The last WCW PPV to draw +10K was Spring Stampede 2000 (12,566 ) at the United Center (also in Chicago, which is kind of fun), I'm guessing it was somewhat papered though, not sure.

So this All In event will still be the first in like 18 and a half years to pull those numbers, which is very impressive.

I'm intrigued on who they stick okada and Omega with. I wouldn't expect them to go against each other...however interesting on who they stick with them. Maybe Rey/Omega?

Does it really count if Cody Rhodes bought 8,000 of the tickets himself?

I'm counting all these sheep blindly following these Indy wrestlers who are trying to take viewers away from my beloved WWE.

How do you watch this in the UK? Is it PPV on the Fite app?

Then no, as Cody would only count as one sheep.

I'm pretty sure they've said nothing of the sort in terms of televising the event. It wouldn't be smart to say you could watch it prior to selling the tickets. The "goal" was clearly to sell out the arena. Now that they have, I wouldn't be surprised if they look for an avenue to stream it.

Who's going to this? I scooped up tickets for the Cewsh Reviews crew. Tried to get front row, but the tickets literally sold out faster than I could refresh. Wound up in the upper deck just barely before they sold out.

Cody said yesterday they were exploring several options. I will have to look and see what they are doing resale price wise. I've saved up for a nice vacation tbd later this year but if the ticket is going to be a ridiculous amount I highly doubt I will be going.

I don't think they should even worry about broadcasting it. So many promotions have trouble with streaming and the whole iPPV thing. Every single ROH show I watched on iPPV fucked up. Every single one of them.

They'll make bank on just releasing it online in DVD/Blu ray form.

It's going to end up on NJPW World and whatever ROH's thing is called. No way is Okada working this without NJPW getting something out of it even if Okada and the Bucks are super tight.

Just bought my tickets on stubhub...definitely sucks that my ticket is face value 28 bucks and I spent 230 on it (180 before fees)

But this will be my "vacation" and the first trip I've taken since before my daughter was born. Super pumped

As for the show I'm hoping flip manages to win the NWA title before the show and that's how he gets booked.

That'd be smart. Don't try to air this shit live though. I don't want to read 1000 fans bitching all over twitter about how their iPhone keeps freezing up while they're jerking off to BOM (look her up...mmmmmm tasty)

Cody has said that they have done exploratory work in terms of figuring out avenues for streaming the show, but there are a lot of issues (not necessarily related to streaming concerns themselves) they have to work through before going all the way with it. They have options for making it happen, but they're not sure at the moment if it will happen.

New Japan wanted to bring Hogan in for the Dome to basically just raise the hands of the Bullet Club. He asked for $750,000. Hogan did not appear at the Tokyo Dome.

Hogan is smart enough to lower his price tag for this if cody and the bucks would have him.

I am also going to predict that at the least 1/4th of the people on this card (when announced) with end up in nxt by June 2019

You know, I should agree with this, but I have this very weird feeling that we may see more WWE guys jump ship. The reality is Finn, AJ, Naka and others can go to NJPW to get paid more with less dates. Honestly, it wouldn't shock me to see some of the women leave. They have done fuck all with Becky, Sasha and Bayley this year. It is a total guess/hope, but WWE is slowly losing some of its power. Yes, Raw is gong to make a shit ton of cash, but no one wants Smackdown. That is really odd to me.

Not the way I’d go, but would it be hard to get Jim Ross in? He's excellent at PBP and has that feel for the audience. It would give All In a bit legitimacy to many out there.

i wouldnt go that far, but he does sound insanely unenthused and going through the bare minimum, at best.

Reason why i say that is because there were reports he was drunk at a show recently. It was one he did with an mma fighter doing color. And not passing judgement at all on the guy. He adored his wife until the ends of the earth and i couldnt imagine what i would go thru losing a loved one like that.

I think he's been disillusioned about the product for a while even before his wife died. He comments positively on some stuff online, but it is mostly negative. He's been through a lot of shit before hand like Bell's palsy, being fired multiple times and having both Vince and WCW mocking him. He's reached breaking point I think.

Staying out the limelight and focusing on himself is what he needs.

The Young Bucks have been less than thrilled let's say about the commentary on the AXS shows.

Put Don Callis at the booth with Ian Riccabani and Colt Cabana and you'd have my three favorite current TV announcers in one place for one show.

JR is about as good and invested as Bobby Heenan in WCW circa 2000.

So what's the money on CM Punk showing up to this now?

WWE must be trying to give DB a boat load of cash to re sign. Imagine him walking out and then showing up here. Any word on Jericho?

