The Outlaws is probably the least interesting, as their story is the shortest and had the least controversey.

Slapdick Schiavone trying to get WWE to hire him with this promo for Starrcade: https://www.facebook.com/whwmonday/v...2413882237075/

Absolutely awesome though. Love the blazer and the mustache.

Wonder if that's actually his old Mid-Atlantic blazer or if he just ironed the patch onto a new one.

John Pollack just announced on Twitter he's leaving Live Audio Wrestling and the Fight Network. He'd been there forever, had no idea he was leaving. Curious where he goes next. I'd love to see him at MLW, Bauer and Pollack is one of my favorite podcasts. Seems like Court is too busy promoting MLW shows to do podcasts every week but get Pollack a cohost and just let them talk wrestling and MMA every week.

On another note, Conrad announced the next couple episodes of Something to Wrestle: Bret Hart, Survivor Series 1987, and Survivor Series 2002. And New Age Outlaws are leading the poll for this week as of last update.

That's a negative turn of events for this week's poll.

Some shit's gone down at Fight Network. Jason Agnew is out too. They just tweeted saying all the podcasts are shutting down for a few weeks and then relaunching.

Speculation is that the TNA thing has killed Anthem which owns the fight network. Or that they basically want state run media in regard to TNA. Like the old WCW Live.

WCW Live was a podcast before that was a term. Basically an internet radio show that was on WCW.com that came on after Nitro every week. It was hosted by Jeremy Borash and Bob Ryder. After Russo took over and everything went to shit that show was comical. It sounded honestly not unlike transcripts you read from North Korea state tv. Extolling the genius of Russo for minutes on end. Burying everyone who had eyes and saw what a disaster everything was. It was like that dog in the burning building comic strip combined with a cult of personality.

That's the speculation. Either that or they're just broke.

Best episode of What Happened When Monday ever this week. I haven't finished yet, but I've been bursting out laughing at Schiavone's commentary on Halloween Havoc 1995. And I haven't even gotten to them talking about the "YET-AY" yet.

Finally got around to listening to Aries on Jericho. He debunked that he was being snide with his tweet about the Mania DVD and not being on it. He said that was just a promotional tweet that the company wanted him to put out with it being released in new countries at the time. As he was doing it, he wasn't sure how to do it (considering their match wasn't on the DVD), so he just did what he did. Wasn't a jab or anything.

He was going to begin rehab on his neck, and he was told creative had nothing for him and that they were going to let him go. He specifically said he didn't ask for his release. He would have been open to going back to NXT or doing other things, but WWE had nothing for him. Aries did appreciate the fact that despite he was being released, WWE let him work and rehab at the PC as he was working on getting his neck back in shape.

Aries on Jericho was a decent listen and cleared up him being bitter and quitting. The NAO STWW was decent but not as strong as their recent shows. Passed 4 hours quickly thought.

The E and C podcast is the best one going at the moment. They have ex WWE writer Brian Gewirtz on and its fucking brilliant, really really funny stuff.

Also been listnening to Tuesday Night Jaw which is hosted by Glens partner in Progress Jim Smallman. Highly reccomended, most recent one is with ICW owner Mark Dallas, but the two parts of the Zack Gibson one before that is the best single podcast I've ever listened to. He talks about his wrestling tours in rural china and it is amazing.

I wasn't a fan of the Outlaws one. It was Bruce kissing their ass the whole time because he is good friends with Road Dog. Hardyz or E&C would have been better in my opinion. Looking forward to tomorrow's Bret episode which is rumored to be the longest one yet.

Conrad says nearly five hours on Bret tomorrow.

You do that show in the Tokyo Dome and it's going six hours for sure.

A pretty satisfying episode, but it really seemed like they'd already covered everything in the Montreal Screwjob episode they did last year.

Survivor Series 2002 next week, and then a live commentary of Survivor Series 1987 for Thanksgiving. Waiting to see how they kill time during the 40 minute 10 team tag match on that show.

