Sad news. The woman is the full package. Solid worker, original look, good promo, could play heel or face at the drop of a hat. She was young and had already made a major impact in WWE. She had a great chance at going down as the top WWE female wrestler of all time.
Very sad. However, with her presence, promo ability, popularity with young fans and old alike, not to mention star power, I hope they find other things for her. She can be a great stable leader, evil GM type. Not to mention she could train up women in NXT.
Perhaps she finds a whole new career though. At her young age she shouldn't feel like her life is over. She can go and do anything she wants now. Plenty of time for her to get good at it.

Honestly, I'd put this up there in the most disappointing injury/retirements in wrestling history. Fuck.

Very sad news if WWE think Paige shouldn't compete. I'd hope she would heed their advice. With her family background in the business and having come through NXT ranks herself, I could see her being a strong contender for a coaching role if she wanted one.

Something I saw on Twitter, a comparison between the WWE and New Japan schedules and how they use guys. Singles matches in 2017:
Okada: 18
Naito: 18
Omega: 21
Samoa Joe: 49 (missed part of the year with an injury)
Nakamura: 83 (only called up after Wrestlemania)
Reigns: 101
New Japan does fewer shows and also mostly books tag matches on house shows. If I were WWE I think I'd be doing a lot more tag matches on my house shows, not necessary to make guys work so many singles matches every year.

Sad news with Paige, but not bad. The article alluded to Edge, and is if it the same type of thing it could have left her permanently paralysed or even dead from a bad bump.

The ring style is too high volume to work nowadays if they want them to work 4-5 nights a week. Flair could do it because it was 10 minutes of mat work, a bit of stooging, 20 minutes of heel control and hope segments, then the comeback where he'd take a couple of bumps (turnbuckle spot, press slam usually), then they'd go through the finish. Nowadays guys are doing superplexes, planchas, apron bumps etc every match. It's not enconomical. Either move to tag/6-mans or just work smarter on house shows.

Agreed. Think it’s about time they give these guys & girls a break.