I assumed we would all understand that I was referring to his commentary ability, which was this way years before her death.

I would say the all in show is probably the best chance of seeing punk show up. If he were game this would obviously help all in 2 maybe step up to a bigger arena in new york.

DB mentioned on a podcast that he had to go check his contract to see if it expired that day, or at midnight. He joked he'd have to wrestle in a mask, then unmask it after midnight.

Jericho remains unsigned and unannounced, but based on his relationship with Vince, I think he'd want to check and get Vince's okay before he'd appear. Vince was all for him doing the Omega match in Japan as it created a buzz, and was good for both of them.

They haven't announced the matches for the card yet, right? Because they've sold out, they don't have to announce everyone, so it'd be great if they can keep a few surprises like a Punk, Jericho, or DB to only appear and make us want another all-in show.

I'd think Jericho would work all in if Vince didnt say absolutely not. The the bucks appear to be working Jericho's cruise so I'd guess if there is any way for Jericho to be involved at All In he will be.

I think DB would be crazy to work all in. I don't see him passing up a WWE contract to work new japan and the indies. Dude has a newish baby, leaving WWE now seems like a crazy move.

He loves the business though and I'd assume he could make great money still if he left WWE. I'd say of the three you mentioned he is the least likely.

Punk however, I think the chances he at least shows up is pretty high. He was at the press conference and is doing a meet and greet with pro wrestling T's in Chicago that weekend. He is also pretty close with one of the bucks (matt i think) and apparently they talk weekly. I would be really surprised if he got physical at all but I think the odds of an in ring promo are pretty good.

Maybe wishful thinking since I'm a Punk mark and I'm going to be there but still the stars seem to be aligning in the right way. I'm not going to be disappointed if he doesnt show up though.

I haven't seen anything but the guys teasing that at an ROH show. Even mentioned msg for a location.

I'd hardly say it's a confirmed fact that it's happening though

Cody announced it at a new york roh show. I mean they havent announced a venue yet but its gonna happen.

MSG could very well happen as Vince has pissed them off not running any big shows there

Jericho isn't signed to a WWE deal. Dude can (legally) do whatever he wants and wrestle anywhere.

If there's any blowback, oh well.

Also, New Day vs. The Elite dudes is a damn Street Fighter 5 match and not a real wrestling match.

Which is still pretty cool, I guess.

Doesn't Vince have that deal with MSG anymore? Say that Cody tried to book MSG for November 10 for AI2, then MSG would have to ask WWE if they want to run a show on November 10 before accepting the Cody/All In booking. Not sure what that kind of deal is called, right to first refusal perhaps? Both Crockett and WCW ran some shows at Nassau Coliseum and the Meadowlands but never MSG because of the Vince/WWE deal.

Of course this is some old ass deal back from the Vince Sr or maybe even Jess McMahon days. Not sure what's the status today.

I don't like to shit on him but I agree with Cewsh, in that his wife's death has nothing to do with it. He's been pretty bad for years now.

And thinking about it, I'd say he's been average every since he stopped being a regular commentator for RAW. When he was there week in week out, I think maybe he himself was able to be invested in the stories and then project that to the viewers. When you just show up every now and then, and have to base all your verbal input off of prior research, it doesn't sound real.
JR today just doesn't sound like he really cares.

Even on Jim Ross' worst day he's still better than 90% of the commentators I hear today. That's not to say I disagree with the knocks on him but some of the criticism is just laughable. And it definitely feels like the "hate" has amped up a little more after that thinly veiled Tama Tonga bitch fest. I took those comments as like some young boy at an indie show seeing 60 year old Haku in the ring looking nothing like Haku from 1988 and running him down. You're coming at a legend, someone who has done more for the business than most will ever contribute, ever.

The main things we hear from him are taped, so that definitely takes the edge off the experience. That's the case both for the viewer and the broadcaster. Then there's the learning curve he has to go through for the actual live performances so that's tough. He's clearly lost a few steps, but he's still enjoyable to listen to.

Exactly. And I'll be honest, I'll hear guys like Kevin Kelly and Don Callis and they're well prepared and everything yet they still lack that emotion. The emotion that someone like JR or Vince McMahon or Joey Styles would give you. The emotion that Gorilla, Bobby the Brain, Jesse the Body, even Macho Man. That's why I like having Booker T around, he doesn't sound forced or very scripted at all haha but the emotion sucks you in. Corey Graves is a great heel commentator, so I'm not shitting on EVERY "new" commentator. Mauro is incredible as well.