I thought they covered way more ground this week regarding the Bret episode. I don’t read dirt sheets and research this stuff so a lot of it was new to me. I didnt know about the articles, the fight, the huge contract offered, vince wanting Bret to lose to Shawn all those times, stuff from Bret’s book, etc

Does anyone not do any of those videoed shoot interviews any more? Like those ROH ones from years ago. They'd go on for hours but the wrestlers would get complete freedom to go as deep as they want with their stories. Now with podcasts its like they have a set limit of allocated time.

Kayfabe Commentaries is still around. They actually just started an On-Demand service where they rotate which interviews are on there. $20/month. Much better deal than buying one of their interviews for $30 or whatever they charge.

God, I remember when I saw the Radicalz episode was over two hours and I couldn't believe it. Now we've got a near five hour show.

What will be the topic to break the five hour mark? I don't know that they'll ever do a show that's just about Vince (because every show is about Vince) but if they did that could easily be it. Maybe Jake Roberts? They could definitely do five hours on Warrior. Triple H warrants about ten hours (they'll break him up into multiple shows for that reason).

I have to feel like this show will be the record. The Montreal Screwjob and all the drama leading up to it is the most talked about wrestling topic going back two decades. Conrad was probably overwhelmed with the amount of into he came across during his research and, being Conrad, felt the need to address all of it.

I don't know if there is any other subject out there that would provide Conrad with so many talking points.

Then again the 605 super podcast is always long as fuck and Brian just bullshits the whole way through it. So if Conrad just wanted to do it he easily could.

they already did a Warrior one and it was barely over an hour. I get it was early in their tenure but I doubt they go back to him.

I thought the discussion of the development of the character and his initial run was fascinating, but once they got past about the first six months there wasn't a ton to talk about. Just sort like "yeah, that was in really bad taste" and "yeah, he was pretty fucked up at that point."

They've started announcing the shows further in advance, I'm sure that's a relief to Conrad that he has more time to do research. I wonder if he's hired someone to help him with research at this point, it was pretty insane back when he was seemingly reading a book each week and like 50 Observers to have stuff to talk about.

I wonder when homeboy sleeps. I mean he operates a national mortgage company for a living.

I haven't started the Goldie episode yet. I had to listen to the Experience today and finish up a Studcast episode I started yesterday.

I'd start it now but I wouldn't be able to follow it.

I've read one too many novels tonight. Made a novel pyramid.

Something to Wrestle With dragging other podcasts has become my favorite part of the show. I was busting out laughing at the Edge & Christian bit today.

Jericho will have Omega as his guest Wednesday. That will definitely be a good one.

Stone Cold's shows with Gallows and Anderson are the best podcasts I've listened to.

John Pollock is back with his own run thing at POST Wrestling.

Great review of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom. Well worth a subscribe for the main shows, or a $6 Patreon for all the shows. He's the best reviewer in podcasts today.

I took the advice though and listened to the Brian Gerwertz episode of E&C's podcast. Holy shit is he funny. It's a must listen episode. This is up there with the Gallows and Anderson Austin Podcast episodes for me.

Kayfabers are going to hate it, but I absolutely loved the Jericho/Omega pod. Really great insight from Omega (Jericho shared most of his the week before) on how the match was set up, then really great insight from both on the match itself. A lot of things that went to plan and then a fair amount that didn't. Omega's impression of Gedo was hilarious.

Cornette is going to be crushed. He's been bragging on how old school Jericho has handled this program and credited him for it.

Looks like Cornette is starting to adopt the Something to Wrestle With format. Newest episode is about the final months of Jim Crockett Promotions and it looks like he's done a few shows on historical topics. Anyone been listening? I haven't listened to Cornette in awhile but this I'd want to hear.

I listen to Corny's stuff religiously and love it. The dude has a memory like a steel trap. He never forgets where he was, what he did, and why he hates who he had to do it with or for. Its amazing. He's like Bret Hart, but Corny has a personality and doesn't make dishwater seem exciting by comparison, like Bret.

A couple months ago he just randomly got into one of his journals and talked about one specific month and the amounts he and The Midnight made. He did it to compare it to what wrestlers make in the modern wrestling era to prove how the business is dying but the response was so positive that he's done it a few more times since then.

Very interesting shows Law. Right up your alley.

I haven't been a big fan of his originally. Then WWE started using him more and the shill machine went into hyperdrive. Does anyone still listen to his podcast?

