I did so I got charged for my second three months but after that i should get the 9 months free.
Not particularly thrilled about the Switch Lite for a couple reasons. The fact that you're really only saving a handful of dollars if you have any intentions of buying separate joycons, and that there will be games that can not be played in handheld mode. The second part in particular kind of feels like a, "Why not just get the full thing for the extra $100?"
That said, this is coming from the perspective of someone who already owns a Switch, and I feel like the only games that wouldn't be doable in handheld mode are probably pretty niche and not the ones I'd spend the majority of my time playing. For people who don't care about that nitpicky shit and just want a cheap console, this is pretty brilliant.
Also, having a D-Pad out the gate is smart, and I think the joycon sticks are a little bigger.
Anything that helps the userbase grow, gets afrom me. More consumers on board means more backing from game devs for the device.
Could I play a network Mario Kart game on the telly via my Switch, with my girlfriend playing via the Switch Lite from say, a locked cupboard?

To be honest, I would've considered the Lite, if it was capable of being docked and output to a TV. Even if that meant having to buy the dock and additional joycons separately. The fact that this cant ever be used as anything but a handheld, gets a "no" from me. Which is a shame cuz I own two Switch consoles and would've considered trading one in for the Lite.
When you realise that this is just slightly bigger than the PS Vita, and has better battery life, and a more pixel dense screen, this actually sounds pretty damn cool IMO. Its gonna be great playing games like Breath of the Wild on something like this.
I'm curious to see how the Switch Lite goes because it sounds like it's basically undermining a lot of the appeal of the "Switch" in the first place which is being able to play on your TV or on the go seamlessly. Would it make any sense or be worth it to get this as a second Switch? If the price was $150 cheaper, I would seriously consider it. Nintendo really should've allowed the system to be dock-able, even if all other accessories wouldn't be included with the package.

OK finally got a copy after searching all weekend.
Two hours in and it's been nothing but a brief tutorial level and then a TON of story and text. Which is fine. I just can't wait to get to the game part.

Nintendo to offer Mario Tennis Aces as a free trial from the 7th to the 13th in both Europe and North America via Nintendo online.
I'm just trying to get through the story mode while it's free. Not really a big tennis fan so a free one-week rental will be enough for me. I'm still waiting on a new Mario Golf for Switch.

It's been a long wait, but it seems like we're getting ever so much closer to playing Super Nintendo games on the Nintendo Switch in an official format. A new update on the FCC indicates that Nintendo has filed the documentation for a wireless SNES controller, compatible with the Switch. The image on the FCC only shows the back of the controller, but it also shows the supposed model number--HAC-042--which is the naming scheme used for other official first-party Switch hardware. Next month marks a full year since Nintendo began offering their Nintendo Switch Online services, so the company could be preparing to give users a reason to re-subscribe to another year of NSO, in order to play Super Nintendo games. Previously, Nintendo released NES controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch, which could be purchased by users that had an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
Yeah those NES releases have really gotten pathetic here recently. They have the Switch Lite and Pokemon coming out soon and that's going to make a lot of new customers. So why not give them something good with the online package to get them to subscribe? Something like the SNES?

I have completed my first playthrough on Fire Emblem. I took over 66 hours to do it but I was leveling up my strike force constantly and you know how that eats up time.
Now to try a different path.
Sorry I'm forgetting about the time difference. I'm on to working late shifts this week now so should be available to play from like 00:30 British time.

SNES is heavily rumoured, along with the new SNES controllers for the Switch.
There was a "leak" that no one could verify that included Metroid Prime Trilogy. That's probably the main thing I want right now.
Id love that as well. I never completed the first Prime because my Gamecube at that time developed a problem where it couldn't handle games that ran at a high frame rate. Occasionally the visuals would just go to shit and what you saw on the screen looked like the inside of one of those static electricity balls from Spencer's Gifts.
I eventually had it fixed by Nintendo but when I got it back I had a stack of other games to play so I never got back into Prime. Even though I was probably 75 percent in and I really enjoyed it. Then the sequels came out and everyone raved about how good they were but I don't like playing games out of order. So I've been telling myself I'll play Prime all the way through for around 17 or 18 years now...
Anyway if it was on the Switch I feel like that would help me finally go back and play those games.

I just messed around with it a little and it might just be me but Stunt Trax FX is running so much more smoothly then I remember it running on my old SNES. And I played the fuck out of that game.
