Besides his arm strangth, there's no much to like about Allen. Low completion percentage, awkward outside of the pocket, terrible against winning teams while not really facing the same level of competition as the other guys.

Being the same height and weight as Wentz doesn't make him Wentz.

Um...Tampa...you didn't HAVE to prove me right.

Can't believe GB would pass on James/Edmunds. They already have 12 picks in this draft. It's not like they were in need of more haha

James, sure. Really surprised he's still there.

Edmunds though is very overrated, imo. He's wicked athletic, but looks completely lost, continuously.

Draft is falling nicely, kinda crazy. Plenty of big players maybe falling to 19.

Still pissed about that Philly game we woulda been in a position to get James without needing to trade

Sounds like Cowboys aren't moving. Marinelli in the war room so looks like defense. Vander Esch or Landry if no James?

GB doing that makes no sense. Could have had their pick of these last few defensive studs and then back out..just to move up again?

Lions pick a 2nd round center at number 20. Probably could have waited for him the next round. Oh well. Unsexy pick was expected and Stafford needs protection.

Once upon a time he was a early first round pick. Teams don't like unsure things about first round quarterbacks.

Something doesn't sit right with me regarding the NFL parading a crippled Ryan Shazier about, on one hand they are defending themselves from all sides over concussions, player safety etc and then they reveal the true brutality of the sport by showing this as a inspirational story from their league. It's a little unsettling that a guy who got fucked up so badly from playing is limping about welcoming another young man into the whole thing.

I would argue that they reached on Wynn a bit though I guess I don’t know if they needed an interior lineman like Daniels or Hernandez.

I agree with this times 1000. It was uncomfortable. This is not to mention the incredible hypocrisy in essentially blackballing Kaepernick (a QB capable of bringing a team to the Super Bowl) for a peaceful protest, while welcoming an unproven QB who has made spouted some pretty racist shit on social media (albeit as a teenager) as a top 10 draft pick.

Now, I'm not saying Allen should be blackballed or anything. He certainly shouldn't be punished too harshly for saying stupid shit as a kid, but it certainly speaks to a double standard amongst the owners. I wonder how far Lamar Jackson would've fallen if he was a kneeler/protester? Would he have been picked at all or would the owner's use an excuse like he was unwilling to switch to WR as his reason to blackball him too?

Sorry to get political here, but I thought it should be brought up.

Alright, so as much as I wanted Derwin james in GB, I am pretty happy. They spent a lot of time with both him and Edmunds, so they must not have felt they were the right choice. Additionally, reports came out after that Alexander was their target heading into the draft. If this is true, then they got the guy they wanted plus a 2019 1st round pick. Sounds good to me.

That is 2 years away. They have time to figure that out.

They seem to like the guy they drafted last year. They also could look at signing someone or look for the guy who slips down in the draft next year. In addition they may try to hit on a guy in the mid rounds this year: Rudolph, Lauletta, Falk, White or Woodside.

EDIT: I think the Woodside kid has a chance. Scouts are down on him because he is 6'1" but if the kid were 6'4" he would be off the board today. He has a chance to do the Drew Brees thing.

Good call on that. Was reading notes from Gute's presser. GB was apparently going to take Alexander at 14, but couldn't pass up the offer of a future 1st from NO. He said as soon as they traded back, he wanted to get back in the late teens, and that SEA was the first team he called because he knew they'd be wanting to pick in the 3rd rd.

Only the 1st round, but I am impressed with those moves from Gutekunst in his first year as GM.

Yeah but you would think they will be improved this year meaning they will have a mid first rounder which means they will have to trade assets when they could have just used it the high pick on a qb this year. Apparently, next year's class is not very good. On top of all that, they ruined their chance to see Webb in action last year when they were 3-13. Any normal team would have played their "future" to see what they had. Let's not forget how hard it is to sign a free agent qb. Kirk Cousins doesn't happen often. Let's say they draft a young qb in 2020. Do you really want a rookie qb when you are in win now mode?

Cousins was the big name in FA this year but there was also Bradford, Bridgewater, Keenum, and McCaron. Those are 5 guys who can legitimately start in the NFL.

Rookie QBs don't have the stigma they used to. Teams can win with young QBs.

You are really going to sell me on Bradford, Bridgewater, Keenum as franchise super bowl quality qbs though? Come on.

Who was the last rookie qb to win or get to a super bowl?

Were you gonna sell me on Foltz winning a Super Bowl?

And Keenum was on the door step last year.

Wentz looked damn good in year 2. So did Goff.

You are making my point though. Year 2 for a qb the Giants take will be 3-4 years from now when they could have taken that guy here and been in contention sooner. I think they put themselves in a spot where they won't have a legit franchise qb in 4-5 years at least. That's if they even hit on their guy and if they are able to trade for him

Yeah but its New York. They are trying to win now. And like I said, there are a lot of QBs available still in the draft and they like Webb. There are tons of ways to address this going forward. They could even go the Vikings/Brett Favre route and talk a retiring Rivers into coming to NY for a year in 2020. (Or Ben or Brees)

They botched the whole situation. Why did they not play Webb last year when they were out of contention? Wouldn't you want to see if you have something in him before making him your future. You trying to sell me on them moving on from a 38 year old guy to another qb who will also be near 40 is a bit silly.

I don't disagree with your assessment on last year but I think you need to pump the breaks on the panic. They obviously didn't love any of the 3 guys there at the top and saw the chance at a work horse back... which seems to be making a comeback in the NFL.

Mark Sanchez got to the AFC title game with the Jets as a rookie, which was as close as anyone has gotten. No Rookie QB has won or started a Super Bowl...

Who does everyone think will go first tonight? I am thinking Guice or Hernandez. Josh Jackson could be a good get for CLE as well.

Guice or Gurley would be funnest. Hernandez would probably be smartest.

Was bit gutted we didn’t draft James but still happy with Fitzpatrick.

    Minkah Fitzpatrick 21
    Xavien Howard 24
    Tankersley 24
    McCain 24
    Lippett 25

A Juicy, young group of DBs, led by Rashad Jones.

This unit could be special next year.

Taking safety out of the equation, tight end and linebacker both make sense on Day 2.

    Round 2 -
    LB: Lorenzo Carter
    TE: Dallas Goedert

    Round 3 -
LB: Darius Leonard, Fred Warner, Shaquem Griffin
    TE: Ian Thomas, Mark Andrews

    Preference: Goedert and Griffin

I'll just be happy to put the Osweiler dumbshit in the past once and for all and finally make a pick ... in the 3rd.