My fleeting interest in wrestling only allows for Masked Man, Jericho and Austin.

I don't get the sense that very many people do. I used to like it back when it had Shoemaker on there. Now I don't bother to listen to either Cheap Heat or Shoemaker's show. And honestly a big part of that is they only cover WWE, and only from a "here's what happened on Raw this week" perspective. There just isn't a less interesting topic in wrestling than present day WWE to me. There's just nothing to talk about.

The trolling bit where you claim there's nothing to talk about from all those hours of excellent content we've had over the past few months in WWE.

Brother Love legit got a top five pop last night. Bischoff got a pretty good one too.

Bischoff is teasing another podcast on Twitter. Him and Conrad doing a show together would be amazing, apparently Bischoff challenged him to do it at the live show at Barclays last Friday. Don't think that's happening until the Schiavone wedding is paid for.

At least Conrad shamed Bischoff into not tucking his t-shirt in on Raw.

Listened to a few of these recently. Jericho on Austin's was great, they had a good conversation about what it takes to be a heel in modern wrestling as well as the Shawn feud from 2008. Also Kevin and Sami on Jericho's. I thought it was a bit weird that Sami still does the same kind of entrance as a heel as when he was a face with the dancing and playing to the crowd. Apparently it's because Vince told him not to change anything because he was already incredibly annoying. Then he told a story of when Vince's 97 year old mother was backstage when it was Vince's birthday. Kevin wished him a happy birthday which Vince received and when Sami did the same thing apparently Vince just snorted and looked away.

Yeah I really enjoyed Jericho's one with KO & Sami. Listened to E&C on Austin's yesterday too which was fun. They did a deep-dive into the ladder matches, especially the one at 17

Something to Wrestle With continues to be my favorite. They haven't had an episode that really blew me away for little while but they continue to be quality every week.

I'm starting to get bored with the Schiavone podcasts. There's some humor, but mostly the same jokes over and over. Not a lot of insight because Tony wasn't really involved in the booking or business side of the company. I would love for Conrad and Bischoff to do a show together.

I'm listening to Cornette a lot more now that he's starting to cover specific shows and time periods. His notes are amazing. "April 2nd we were in Boston at the William Brown Arena. Not even the fucking Boston Garden. It says 1,500 people but I doubt there were that many. Payoff was $250." He's got the towns, what their match was, the finish, the crowd size, the gate, and the payoff for like every date they ever worked.

It's a shame Pat Patterson doesn't do a podcast. His interview with Jericho from a couple years back was excellent. He's got such an amazing story even before you get to him being one of the most important people in the WWF for a couple decades.

Sciavone's constant penis obsession and his stories about Grizzly Smith are just a constant turn-off for me.

The dude really is the Bob Saget of wrestling. Squeaky clean on-air commentator and a dirty old man asshole off camera.

Yeah, Cornette can't get over his personal beefs with certain people. Kenny Omega once did some shit he didn't like, so he's never going to give him credit no matter what he does.

I did think this was an interesting listen though:

I still enjoy what happened when. The jokes are still funny and Tony had a few good stories the last few weeks. While he might not have the backstage booking angle, I do enjoy the personal accounts he gives with certain wrestlers. If you are looking for the backstage politics and stories then stick with the hundred other wrestling podcasts.

Will tune in for this one. Crazy, but it feels like yesterday I watched this show but it's almost exactly 30 fucking years ago [feels old]..

It's where Harley Race fucks up his stomach on that table dive and where Randy Savage and the Honky Tonk Man move on from their feud to Ted DiBiase and Brutus Beefcake. It's also the end of the year long Beefcake/Valentine/Dream Team feud. Remember being pissed that DiBiase defeated Savage (via count out though), Macho Man very rarely lost on television during this time. Definitely the first time I saw him lose since WrestleMania III.

Myself and a a good friend of mine started one called ICOPOD (in memor of ICOPRO) where we watch and chat about WWF starting with the first RAW in 1993. We have two episodes published. Episode One we covered the first two RAWs and then the second episode is Royal Rumble. Moving forward we'll do one episode of RAW.

