    It's 'cuz they're all like "YOU'RE A SUPERHERO!" to the girl and it seemed like they were trying to capitalize on the popularity of superhero flicks and frame it as a superhero origin story or whatever and it came across as that plus like a YA Twilight/Divergent/etc.-type thing, too.

    I haven't seen the movie, but I would have made a trailer of the girl setting things on fire, causing chaos, blowing shit up or whatever, all while the Prodigy's Firestarter played.

    they loosely mentioned that ideology but it never really came remotely close to the forefront of the theme of the movie. It was just a family having to go on the run to protect themselves.
