However, the movie will be won or lost based on how interesting the unseen monsters turn out to be, and the story around them. The family living in silence is a cool set up though.

The trailer for Cena's new movie had me in stitches when I saw it.
I can't recall a bad Liam Neeson thriller, and I take that to be because Liam Neeson is just awesome and a delight to watch.
I could have done without the Taken sequels (first one is a classic obviously). But I knew that one you posted would be a great trailer from just seeing the still shot of Liam before you hit play. That look on his face says it all.

Watched that 'Blockers' trailer a few weeks ago and didn't even smirk at any of it. 'Rampage' looks like it could be a turn-off-your-brain fun time but doesn't have me particularly interested especially after i just watched 'Kong: Skull Island' and already saw big CGI monsters, one of which was a gorilla, fighting in a turn-off-your-brain fun time.

Just finished reading this book. Very interesting story and she named dropped a lot of A list celebrities as players in her poker games. Leo, Toby McGuire, Todd Phillips, a bunch of Wall Street guys, the son of the owner of the Dodgers. At one point she was making $50,000 a night in tips. Great read and I'm looking forward to the movie.
A biologist, anthropologist, psychologist, surveyor and linguist head into an environmental disaster zone and stuff gets weird. I hadn't heard of the book until now, but it seems to have good reviews. Though the producers lost confidence in whether it's going to have mainstream appeal.

Annihilation was being talked about in the Ramble On thread. I'm really excited to see it. Unfortunately, the film will only be screened in theaters in the United States. It's being released internationally through Netflix. One of the producers for the film found the film "too intellectual" which led to this release strategy.

I rememer watching the documentary The Price of Gold a while back and that was pretty good. I think it was on youtube but its been taken down due to the movie coming out soon. Would recommend checking it out to anyone.

The books are extremely over the top in their ridiculousness. Some of the later books have 100 foot long dinosaurs roaming the ocean. Their seriousness is definitely tongue in cheek. If the movie keeps that humor it should be good.

looks fine. they showed very little dialogue by Rami Malek so it's hard to get a good read on his performance. I love Mr Robot so I hope he does well but he's very subdued and monotone in that show so I hope he can be charismatic in this.

Rip told me about this movie awhile back. At the time, I thought it sounded pretty interesting but from what I read i thought it was like a surreal serious flick or something (like 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' but puppets instead of cartoons), I didn't know it was a raunchy comedy starring Melissa MCcarty. After seeing that trailer.....I....hmm. Not sure.
This looks so stupid but I know I'll end up watching it and enjoying it for its mindlessness.
They basically remade Die Hard with The Rock but without the Die Hard name...
This is probably for the best, because how can you live up to Die Hard?

I'm super hype for the Halloween trailer that's coming out Friday. Today they released a teaser trailer which doesn't show anything but his mask and there's some audio. The thing that worries me is there's a guy with an accent like Loomis and it sounds like a bad impersonation from a fan film hopefully they don't do something lame like having a character that is the son of Loomis. Loomis made everything sound epic, I'd rather they just leave that character alone instead of trying to add his presence through a new character.
Never cared for any of the Michael Bay Transformers, but may have to give this a try..

Pineapple Express was the other one I considered posting. I remember the Paper Planes song on there very distinctly.
So this might actually be decent. Not going to get my hopes up considering what's come before it, but it looks to be following the Black Panther template of building a proper world around the hero.
I just want it to be fun to watch.
I am so goddamn hyped for Aquaman. I fucking loved Wonder Woman and was pleasantly ok with Justice League, so I'm optimistic. Trailer makes it look pretty killer and I've read a lot of positive stuff coming out of everyone that's seen any early footage. Plus, you know, he's a hunk.

I think these films are supposed to be aimed at everyone, I find the humour a bit daft from the trailer.

Aquaman trailer looks great. Definitely hyped for it. I enjoyed Justice League but I’m hoping Aquaman is that much better.
It doesn't look bad, but it seems like it could be a poorly executed knock off. To me, that kind of screamed youthful innocence of Spiderman: Homecoming. Looked decent enough, but I've seen something better.
Shazam look like it could be a good time. I dig that these DC flicks are taking a turn from the dark gritty bullshit towards stuff that actually looks like fun.
I really like that they are trying to do that as well but I feel like they might just be going a bit too far the other way based on the Shazam trailer.
Just to clarify my opinion is based completely off the humour in the trailer not being my kind of thing at all. I find deadpool cheesy and unfunny and thats supposed to be aimed at me. I hope i am wrong.
while i think it looks pretty decent, i gotta agree with how wild the swing is in tone. it almost feels like a parody movie instead of an origin story for a big superhero.
I dig the tone change in Shazam and I think it works with the character. Honestly I just think the portrayal looks to cheesy. That's the only thing that really bothers me. I feel the dude playing Shazam should look a bit more of the dashing and handsome type, because his aloofness just makes him look like an overgrown child(which, I get he is, but that's not what he should look like). The costume's a bit goofy, but I don't think you can get around that, and would probably be fixed with the aforementioned problem. Other than that, though, I'm actually really interested to check it out.

Good to know a whole new generation will be scarred emotionally. Good move getting James Earl Jones back to voice Mufasa. Looking forward to this. Really enjoyed The Jungle Book remake and this looks good as well.
I’m struggling to see the excitement about that teaser. I mean there’s nothing original in it except the graphics. I love The Lion King, I’m sure I’ll see this remake and I’m sure there will be some orginality to it but all this showed me was that they’re remaking the original shot for shot with new CGI.
The CGI looked pretty good. That’s about all you can say for this teaser.
Show me something new before i get excited.

Also, Disney is throwing all originality out the window with a new Aladdin movie as well.
And Will Smith's the new Genie. That has got to anger some people. I'm only going to be mad if Iago isn't voiced by Gilbert Gottfried. If he is a silent character, then I have lived 33 years for nothing.

Remake movies that didn't get it right the first time, if it was due to low budget or poor effects or what. Aladdin and the Lion King were perfect .
As far as these Disney remakes go, I get it but I also think it's stupid.

why are you looking at this like there needs to be something new or original? it's literally an update of a classic animated film.
and whether you agree or not, it's being remade cause there's a whole new generation of young people who have grown up with cgi as their 'animation.' there's plenty of 30 year old films youre not clamoring to see.
But why are they ruining my childhood?
Jungle Book remake was wonderful, as was Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.
it's pretty difficult to mess up the remakes when their staying as true to the source material as they are. I'm game, but I accept my inner 12 year old is louder than most people's.
