Dudleyz, Bam Bam, Ivory, and Kid Rock are also rumored.

That was the leaked list from a few weeks back and it sounds about right.

Five would be smaller than the last few years though. They had seven inductions last year, eight in 2016, seven in 2015. So I would think there might be another one or two.

They've got their headliner, a tag team, a celebrity, a woman, and a dead guy. That checks a lot of the boxes they seem to go for each year. I think One Man Gang is long overdue and was a star in the Mid-South territory. Was hoping for Midnight Express and Cornette this year but they don't usually do two tag teams.

Lex Luger is definitely due to go in.

Yeah they typically like putting in a second tier guy under the headliner like a Scott Hall, Jake, or DDP type. Luger would definitely fit the bill.

I wonder who would induct Goldberg? Only names I can think of are DDP, Bischoff, Hogan, Nash, and Brock? Not sure what his relationships are with those guys.

Seems like it's almost got to be DDP. Nash could do it but that would be weird. Hogan's return would massively overshadow Goldberg's induction. Brock is one of his more memorable rivals but doesn't do this kind of thing.

Bischoff is another guy who they should induct soon.

Bischoff and DDP can swap roles. Since they're used to that.

Or Mick Foley, because that would put a lot of butts in the seats.

Aye. Pleased for him, as he’s had his troubles lately. Never been a fan, personally, but there you go. Think most will be pretty surprised by this one, given the way he left in 99.

Yeah, I am surprised it's this year with all of his drinking issues that have been well documented.

He deserves it for what he's done for the business more so than being an in ring performer but I can see the argument for that as well.

It's great that the WWE has this forgive and forget attitude. Warrior, Savage, Jarrett. Makes me hopefully for a Benoit induction one day.

Don't forget Vince fired Jarrett on live tv while Jarrett was none the wiser.

Who inducts Jarrett? AJ? Jarrett's dad? Who?

I actually thought it was a rib the WWE put out themselves but yeah it's for real. I mean I get the whole "forgive and forget" with the likes of Hogan, Warrior, Bret but this is Jeff Jarrett. I guess it's somewhat similar to say Eric Bischoff going in. Maybe? IMO, they should have waited another 10 years or so.

    I demand that:

    1) He come out in the full Double J gear, including the blinking hat.

    and

    2) He sing the song.

And it wouldn't surprise me if they had Road Dogg induct him. Maybe he can lip sync the song while Road Dogg sings it?

The entire speech should be Road Dogg talking under the stage while JJ lip synchs over it at the podium.

So the guy who created TNA, who apparently once blackmailed Vince for $300k, who Vince even fired live on air in 2001, becomes the first ever Bullet Club member to join the Hall of Fame. Kind of a crazy induction.

WCW was a threat to the WWE. TNA was just a nuisance.

They certainly had the talent to be a threat. For whatever reason, they just couldn't get to that level. It's a shame.

Next time don't make one of the top top tier guys from WCW's dying days your #1 guy for 4-5 years. I swear to God there were so many times I would just face palm when he would win the belt. Hell he came back and the first thing he did was put a belt around his waist, the KOTM championship.

But they did have the talent they just didn't have the marketing. Kevin Nash walks through an airport, a fan asks when is he coming back to wrestling and Nash replies with I've been in TNA for 3 years.........or RVD comes back to the WWE after several years of being in TNA and the crowd chants "You still Got It".....

He never blackmailed Vince. He wanted to get paid for money he was actually owed before going out to do the job. At least this is according to Bruce Prichard on STWW.

It seems with the concussion lawsuit that the list of candidates is getting a little thin.

    Jeff Jarrett?

    Spin, spin, spin...

My friend working for Vince at the time as a &$>%#£ told me at the time it happened that Jarrett's contract was up the day before and he demanded $250,000 to appear the next day on ppv and it was paid for fear Jarrett might pull a Madusa with the belt when he got to WCW.

    Not $300,000. Not $200,000.

    $250,000.

    End of story.

I also had a friend who worked for Vince at the same time, and he told me Jeff Jarrett gave Vince his word he would not go to WCW with the belt, and he offered to drop it before he left, but Vince said he really liked Jeff and gave him $275,000 as a bonus.

For you kids who weren't around to see ol' Double J in his heyday...
My favourite part is when he does the Jarrett strut right after buddy's guitar solo, and Double J girls.

    Some songs are legitimately good.

Some songs are so bad they are good.

That song will forever be fucking awesome.

They gotta settle this concussion lawsuit quickly...

The HOF eligible list is getting a little bit thin.

Same. I could have sworn he was one of those inducted in the "dark" years before they revitalized the whole process and tied it so closely with WM.

I thought he was in before even Hogan but shit he was about as lower midcard as you get. Plus he was only a wrestler there for like 2 years.

I think he wrestled in the WWF 1984-1989, possibly some matches in 1990 as well. I know he filled in for John Studd against André post WMV after Studd quit.

/Looked him up and he wrestled for half of 1990 and had three WWF matches in 1991. He had his first WWF match in September 1984 As "Harley Davidson", he debuted as Hillbilly Jim in January 1985 thought.

