johnson
    PF - Marcus Morris
    C - Zach Pachulia
    6 - Reggie Jackson

Sorry, did I say the Mavericks suck? I may have been a little too quick to use the word suck when the Pistons are right here.

    Washington Wizards

    PG - John Wall
    SG - Bradley Beal
    SF - Steve Hithit
    PF - Jared Sullinger
    C - Dwight Howard
    6 - Jared Dudley

Uh oh. This team is actually good.

    Other Signings:

Lebron James (SF) ----> Los Angeles Lakers
Eric Gordon (SG) ----> Golden State Warriors
Andre Drummond (C) ----> Milwaukee Bucks
Derrick Favors (PF) -----> Milwaukee Bucks

Also, in case it comes up later, the 76ers originally had the 1st pick and could easily have taken yet another center. They traded down to 2 in exchange for Wesley Matthews and two 2nds.

Ewwww. Dallas? I will grow tired getting the rebounds of the 80% of shots they will miss.

Hope I can help get Kobe the elusive 6th ring before he calls it a career.

Sucks that irl draft situations can't play out in the sim. C's should looking at 3 1's in the next draft with Bryant possibly/likely retiring.

    All Star Break Update

With half of the year gone, here are the conference standings:

A lot of the player teams are doing great! 3 player teams are in a dog fight for the top of the Eastern conference, while Sacramento and Dallas are doing their best to keep pace with the juggernauts of Golden State and OKC.

As it stands now, 5 of you are looking to be playoff bound. Now let's take a closer look at each of your teams:

Kris Destiny is absolutely killing it in his first year, easily pacing the team in points and rebounds, and ranking in the top 10 in the league in blocks.

This would be a lot cooler if the rest of his team was actually any good, but my goodness they are not.

They aren't the worst in the league, but the Process is clearly not yet close to complete.

Strickton's all around game is one of the best in the league, but the combination of he, Gay, and Kobe has been a little awkward for all of them.

Luckily, dynamite production from their B players like Isiah Thomas and Robin Lopez has smoothed things out, and thus far has them sitting pretty in 3rd place in the East.

This is Demar's team, and Cousins has taken a big step back to help facilitate that, (or because he's pouting, depending on who you ask.)

Edleman, for his part, is in the running for defensive player of the year, and is already the glue holding this surprisingly feisty team together.

This town isn't big enough for the both of them.

Despite having two prolific scorers and 3 different people averaging 7 or more rebounds per game, this team just isn't functioning, and they've fallen to 12th in the Eastern Conference.

Carmelo and Shoelaces openly hate playing together, and are locked in a game of oneupsmanship that will eventually see one of them gone.

C.A.F. Randolph has been a revelation. Openly the front runner for Defensive Player of the Year, he is striking fear into offenses across the league.

And after a trade that saw the Mavs ship Chandler Parsons to Orlando in exchange for Tobias Harris and a pick, the Mavs have been on fire.

But even if they make the playoffs, is there enough firepower here to go all the way?

Of all of our rookies, none has taken over their team quite to the extent that Fro has. He is filling up every stat sheet in sight, with a huge usage rate.

The problem is that the rest of this team is hot garbage. I mean, look at the names here. This is poop city.

Somehow Fro has them in second place, practically by himself. But is this too much of a burden for one player to bear?

Say hello to the best team in the league.

The Wizards had always been a disappointment, constantly underachieving despite tons of young talent. But with a young Hitty in the mix, they are finally reaching their true potential.

With all three of their top talents having over 4 assists per game, this is a big three that is working together in unison. And the results speak for themselves.

Yeah, that’s a flaw with 2K16. If you have high stats in rebounding, the numbers are through the roof. I’ll tinker with that before the next sim.

The C.A.F. in C.A.F. Randolph stands for Cash After Fornication. He spent time as a Saudi Arabian whore before finding out being very tall means you might be good at basketball. His manwhoring days were over after signing his first NBA contract, I tell you what.

Accidentally simmed forward without entering the 3 new people in, so you guys will have to wait one more season. Sorry!

And now let's check in on our teams:

    Philadelphia 76ers

We'll have to wait another year to see the Process take shape properly, as the 76ers were shut out of the Eastern Conference playoff race by 3 games, putting them in the sad no man's land of being the best team to not make the playoffs.

Kris Destiny turned out to be all they hope for and more, and Jalil Okafor looks like the center of the future after all, but nobody else on this team looks like they're worth a damn. It'll take a lot of work to make this team go anywhere.

    New York Knicks

Right around the trade deadline, something magical happened for this team. Carmelo, who up until that point had been waging a passive aggressive war against his new teammate Shoelaces, suddenly transformed from a selfish ballhog, to a ball distributing dynamo. Not only did he run away with the team lead in assists, but he completely transformed their offense and started playing some defense too! All across New York, fans are weeping tears of joy, and the long speculated about "Olympics Melo" has come to fruition at last. Shoelaces scooped up Rookie of the Years honors on top of everything, and these guys have a ton of momentum going into the playoffs.