    Episode 1: http://icopod.podbean.com/e/episode-1-raw-111-118/

    Episode 2: http://icopod.podbean.com/e/episode-...l-rumble-1993/

It's also on iTunes. It's been a lot of fun and hopefully you guys/gals enjoy it as well.

I'm glad we're finally getting back to poll topics as this anniversary shit has been pretty weak for STWW. No Way Out 2003. They spent more time talking about Nathan Jones than anything and there wasn't really anything to any of the matches. No Way Out 1998, same shit, just a lot of nothing really. Now we're getting HBK when he's at his 90's peak next so that should be cool.

The only negative to that is we've probably heard even Bruce himself talk about a lot of this time period with Shawn and the Klik. But I am really interested in the behind the scenes transition from Vince not believing in Shawn to what made him believe in Shawn more than pretty much anyone on the roster ever next to maybe Cena and Roman.

I voted for X Pac I think was the most recent one. I feel like I have heard so much about Michaels.. that I was surprised so many voted for him. I am hoping it will be a good episode, from before he got all "diva" like.

    Edit* Voted for on STWW

What Happened When is ending at the end of March. Schiavone was serious about it being to pay for his daughter's wedding, so they're shutting it down. I'll miss it, but I'm interested to see what Conrad does next. Hopefully him and Bischoff do a show, seems like they've been working an angle for awhile now.

I think this is a good thing, really.

I mean, I enjoy the show - but there's only so far you can go with a guy who doesn't remember shit and wasn't even really to "in touch" with what was going on at the time. I think they've done a good job with what they had to work with, but Bischoff is far better placed for a WCW Retrospective podcast.

Yeah, my take is I'd rather have What Happened When than nothing, but I'd rather hear a WCW podcast with Conrad and a different person who was more involved in the creative and business side of things. Conrad and Kevin Sullivan would be awesome but Sullivan's had a podcast for a few years now. Conrad and Bischoff would be amazing, Bischoff squirming under Conrad's cross examination would be a ton of fun.

There’s a few guys who could be great in a What Happened When-style show.

    - Eric Bischoff
    - JJ Dillon
    - Kevin Sullivan
    - Konnan (he was more involved than you’d think. He had Kevin Nash’s ear when he was booker and brokered the deal to bring the Luchadors into WCW.)
    - Kevin Nash

So after reading the main page's report about Robbie E's new podcast I have to say he might strike gold with this one. WHY IT ENDED, the concept being to bring in wrestlers who seemingly vanished, maybe became cult classic wrestlers. Matt Koon is helping him so that's a plus. Matt also said per the article that he'd like to get Maven, Muhammed Hassan, and David Flair as future guests.

Conrad tweeted that Tony changed his mind about ending the podcast and it's going to continue.

I love that WHW is continuing. The podcast from the wedding was damn entertaining.

I listened to the first two why it ended episodes and I am very interested in that. I think guys like Mordecai, Kizarny, Maven, Yeti, etc would make for some great shows.

Holy shit that's amazing. Fights between Conrad and Bischoff might make Conrad and Bruce look like nothing.

After the suggestion that Dave Meltzer is on Ronda Rousey's payroll, some guy tweeted why that could be:

Positive information. Conrad said a lot wrestlers pretend to be nice to Dave. Then behind Dave’s back is laughing at him. But when he calls they are nice to him for favorable news, rankings, ect.
    Dave's response:

The sad part is those same people are "laughing" at Conrad as well which any perspective worth a damn would figure out immediately. You have no idea how many people badmouth him to me, except I'm not interested. I know the gig and have been around long enough to get the game.
    So childish

It's weird how angry Dave gets with Conrad. It comes off as petty. That someone so close to the true "inside" of WWE inner workings would be talking to someone not named Meltzer. He needs to chill. He's coming off very lame here.

I started following Meltzer on twitter a couple months ago and I might unfollow him.

He is such an arrogant dick to every single person that tweets at him. I get it, some of the questions he gets are terrible. But I've seen him blast people with legitimate points over and over again.

Dude seems like an insecure little bitch.

A lot of wrestlers have also said the same thing Conrad said which is where he's getting the comment from imo. I've heard people like HBK say that same thing, that people will talk to Wade or Dave and kiss their ass for favorable reviews but shit that was probably him talking about when the newsletter actually mattered.