Man, old Hillbilly was one of my favorites back in the day. Uncle Elmer was pretty cool too, I never really digged Cousin Luke though.

I remember him saying on Legends House that he was the only one of the group that didn't have a HoF ring.

who the hell involved in the concussion lawsuit, outside of demolition and king kong bundy, are 'big names' to get inducted? cause almost everyone else would be laughable or fall on the 'it's getting thin' side, as well.

Yeah, I was looking at the list and thought the same thing myself...

I thought Ivan Koloff was on there but I didn't see his name. In any case, cannot understand why he's still not in...

It sure seems the names have gotten more generic the past few years.

Sorta the Wrestling equivelant of MLB's annual discussion over "the hall was never about just the Willie Mays and Mickie Mantles (Hulk Hogans and Sone Colds) but about the Bill Mazorowskis and Phil Rizuttos (Koko B Wares and Hillbilly Jims)"

So anyhow when's The Rock going in?

I expect Rock will go in pretty soon. There are only so many people left who can headline: Undertaker, Triple H, Batista. Daniel Bryan could but he'll probably be leaving the company at the end of this year when his contract expires.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rock goes in next year or two. Doesn't seem like he's going to wrestle again at this point. Undertaker is probably the most likely person to headline next year with him either retiring after this Wrestlemania or them promoting next year as his retirement match and putting him in like they did with Flair.

Yeah, it seems to me that .Undertaker likely (silly as it seems) will wear that hooded robe to the ring at WM this year, lose to Cena, leave the robe in the ring like last year with the other gear, perhaps hanging the robe in the corner on the post. prompting more retirememt talk...

Then of course at Summerslam or Royal Rumble 2019, Cena and Reigns will have to fight over who is the better Undertsker beater, etc.. As the match reaches its climax..... Undertaker rides out on a motorcycle in the only wrestling gear he has not left in the ring yet, the American Badass....

Then Reigns can beat both Undertaker and Cena at Wm 35 and .Undertaker can leave his motor cycle and blue jeans in the ring and walk back to a standing ovation totally naked.

I've said for years and years that the amount of people they induct every year is ludicrous and they will eventually run out of names. There's already 200+ people in the HoF I think, how long before pretty much anyone of any note is in?

I fucking hate this line of thinking. There are still plenty of names. 5 years from now, there will be even more names. You can literally headline the HOF for the next 14 years. After that you will have the current crop of guys.

    Cena
    Lesnar
    Triple H
    Kane
    Big Show
    Owen Hart
    Chris Jericho
    Road Warriors
    DX
    NWO
    Evolution
    Chyna
    Sable

That's assuming guys like Taker, Rock, and Batista get inducted as the next 3 headliners. There will always be a pipeline. Not to mention the second tier guys like RVD, Vader, Steiners, Demolition, Rockers, Great Muta, Sid, Brian Pillman, Lex Luger, etc etc

What I meant was if he was dead then I think he'd be in and probably Davey Boy too. But he's not and if the induct him they need to wheel him out in front of the world and show everyone what wrestling did to him.

    Plus he was/is suing them.

Would they ever put Dynamite in given his reputation as a human being, Benoit similarities and the fact that he's essentially become the poster boy of everything wrong with the pro wrestling industry in the 80s/90s?

Plus his last three appearances in the media have been:

Admitting he held a shotgun to his wife's head (2006).

Discussing what steroids and wrestling did to his body yet admitting he'd do it all over again because he loved the industry that much. Also admitting to breaking his friend's daughter's legs as part of an insurance scam.

And looking like this (2016) when sending a message to the original Tiger Mask who apparently had no idea he was in such a state.

no way lol. whats the point? dynamite kid is a lost cause and loose cannon who isnt liable under WWE's wellness policy, and was mostly known for being inspiration of benoit who will never be mentioned on wwe television again. there is no point

the british bulldog would be in the hall of fame before him, and they must be reluctant to put him in considering every wrestling and celebrity seems to be pushing for it for years

Everyone respects the Dynamite Kid's skills but I don't think I've ever heard one wrestler say a good thing about Tom Billington the person. He was one of my favorite wrestlers for sure.

Go on Hillbilly Jim. Remember when he turned up at one of the gimmick battle royals (X7?) and was still in unbelievably good nick? Was so unexpected, for whatever reason I just assumed he'd become a big fat cunt once he retired.

What's the fucking point in this. He was a nice but dim guy on that Legends House and puffed up his chest at X7.

All I remember him for was for wearing shoes that Hogan bought him and occasionally saying a load of bollocks on Prime Time. I bet Stevie Richards gets inducted next year.

Billy Jack should be in because of that terrific hair. Sent from the heavens. Sensational.

They will literally never run out of Hall of Famers. The bar has been set low with guys like Koko previously. Koko literally did nothing of note his entire career. Guys like Wade Barrett and Carlito can go in in 15 years and wouldn't be thought of as any less worthy than Hillbilly Jim is today. There's a dozen headliners ready before any of the current full timers have to be rushed into it - Cena, Orton, HHH, Batista, Rock, Undertaker, Jericho, Lesnar, any of the McMahon's, Mysterio, Bryan, Punk, even Kane and Show at a push.

