I know it’s not a hot take and has been said before but I’m finally starting to come around on this show being better than breaking bad. Maybe. Ehh. Probably not. But the fact that it’s even a discussion is a testament to how amazing it is.

Ultimately I think the character building on BCS is superior and may have more lasting appeal than the more exciting “holy fuck” moments of breaking bad.

Anyway the last couple episodes have been outstanding. Season finale next week.

Next season is supposed to be the final one. We'll see if they split it up into two parts like the final season of Breaking Bad, essentially making it two more seasons but having them be a little shorter.

the breaking bad split was because vince gilligan wanted to end it after the fifth season, and AMC wanted to cut costs and bring the season down to about half the number of episodes as a normal 13 episode season, which the producers refused. the final season was shopped to other networks, likely as leverage against AMC, and it was eventually agreed that a final 16 episode season would happen, but would be broken in half. the producers got a 'full' season and AMC was able to do an 8 episode season each year, which probably helped spread the production costs out over two years instead of just one. calling it the final season despite the split might've just been a creative thing from the producers who wanted the whole of it to be seen as the conclusion of the story, since they originally only wanted a normal run season of 13 episodes.

Great season, and it sets up nicely for the final one.

Lalo is a tremendous villain. The show had me rooting for him to get killed there but they need him for season 6 because he's such a strong character. Poor Nacho, he can never win but if I had to guess, he'll get his win when the series concludes. They've put him through too much to kill him off next season. He'll get his escape eventually. The only frustrating part was that the assassination team got disposed of so easily and they were supposed to be the best. They successfully got the drop on Lalo thanks to Nacho's quick thinking and that's what they did with it? Amateur hour. But oh well, like I said it sets up season 6 to be tense.

Now we got to wait a year and a half? This is like something you run with if there are three seasons left. I'm just disappointed I guess.

Lalo has it coming though. Nacho never intended for his family to be there. Didn't he want to call it off? My memory is a bit foggy. If anything, Lalo should want revenge on Gus.

Very excited that as soon as WD part 80 ended Saul season 6 was there waiting for me. I watch these shows through Prime with the AMC+ app since I don't have cable. It's not a bad deal because I just cancel it when I'm done as I don't really care for anything else on that channel.

That series finale was magnificent.

Kudos to the cast and crew for taking the “Breaking Bad” banner and building beautifully onto that world. Amazing.

Just finished up the finale 2 nights ago. I was super late to the Breaking Bad party I think I watched all of it on Netflix back in late 2019. Loved it. This was just as good and of course I was late to this party as well. Just like Dexter. I didn't see any of that show until around 2018-2019, great show.

I'll spoiler this because IDK how people will take it but

Saul ended with what I call a "Shield" ending. Nobody really gets away with anything. Kim did though, her life seems to have come full circle back to what she loves. But right when you thought Saul was just getting 7 years, boom, he saves Kim and winds up in prison for the rest of his life....for now.
