Never used it. I don’t even use discord voice component just use it to text chat during smash sessions

With the Nintendo Voice Chat app, once the game starts, you open up the app and it usually prompts you to make a voice chat with the people playing in your session. Downside is depending on how this goes, that might mean it's open to everyone else. It's also a little bit shitty because in the case of, say, Smash, the voice chat has to reset between the match-making screen and the actual fight, even if you're hosting a private room.
So Discord would be a lot easier for both smooth voice chat and the ability to text in place of voice. And it's fully compatible with phone for those that haven't used it before.

I just bought a switch over the weekend. Working through Mario Odyssey right now. It is a fun light hearted game that is very needed in these times. My friends also borrowed me BotW, Octopath Traveler, and Smash.
Any other games I should take a look at? At some point I'll dig into Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and Pokemon.
I love Marvel Alliance. I play that with the kids a bit.
Mario Kart as well. If you get Switch online you can play with all us when we play.
Online will also get you a bunch of NES and SNES titles. A year is pretty reasonable too, like $20.
BotH I haven't finished yet and I have sunk a bunch of hours in that game. I love it and it will keep you occupied.

If you like turn based RPGS fire emblem is REALLY fucking good. Animal crossing is a great time killer. And you need to get Mario Kart.