Yeah, with where they've set the bar for Hall of Fame induction (basically no criteria at all) there's no way to run out of people to induct. They haven't really started digging deep on the Attitude Era yet: Al Snow, Hardcore Holly, Crash Holly, Val Venis, D'Lo Brown, Too Cool, The Headbangers, Saturn, Dean Malenko, Tajiri. There are a ton of ECW guys they haven't done: Raven, Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman, Balls Mahoney, Super Crazy, Taz.

It would be different if they really tried to protect the credibility of the Hall of Fame and only wanted to induct really big stars, then they might run low inducting six guys per year. But there's literally no standard or criteria for this beyond Vince being willing to do business with them, the person not being too controversial, and them being more selective about inducting guys who are dead.

Wish they'd have done it you can't get inducted until 25 years after your first WWE match or something like that.

Well, it does seem to take years for any bitterness to end amongst folks in their company. There is probably good reason there isn't a set amount of years.

Jim getting in might be the best way to test waters with Hogan inducting him. But it will probably be someone from legends house like Gene

Yeah, a lot of hard work has gone into making the HOF more credible over the last few years, in my opinion. Reaching out to guys like Bruno and Warrior. This is a step back.

I don't see the issue with Hillbilly Jim going in. He was a big part of the company in the 80's. He was sprinkled with Hulk dust with his association with him and part of the Rock N Wrestling stuff going on back then. He was over with the fans. He later went on to manage the Godwinns and he has been an ambassador and other things for the company beyond what he did in the ring through I believe 2001. So he has done stuff beyond his ring work The HOF that has no criteria is not taking a step back by adding him.

And yeah the WWE is not going to run out of people to put into the HOF anytime soon.

Agreed. As long as they use one main eventer as a headliner they won't run out anytime soon. But i wonder how long before the brawler gets in considering he done lots besides jobbing

    Cena
    Lesnar
    Triple H
    Kane
    Big Show

Road Warriors are already in, Chyna and Owen arent going in as the main inductee because they are dead. They should both go in eventually but Owens wife is in charge if that and hasnt looked to be on good terms with WWE since then and theres some legal rammifications to get over.

Sable could be but doubt she'll be the main inductee either. Id say these are your main inductees going forward:

    Goldberg
    Undertaker
    Kane
    Big Show
    Jericho
    HHH
    Vince
    The Rock
    Batista
    Cena
    Orton
    Styles

Problem isnt so much not having enough guys but they will put some of those in the same year imo and that brings it down. They could put it up with Factions as the main headliner though so youve got:

    NWO
    DX
    Hart Foundation
    Evolution
    Shield

Dunno if any others are worthy of the tip of my head. They just need to manage it so that they dont do multiple inductions of the big names too often.

Yes! Fucking love Kid Rock. That medley he did a few WrestleManias ago was awesome. Plus he contributed to Undertaker's theme once. Very happy he's gotten involved with my other love WWE. Looking forward to his induction.

Does this mean we get to see the return of biker undertaker to induct him?

Kid Rock going in was surprising. I'm not even negative toward it. The only negative I could even think of would be that it's kind of lame that their in-house guy Jim Johnson isn't in. In terms of bands, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Saliva, they had some pretty iconic songs that went with a bunch of video packages and themes to ppvs. It always felt like every Saliva single was made for a WWE event of some kind.

I'll be honest man I haven't really enjoyed anything of his as much as I enjoyed Devil Without A Cause. Respect the guy in terms of being able to bounce between rap, rock, and country but I'll always dig his stuff prior and including Devil. I remember back in 1996-1997 right before Devil dropped I ordered his debut album Grit Sandwiches from Disc Jockey for like $25 it was super rare. All I even knew about Kid Rock was that he did a song with Insane Clowns back in 1991-1992 so when I heard he was doing some rock shit I was blown away at how good it was.

A great song of his, I believe off his 2nd album but they also put it on the greatest hits was "Abortion".

Yeah Grit Sandwiches for Breakfast is really good. I'd love to get his second and third albums, Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp and the Polyfuze Method, but they're very rare. I was just listening to Abortion the other day. I also like Prodigal Son

Yeah those 2 are super hard to find. I'm always shocked when someone gets to that level and they don't re-release their back catalog especially when you know they could sell enough to make up for whatever it would cost to buy those rights if they didn't own them. Like Eminem for example, I think he simply re-mastered some of the tracks on his very very first record and released them to the net a few years back. But you know that dude has the means to press up and/or upload a million copies that would sell out with the quickness.

I'm no Kid Rock fan, but the dude's totally deserving to get in there given how much they're used his music and he's performed for them and all that. He's pretty linked with WWE in my mind.

These are the type of celebrity inductions I like. Not Drew Carey. Honestly I can't really think of a celebrity inductee I'm negative about other than Drew Carey. He did all fuck of nothing. At least you could make solid arguments for Bob Ueker, Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, etc.

And why the fuck isn't Regis in yet? He should have been 1st ballot. The exposure he has given pro wrestling, I mean even after he left that show they still had a ton of wrestlers on (IDK if it's still on fuck that show post-Regis)
