Venom Last Dance. It wasn't bad. I dig these movies but I felt like the end was extremely flat. You know Kraven was good, if it wasn't called Kraven it would've been received better 1,000%. But I just feel like the lack of Spider-Man is always going to be the #1 thing we look back and say wow, no wonder most of these movies are only liked by a small % of fans. Venom 3 ending like Moxley/Omega deathmatch. It just felt like Sony was like you know what, here's one more fuck you before Kraven comes out lol.

Do Not Disturb - Saw this on Shudder, thought it was a bit trash to be honest. It's a movie where in real life you would do the complete opposite of every decision the characters make so it was very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

    Heretic

I feel like I should watch it a 2nd time because this was a dud.

Saw Leprechaun in the theaters last night. What a stupid movie but I love it so much.

Kraven the Hunter was not good. Stupid plot, decent action. I do think ATJ did s good job and wouldn’t mind seeing him as the next Bond if they choose him over Idris Elba.

The Electric State. I feel like this movie had serious potential, gave me a Stray vibe (PS game) and I thought it looked cool. I heard it was maybe the most expensive movie Netflix has made. It was better than Heretic but could've been more impressive with that kind of star power.

I felt like if it wasn't a movie about Kraven, tied in with Spider-Man, it would've been a good movie. But when you realize like with the other movies Sony banged out, when you don't have Spider-Man, why even make these movies?

I will say this. I didn't think "Wow I just wasted 2 hours of my life" lol The movie has it's moments of greatness but I don't want to gas it up because I definitely expected more with that cast, that budget. Honestly it looks like a movie I would've loved to see on the big screen and I like the premise. If you were into movies like Surrogates you'll probably enjoy this.

    The Monkey

It was cool. I was soaked in the hype and maybe I had higher expectations because of it but I definitely recommend it.

Tax Collector - I’d give it a 6/10 but it should have been a 9/10. Not a terribly original plot - gangster’s family is attacked - but reasonably well acted. I say it should have been a 9/10 because the violence was at the right level but the whole movie felt rushed. Also Shia’s character needed more screen time, he was the best part of the movie.

Best part was the part in the van. Never seen anything like that before.

A Working Man - 7/10 - I mean it's what you expect from a Jason Statham movie. But it was an entertaining couple of hours for sure.

Death of a Unicorn - 7/10 - It was a fun time, I didn't even mine Paul Rudd in this, whom I absolutely despise.

Definitely want to check out Working Man. I’m a sucker for the cheesy genre of “someone gets kidnapped and the main character fucks everyone up to get them back.”

It's definitely what mindless entertainment should be! Absurdity all around

Statham movies remind me of Jackie Chan. They both star in (mostly) enjoyable movies, it's a good shut your brain off for two hours and watch people get punched, kicked and sometimes both at the same time while bursting through a wall. Jackie Chan is the friend you'd bring around your family, and Statham is the one you'd bring around if you don't want your family.

We saw the new Looney Tunes movie yesterday, The Day the Earth Blew Up. My wife thought it was better than I did. Humor just wasn't up to snuff for me, could've pushed some things and leaned more into certain things. But it was fun and entertaining and 2D animated films need to be supported so we can get more. Also, when the bad guy's an alien there's no reason not to make him Marvin the Martian and not a new character. 6/10

Watched "No Hard Feelings" yesterday. I hadn't seen a really good, new comedy in a while. This one was highly entertaining and consistently ridiculous. Hadn't considered it prior to and then spotted it as leaving Netflix soon. Would watch again.

Looks awesome. Nice to see some stretchy stretchness and more interaction between the family. Silver Surfer looks whack though. Stoked for this

Havoc on Netflix was insane lol. I haven't watched a movie with that much blood squib action since Rambo 4. If you want mindless, crazy action with a solid cast-check it out on Netflix.

I saw Havoc over the weekend and thought it was just ok. Tom Hardy is a stud though.

It was basically 2 hours of motherfuckers getting blown up and shot up to pieces lol. I'll be honest I checked it out specifically to see Karate Hottie aka Michelle Waterson. She had zero lines but she was bad as fuck.

Rewatched "Longlegs". Much more enjoyable this time around than the first watch. There's a lot of shit to really follow and connect, things I picked up I didn't notice the first watch. Solid B+.

I am on vacation, and we've seen the following -

Thunderbolts. I enjoyed going to the theatre more than this actual movie. 6/10

Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy - this was on Peackock and better / funnier than I expected. 7.5/10

G20 - This was on Prime and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Viola Davis as a kick-ass President. 8.5/10

Conclave - much more compelling story about the election of a new Pope, with a mean girls vibe. Very well acted 8/10

I watched a movie I had never heard of called "No Sudden Move" with Don Cheadle and Bencio Del Toro. Not even sure why I checked it out I saw it on Max and figured why not...Honestly it was a really good crime drama. It didn't reinvent the wheel of the genre but the cast was awesome, acting on point, shocked it didn't get much publicity and if I did I feel bad not even knowing about it back in 2021.

I'm going to see that movie Friendship with Don Robinson and Paul Rudd tonight. Saw a trailer a few months ago, looked ok. Hearing it might become a cult favorite.

"Love Hurts" I checked it out because I saw Daniel Wu from Badlands was in it as the main bad guy. This was a really good action/comedy. The cast was great. I thought it was cool with a little Gonnies tie-in having Sean Astin as Ke Huy Quan's boss. All in all, it's on Peacock and I recommend it.

    8/10.

Friendship was ok. 3.5 out of 5, it would have been a point higher but paul Rudd is in it and I have a hatred for Paul Rudd. Probably stemming from him stinking up the joint in halloween VI

Attempted to watch sequels to two of my favorite films of all time:

Twisters was god awful. I turned it off halfway through, there just isn't a single likeable character.

The Exorcist: Believer, it was pretty awful, luckily my power went out about a third of the way through the movie. I have no intentions of finishing this.

I think I liked Twisters. It was mindless and dumb but fun. I like a disaster flick.