But I mean, I can seriously can't watch Ring of Honor these days without going the extra mile and mentally tuning out the dogshit commentary team. TNA, same thing. Give me Jim Ross fumbling over not knowing every single wrestler on a New Japan card (especially when half aren't even mainstays) and Jerry Lawler talking about titties any day of the week. And if you want a new guy, Corey Graves is the fucking shit so throw him in with Mauro and Nigel from NXT.

Kelly and Callis were on point with the main event from this weekend. I think they do a good job of appropriating their delivery based on what's going on within the card. Like they're not going to be at a 10 for a six-man match that's in the middle of the card but they absolutely will be for the main event if it's warranted.

As part of Sinclair's plans to grow Ring of Honor and take advantage of a "very passionate fanbase," Ripley said the promotion's events are starting to take place at large venues. A show set to take place this year in Chicago sold out 10,000 seats in less than an hour.
This was an interesting comment to make.. Surely All In is no RoH event? I think I read Cody saying that they would enlist the help of some RoH employees for logistics and stuff, but that's it.

No there is footage of cody from an roh show where he specifically mentions all in 2 and that it would take place in new york but thats as far as its gone. I figure you wont hear much more about it until all in chicago gets closer.

Maybe if MSG didn't charge astronomical fees to put on a show they wouldn't have this issue. That's why they're losing WWE and music acts to Barclay's, and it sucks because MSG is super easy to get to and Barclay is a pain in the ass.

According to what I read those fees are due to having pay the production crew.

He did well with Reigns vs. Undertaker. Cut the man some slack. I guess my point is Jim Ross is a 66 year old man who just lost his wife. I'm just glad we have him around to call matches, even if he has lost the fastball. I think you have to accept what you're going to get with JR. He doesn’t work regularly. Not peak JR, but definitely not terrible. Callis is great when he's not playing a character, but I'll take Ross over him any day of the week. He calls out the bad guys for being bad and has a natural understanding of how to put across a story during a match that very few can match.

We can confirm that we have decided in favor of licensing production. So 100% this event will be broadcasted in some capacity. We want as many people to see it as possible! Details in the coming weeks. -Cody, Matt, Nick — All In (@ALL_IN_2018) June 20, 2018

I don't mind Don Callis but I did fucking hate the guy in ECW. Part of it was the character, part of it was that with ECW it got a little too trendy to "shoot". I'm sure for most fans that shit got old after you watched enough ECW. I remember back in 95-96 first seeing ECW on t.v. and just being like damn they're talking some real shit! But then by like 98-99 I'm like fuck off you're owned by the WWE lol.

I do like Callis outside of the booth a lot, I feel he's done quite a bit and has a cool take on certain aspects of the business both past, present, and future.

Honestly I never could stand Callis anywhere he went. He just seemed like he’d be a douche in real life too, and I just wanted to bash his head in with a mallet. Truth Commission especially was awful. But that was also the problem with him: every angle was about him and didn't get the wrestlers over. It also didn't help that they were feuding with DOA so they weren't pushed as a serious threat. I'm sure he would've been awesome in The Ministry, but what would be his key purpose? Then I was thinking the Higher Power, but what sense would that make since he had no prior history with Austin or Undertaker? He was paired with Bradshaw and Faarooq, Hell's Henchmen, as a rib. Sometime after it, he left.

He was originally brought in to be in a tag team with Rick Martel called the Super Models. Martel went to WCW instead.

Thus ends trivia time with Defrost.

This being on the WWE Network would defeat the point of this. I'm expecting YouTube Red.

I'll be going with Cewsh, Law and the gf. Gonna be hell of a year for wrestling events for me. Glory Pro with Naito, Takeover: Chicago, and now this. To say I'm stoked really doesn't sell it enough.

Scurll vs. Okada announced today. Makes sense, fresh singles match-up that wouldn't happen in NJPW because Scurll is a junior.

I'm thinking the gimmick they go for is 4 different World title matches on top of the bill. If it's allowed of course knowing that it's streamed, though I doubt they'd be a problem if the individual companies are in agreement. Maybe Pentagon vs. Fenix vs. Mysterio for the Lucha Underground title, Aldis vs. Cody for the NWA title, Lethal vs. Page for the ROH title and Omega vs. someone unannounced from NJPW like Sabre Jr (somebody who beats him in his G1 block basically) for the IWGP title. Throw in matches for Ibushi and the Buck's, a 6-man tag with So Cal Uncensored and a women's match and you're set. Fuck, get Aries on for the Impact title too.

I know they've been talking, and he’s in the video game, but I don't think he's signed a deal to return yet.

    Now its Okada/Scurll, right?

Not sure if that's a better match or not.
