Preferring Batman & Robin to Batman Begins is probably the dumbest take I've read in a while.

Saying any Batman movie is better then Batman Begins is a dumb take if you ask me.

I'm still waiting on him to try and explain how Returns is borderline horror.

Watch "Rise of the Super Heroes" on Amazon Prime sometime. It's not only time people talk about it being borderline horror (Simply google "Batman Returns Horror Movie" for plenty of others besides myself saying it could be) but they go in depth about how dark Batman Returns was and how the studio blamed the movie not doing as well as the first on the borderline horror movie approach.

Don't watch it just for the Batman stuff, they go all the way back to the old 30's and 40's movie serials. I'm sure you're familiar film guru.

Damn, that says quite a bit considering the stupid you post that you blame on your inability to handle alcoholic beverages lol.

I feel sorry for you waiting what 2 days?

Have you seen Batman Returns? It could easily be a horror movie. Penguin, the atmosphere of Gotham, Jesus Christ they even a fucking zombie in it lol. Batman is one of the darkest characters with even darker co-stars.

I still haven't seen Batman Returns and it does fill out a horror-corner in my brain. Not for kids.

Batman movies up until Ben Affleck always had some horror element to them imo. Even Batman v. Robin, that shit looked like Universal Studios back in the day, the OG horror movies with Dracula and Wolfman. The Batfleck stuff due to the tie in with Justice League, not so much.

I think we'll see more of a scary, darker element in the Robert Pattinson version. Batman is basically Van Helsing with better gear and skill with the hands and feet lol.

I remember is quite vividly actually. It did have dark things in them, but they didn't instill horror at all. Dark doesn't mean horror. The 1989 Batman's Gotham was way more dark than the one is Returns, Penguin was less imposing than Joker, Selena's invincibility at times was played for laughs... and Batman was flabbergasted that penguins are firing rockets at him.

Horror makes you feel scared. Batman Returns never scared me. If it scared you, then ok.

There are nods to horror in Burton's Batman movies, but that's because Burton loves Hammer movies and German Expressionist films like Caligari. I wouldn't call '89 or Returns horror, though.

I guess me saying BORDERLINE HORROR was a sensitive analysis, shared by many. I didn't think it was this ridiculous claim. @VHS the funny thing is all those things you're talking about are mentioned by people involved with Batman Returns and others in that documentary. That it was scarier than the previous Batman. So yeah I'm sure it probably did scare a lot of kids and IMO it was the darker than the first one.

As a huge horror movie fan I'll also say that not all horror movies are meant to be scary or instill fear. Troma is 95% horror but maybe 10% of their movies are actually scary. Yes, Dark can mean horror. I wasn't saying Batman Returns was Nightmare On Elm St.

Never called either movie a horror movie. I'm just saying that Batman Returns was borderline horror, so was Ghost Rider, but I'm not putting either on a top 100 horror movies list or even 1,000.

Batman Returns is absolutely a borderline horror movie. I thought that was obvious. It's as much of a horror movie as The Birds or Jaws or Misery or Silence of the Lambs are, and those are all widely considered fantastic examples of horror films. Danny Devito's Penguin would fit perfectly into the 80s horror scene. It's weird to me that the statement "Batman Returns was a borderline horror movie" would be met with such incredulity.

The contention that Batman and Robin is better than Batman Begins, on the other hand? That's a different story...

Affleck will apparently come back for the Flash movie.

Maybe they are turning Flashpoint into a more Spiderverse like story.

Concept art for Flash's new suit...

That's definitely Keaton's Batman behind him.

The trailer was incredible. Matt Reeve's is a director I will watch no matter what movie he makes.

I've always been curious why Matt Reeves? He did do a good job with Let Me In and the Planet of the Apes movies he did (which explains the casting of Andy Serkis). Maybe I just answered the question lol. Peter Craig helping co-write the script....maybe it was just the idea of those 2 working together sold the studio when Ben Affleck dipped out of the project.

Either way...I'm fucking excited for this.

Jason Todd is the only "Robin" that has a major canon death.
I don't see any reason to think they mean anyone else.
