Oh god yes. I’ve never been this hyped for a game before and that trailer just made this next month’s wait even more difficult.

Advance Wars Reboot Camp is great. I loved the GBA games so I was always going to cop this. It's as good as I had hoped (granted, I have only played campaign mode so far - none of the extra modes).
Tears of the kingdom has apparently leaked.
I normally dont give 2 fucks about spoilers but im torn about wanting to see if the dungeons are actual ones

seems pretty solid. I'm going to play the shit out of this game but I might not start it for a little while (like a month or two).
it's an interesting thing to be one of the select few who couldn't care any less about this zelda sequel.
I’m about six hours in and just finishing up the tutorial portion of the game.
the new mechanics are so much fun, me and the kids spent hours just fucking about on Sky Island building weird things. Time to get into the actual game, I guess.
Loving the stupidity of fuse. Tnt barrel to a boomerabg maybe the dumbest thing ever.

Been enjoying the little bit of playtime I've got in so far. The fuse and build mechanics definitely add a new layer to everything. Not having gotten too far, it does feel a bit like slapping some extra stuff on Breath of the Wild with a revamped map, but I'm not really complaining about that. Especially since I have barely even scraped the surface of the game so far.
Sunk about 70 hours in.
Worth every cent.

Over 100 hours 3 temples done.
Easily putting in 200 hours.. greatest zelda game made.

Remake of the original or like a remake/sequel?
From what I can tell it's a faithful remake. Just overhauled graphics and music. Maybe some Quality of Life improvements. But they showed a lot of gameplay and it's all the same locations and bosses and shit from what I saw.
Nice! They have my money already. Hope it does well as a reintroduction to that game and a sequel finally happens.
Damn I wish I hadn’t just completed this on the SNES mini for the first time otherwise would get this now.
Will get it in time of course but will play fresh games then revisit.

Don't get me wrong. Both very fun games to play. But they aren't the absolute pinnacle in video games.
I still hate whoever decide to make weapons break. I can understand the, oh we want you to vary it up. Then make every weapon like the master sword and let it recover over time. People end up using the same weapons anyways, this just makes them have to go back and find the same parts (or in BotW the same chests)
I agree about the weapon breaking, but I feel the build mechanics help mitigate that
Overrated or not, I've loved what I've played so far.
the system actively made me avoid combat and not feel much excitement when combat was inevitable. during my playtime, no weapon felt particularly satisfying to use. they all felt kinda janky and brittle, which makes sense when the base of your combat is built around limited use. they really leaned into the 'sandbox' element of shit, and unfortunately sandbox games don't appeal to me, in a general sense, and aren't what I'm looking for with a zelda game specifically. i want a curated experience, not to 'make my own fun.'
you guys make some valid points. I'm not a big enough gamer to compare BOTW 1 or 2 to other similar games like Elden Ring (which I want to play eventually). So I can't really comment on how overrated it is but I will say I prefer it to GTA5/Rockstar games (which I also enjoy, but I prefer BOTW). Curious what games you guys think are similar to BOTW/TOTK but better?
I find myself avoiding combat at this point in the game (10 or 15 hours in) but it's not because my weapons will break, it's just because I'm shit at combat. So I'll avoid monsters when I can.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is basically BotW but set in a silly ancient mythological time. Same types of mechanics without weapon breaking.
The weapon breaking makes me not work on my mechanics as much. At least that’s what I tell myself when I get ruined by those three headed dragons.

i'll agree there; I'd play BOTW over a rockstar game in a heartbeat. but i absolutely hate the way rockstar games play and haven't made it more than a couple hours into any of them in the last 20 years.
