He had his best years at Jayventus, when I took a boy and made him into the man he is today. I'm like a father figure to him.

What a load of shit. I nurtured him through his early years into the striker he is today after he was cruelly tossed aside by you for Febian Brandy in 2009.

Aguero and Rhodes were number one and two on BCWROGS, well done boys.

Beefy, take your time. I'm still not 100% sure.

No doubt Beefy is going to bottle this pick just like he bottled the league.

beefy didn't choke. He just decided to trust Craig Gunn, Paddy Madden, Tom Ince and Elliott Lee to carry him to the title when 7 points clear.

    Craig Gunn is a legend.

Where is the Beef? I have a meeting from 11:15 to 13:00 so there will be a delay if he doesn't pick before that.

Ince did well for me and if Darren Bent could score a penalty or if Alex had accepted the ridiculously good trade offer I gave him then Sergio would be home.

I'll be picking in FIVE minutes.

That was tough love. He learnt from it, I brought him back as my first pick of the draft and he then had the best season of his career.

Beefy definitely wasn't waiting for a transfer to happen during his timeslot. Definitely definitely definitely not.

    I wasn't being entirely serious.

I did almost have a last minute change of heart; I was going to go with Rooney since there are no question marks over him. Rhodes could very well spend the season sulking at Blackburn, but I had to go for him.

Does anyone else do a prediction before the draft of who they think they will actually get? I usually end up getting about half of the players I imagined I'd pick up.

I used to; I'd have every round mapped out with players in separate tiers. For the past two or three years, though, outside of the first three picks I've pretty much just winged it.

No, because then I get too disapointed if someone takes my targets. I won't look at my list again now until we are within a few picks of me.

I used to map it out like Jay did with players who I'd be happy picking in certain rounds etc but after doing so much American fantasy I just use a basic ranked list like that. Mostly for the later rounds it's too hard to order like that so I just jot names down so I don't forget about them and decide when the pick comes around.

Yup, I wasn't going to go lower leagues after getting burned by Brett Pittman in my first full season but Reeves seems settled enough and I didn't like the PL options.

I was reading today that all of the league scouts that have watched him have not come in for him because all he does is score.

It's an easy story isn't it? Prolific strikers are always going to be linked away.

He's a definite risk I think. If he stays though he's guaranteed goals.

It's an interesting pick at 4 as I don't doubt he will score goals but at the same time there is a few conference strikers I'd still rather have.

I looked at Reeves and he did score almost all of his goals on a Saturday. He failed to score in something like 34 games for Altrincham last season.

The other thing that pushed me in his direction was the signing of Rankine who isn't much of a goalscorer. Hopefully he'll be setting them up. My other option was a sentimental choice who could have an amazing season but I had a few nagging doubts.

Him in the first round, no way! Hopefully he'll still be about late on, he hasn't consistently scored goals for years.

4 names I have left as people I'm happy with drafting in the first round at my spot. 4 people until I pick. Surely not all will go?

Looks to me that there's five stellar top picks left, all of which could have been picked by now without raising eyebrows, IMO.

If MMH ever got here we'd know.

    Great pick.

We've all been burnt with Rangers strikers over the last four years but I think this is the the year when they score 800 goals in the league.

That's the first four non-Euro picks on my list taken in order.

He was the only Scottish player on my list. But I had him lower than you guys seem to have based off of my natural aversion to picking Scottish players.

Warburton will get them playing free flowing attacking football, combined with the quality of their squad all the signs point to that yeah.

2 of my top 4 still available. Convinced they will go before me uh oh.

Wait 1 of my top 4....

Aguero, Rhodes and Rooney were as certain a top 3 as we've had in any number of years I think.

Spotted an error in the draft list. Christopherson and Chris Scott have been swapped as far as I can see.

Can someone confirm thats right before I change it.

Chris Martin isnt under the radar mate.

I only didn't go for him because when I sign derby players like rob hulse they suddenly stop scoring also a little worried about how clement will set us up

Come on Hurley you minge. You had one job.

I've got 4 or 5 players left on my first round shortlist. If all go in the next 6 picks I'll be devastated.

Whilst we're waiting... is there an argument for not having any keepers this year? Probably should have been discussed earlier as it impacts drafting strategy (I think there's other players who I could have picked who will outscore Rooney over the next few months but he's a great keeper pick) but just looking at the top three players going all being players we couldn't pick up last year and within a few picks people bemoaning a lack of quality on their list.

Would it help to not have any keepers?

I'm not convinced, I'm just asking the question whilst Hurley sleeps at 10 in the fucking morning.

I don't think so. There is plenty of quality still out there I think.

This is probably the strongest line-up of keepers we've ever had (the one year I don't have one), so that's definitely a factor.

I can see the benefits of no keepers, it'd help to open the game up for everyone, but wiping everyone's teams at the end of the season would take away a lot of the fun. I like trying to sign the next big player, like what was done last year with Afobe and Kane. To have them taken away from you at the end of the season would only piss people off, unless they were relegated, then they'd deserve it.

To be fair to Hurley, he was probably up late.