    Sacramento Kings

After pouting for much of the early season, Demarcus Cousins turned his attitude around, and together with Edleman, made for one of the best front court duos in the league. This spurred a completely improbable run to the 3rd seed in the West, and the Kings' first playoff bid in who the fuck knows how long. But for all their success, this is still a team built on volatile elements. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up under the bright lights of the playoffs.

    Boston Celtics

Believe it or not, the Celtics found an identity this year as a ball sharing, assist heavy team based offense. How they got Isiah Thomas, Kobe Bryant, and Rudy Gay to agree to that is beyond me, but with Kobe laser focused on getting just one more ring, this Celtics team has become incredibly dangerous. With 4 primary playmakers, and a point guard in Strickton who is quickly becoming one of the best all around players in the league, the sky is the limit as long as age doesn't take it's toll.

    Dallas Mavericks

Randolph is a goddamn monster. There's simply no other way to say it. Leading the league in rebound by more than 2 a game, and swatting away 3 blocks a game, he has become a genuinely terrifying presence in the middle, and the attention he's taking is freeing up shooters all over the court. This is the only team in the league with 6 players averaging double digit points per game, as this collection of old men are bombing from downtown with impunity. They managed to make it to 4th in the West and the limited home court advantage that that offers. Will this be a legendary last ride for Dirk?

    Washington Wizards

The second best team in the East, they base everything around their big 3. But the most surprising element of their season wasn't from those guys, but rather from the revival of Dwight Howard, who spent the season doing the dirty work for this team, and getting the job done. This team is solid and it is deep, but it will only go as far as the Three Muskateers take it.

    Detroit Pistons

Fro Ballins and Brandon Jennings have dragged this thoroughly unimpressive team to the 5th seed in the East and a shot at real meaningful playoff glory for the first time in over a decade. But Fro has been feeling the strain, as he has averaged a disturbing 41 minutes per game all season long and has been a constant presence on injury reports, with nagging ankle and hand injuries. Do the two guards, (who the fans are calling Double Dash,) have enough left in the tank to bring gold home to the Motor City?

Now here are how the playoffs shook out. Each spoiler is a different simulated round.

Dallas choking in the playoffs.... yeah, they can't even simulate a good postseason. I look forward to the offseason, where my guy will clearly hold out for more money and a 10 percent ownership in the Mavericks. If his demands are not met, he will demand a trade to Al Wadha, the pro basketball team based in Mecca.

Since i'm dumb and forgot to enter in our three new players, let's fast forward through this offseason, and just get to what everyone's team looks like at the start of the season.

    Philadelphia 76ers

    PG - Marcus Smart
    SG - Wesley Matthews
    SF - Kris Destiny
    PF - Joel Embid
    C - Jalil Okafor
    6 - Thaddeus Young

Nerlens Noel is out, and the three center experiment is over with. Bringing in Marcus Smart was a savvy move for a team that is light on defense, but this team is still in major need of some firepower.

    Boston Celtics

    PG - JR Strickton
    SG - Kobe Bryant
    SF - Rudy Gay
    PF - Zach Randolph
    C - Robin Lopez
    6 - Isiah Thomas

Somehow, all of the creaky old men on the defending champions decided to come back to see if they could run the table for another ring. Hell, they even added 36 year old Zach Randolph, 32 year old Nick Young, and the ghost of Amare Stoudamire to make this officially the oldest team in basketball.

    Sacramento Kings

    PG - Darren Collison
    SG - Demar DeRozan
    SF - Luol Deng
    PF - Chris Edleman
    C - Demarcus Cousins
    6 - Willy Cauley-Stein

The development of their bench unit, primarily Cauley-Stein and Jordan Clarkson, has been great for this team. But the coaching better be good, because this is a team full of weirdos.

    New York Knicks

    PG - Tyrone Shoelaces
    SG - Shabazz Muhhamad
    SF - Carmelo Anthony
    PF - Kristaps Porzingus
    C - Greg Monroe
    6 - Gordy Dieng

Well look. I didn't think they had a shot in hell last year either, and look what happened?

    Dallas Mavericks

    PG - Dennis Schroder
    SG - Evan Fournier
    SF - Tobias Harris
    PF - Dirk Nowitzki
    C - C.A.F. Randolph
    6 - Deron Williams

This team needed some big help. It got Dennis Schroeder.

    Detroit Pistons

    PG - Brandon Jennings
    SG - Fro Ballins
    SF - Stanley Johnson
    PF - Ersan Ilyasova
    C - Steven Adams
    6 - Reggie Jackson

The addition of Steven Adams was the biggest free agent signing of the off season, and may blissfully get Double Dash some help down low.

    Washington Wizards

    PG - John Wall
    SG - Bradley Beal
    SF - Steve Hithit
    PF - Jared Sullinger
    C - Dwight Howard
    6 - Marcin Gortat

Literally nothing changed about this roster. If it aint broke...
