The Official forums.rajah.com Best Drama Series Ever Round 1 Poll 1

Welcome to The Official forums.rajah.com Best Drama Series Ever Tournament.

This is Poll 1 in Round 1 and features a random 10 drama series based on the list of 100 we put together last week.

Each poll in round 1 will have 10 series with the top 3 going through from each round. The two highest 4th placed series will also advance to the next round.

Please vote for as many of the series as you'd like.

Here are our nominations in Round 1 Polls 1. I've included a brief run down of them all but have only included awards that the SERIES itself won rather than any actors, directors won etc.

It's always been one I've meant to watch but I can't vote for it if I haven't seen it.

Won't this be the same for almost every poll? I mean, I'm not going to vote for a show I haven't seen?

So the winner of this will be the most well known, widely seen show, rather than what is technically 'the best'?

If somebody watched a show and didn't like it they won't vote for it, presumably. But we have no way of knowing how many times that might happen. So, Breaking Bad might be widely watched but if people didn't like it they won't vote for it and it won't move on.

BBF, you've used the American promo shot for Life on Mars.

Well yes to a degree but I've seen 7 of the 10 listed in the first poll so I'm picking my favourite of those. The most widely watched ones will eventually have to face each other eventually which will lead to decisions being made past the point of 'which has been watched the most'.

Also, as I said in the main thread, this is about opening up some new dramas to people as well as ranking them.

    Donald made this point yesterday.

I liked it quite a bit, but think it is a little overhyped to be honest.

I'll vote it through to the next round, but if I were only allowed to make 1 selection, Deadwood wouldn't be it.

I voted for Law and Order. I don't watch a lot of t.v. so most of these I've only heard of or seen a little bit here and there. I'm looking at these pools as a way to check out "new" shows. I've never heard of Black Mirror. Only saw 1 or 2 minutes of Breaking Bad. Obviously BB is super popular but there's just too much meth in my city to want to watch what looked like a biography about 19 white dudes I knew back in the day.

I understand this, but could any of your friends throw a pizza perfectly on top of a roof?

You are missing out on breaking bad if you are holding it to such an example. The show had phenomenal acting and writing.

Even the pizzas in BB are better. They don't cut into slices, so they can pass the savings on to you.

Breaking Bad is also the strongest show I've ever seen continuity wise. Amazing attention to details.

Are we doing spoilers in this thread? What's the forum accepted timeframe for me to spoil shows?

I'm just not super into t.v. shows to begin with. Mad Men was another big show on AMC that people were really into. I watched 1 episode, it was lame.

You know what show I want to see that was very popular? The Wire.

Cocksucka! Deadwood is phenomenal. Cut off in its prime. Brilliant characters, great dialogue. I must to use the phrase “loopy cunt” more often.

Throw plot points in spoiler tags. Best to be cautious.

Law & Order at 456 episodes is bonkers. Probably the best procedural of all time.

I hope the Deadwood movie happens. We were robbed when we never got a conclusion to the show.

I feel like I read something at least once each year saying the Deadwood movie has been greenlighted (greenlit?) and then I don't hear anything else.

The rest of these are coming in the New Year. Work is manic at the moment and with the POTTY running too there are a few too many polls.

Wasn't able to vote but I do agree with the results. Breaking Bad would be my choice here followed by Deadwood then Black Mirror (though I'm not sure if I would call it a drama). Newsroom is good stuff and Life on Mars is one thats been on my list to watch forever now.

New Black Mirror is going to be bonkers.
