It shouldn't. It's pretty standard film student stuff. He'd be about midway in my class in terms of cinematography composition and editing. The mockumentary credits are awful, but they don't look too bad. None of it is great, but this guy is a student right? He's not pretending to be the finished article.

I took a digital film editing class in college and really enjoyed it. Though I don't like group projects because no one else seemed into it like I was.

It's fun but you have to get with a crew, most of the stuff I do I do it all myself so I'm doing everything. If you can, pursue it and no way am I finished. I mean, we do this for film school, nothing is officially released or anything.

You can't be a finished article unless you make your first film/short/show even then you're not a finished article and you have to understand, even then you're not a finished piece. You keep making films then at the end of your life, you might a legacy, you might not.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. Fanny has to get with a crew but you do it all by yourself? You're not the finished article but you are doing everything?
It depends, I'm capable of doing it on my own. However, if you're not use to it or new to it, you need a crew.
To clarify, I can do that on my own but directors don't shoot their own stuff themselves, they don't storyboard or screenwrite (some do) but do you know what I mean? A crew will help you set up cameras, I do all of my own stuff (handling the camera, editing, etc.)
I love editing more than directing though but with my upcoming short film, I'm not going to be touching any cameras. They'll be setting up the shots from our shot list and storyboard.
Realistically the minimum you really need to shoot a short film is a director, a cameraman, a sound guy and actors. You should never have less than that really otherwise you're going to end up with a production that is a bit of a mess. Your director shouldn't really double up too much, if he's doing any of those other jobs, he's not really directing properly.
It depends, we want to turn this into an eventual social drama series so we have a proper crew with legitimate credentials incase our pilot gets greenlit. I think the angle (focusing on sub-cultures) is pretty cool so yeah.
Yeah of course ideally you want a much bigger crew than that. What I'm saying is that you should never really have less than that if you're wanting to do a good job of it. You should never really make something where one man is the entire crew, not if you want it to be half decent.
If you have Terry Crews you're all set.

I have studied a lot of Kurasawa movement / in composition so I really hoped to hear from Mik. I legit studied the craft inside and out. I can put together a logline, story with 3 acts, always write the ending first and bam, you got the formula to a film. The trick now is to repeat this so you turn yourself into a business and make profit. I have been behind a lot of stuff influentially from stuff like Heartbreak High (am workig with one of the writers on this - with the whole 'eshay' culture - was doig a short about them back i 2014 so yeah)

Good for you bud, keep chasing the dream. It's mostly an industry of hard work, building your connections and taking as many opportunities offered to you as possible.
I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not going to read your script. I've recently left my role in film education having done it for the best part of 18 years and giving hundreds of young people a start in the industry, but the idea of reading a script for someone and providing feedback gives me weird PTSD type cold chills, I've left that stuff behind for now. However, if you're writing scripts and you're experimenting, if you're still learning and you're paying your way working in the industry, then you're doing better than 99% of the people trying to make it in this industry.
