It just seemed odd that you had a go at Badger for mentioning that.

Sarcastically mocking Brock's quote, not busting a gut over the word Jew. Taking things out of context again.

Anyway, itvwas a good listen and wished it had gone longer.

I wonder what becomes of Cheap Heat with Grantland closing down. Shoemaker and Rosenberg (no word from Greg the Virgin yet) have both promised the show will go on already, just not clear when, where, and how. It would be kind of bad ass if they just went indy for a little bit and recorded it sitting around their apartments.

They rarely recorded at Grantland's podcast studio. Seemed to do it more often at Peter's place of work.

I can't see it being an issue. Guys like Austin do it with their own equipment and it sounds absolutely fine. They'll probably end up at Podcast One like the rest of them and we'll just have to put up with some ads.

Anyone listen to the Eugene one that Colt did? No real surprises there apart from the fact that the character Eugene was based on a special-needs superfan from an earlier time that Moolah "made a man out of" ....yikes.

Just listened to the Ryback one...quite an interesting listen, he espouses all that PMA bollocks without making it seem ludicrous. I respect his dedication to becoming the best, it's quite refreshing to hear someone say, without any feeling of arrogance, that he wants to become, and thinks he will become, the WWE's biggest star. I don't think it will happen, but you can't fault his commitment to the cause. Seems like a decent, smart guy too. Austin let down the side a little by focusing almost entirely on his preparation and gym work, and not really getting into his in-ring history.

Cabana's recent ones with Jinder Mahal and Bob Holly were great. I love Holly on podcasts. He talks about using steroids and his negative reputation at length. Jinder Mahal is the most Canadian sounding wrestler ever.

    Enjoyed a Jim Ross podcast!
bob backlund was an interesting and different guest. It was refreshing to hear him speak as himself without being Mr. Backlund. I felt bad that he did his HOF speech in his character rather than as himself.
Also enjoyed the Iron Sheik on Jericho's, he also spoke very honestly and without reverting to the character. The highlight being when Jericho repeatedly mistook Iran for Iraq.

I've got to get caught back up with Flair. I've been doing no podcast listening lately. Mostly I'm just tired of all the bitching and complaining. In the wrestling fan world very few of the public voices seem to actually enjoy wrestling.

It's so great to hear Flair doing his show from a live show. He's in his element being around the boys.

Him pitching to Vince that he should win the Survivor Series tournament and that he should come out with Cesaro to cut his promos.

Flair managing Cesaro would be incredible. Unlike Heyman, who was apparently told to do nothing but talk about Brock Lesnar while managing Cesaro, I think Flair would be a great help. I liked Flair in this role when he was in TNA with AJ, Daniels, what was that shit called, Fortune? I just didn't like when they tried to make AJ Little Naitch 2.0.

Jericho's advertising style now is awful. I get why they're being done this way (so you won't skip them), but his fake conversations with nothing while leading into the ad is just awful shit.

All-time classic Cornette story from Russo on JR's pod this week:

Late 90s, they're driving to the show together. Cornette's behind the wheel. Somebody cuts him off. He obviously loses his shit, face gets red, the whole deal. He speeds up to catch up to this person. They stop at a light. Turns out it's a woman. Cornette is screaming at her. Then he reaches under his seat and pulls out a gun. He doesn't point it at her, just shows her he has it.

She hauls ass to get out of there. Russo is now flipping shit at Cornette. "Jim, what the fuck are you doing with a gun?"

    Cornette's response? "I'm a heel, I have to have a gun."

She then recorded an epic "fuck you" to the internet and disappeared entirely. She had been doing a show with MVP and Alex Greenfield in addition to the Cornette show. Can't blame her, the hatred people had been throwing her way was unreal. When she was hospitalized last year a ton of people tweeted hoping she would die.

Anyway, Cornette and MSL will probably be an improvement. MSL knows a lot more about wrestling, keeps up with the current product, and will probably be more willing to challenge Cornette than Alice was.

That said, Cornette's podcast is generally terrible and has been getting worse. The guy's political rants are unbearable. At least he's funny when he talks about wrestling. His politics are just a bunch of regurgitated shit he heard on MSNBC and Bill Maher.

Yeah I love listening to Cornette go off the deep end about wrestling, especially people he actually worked with, like when he talks about the lead up to the Montreal screwjob and his disdain for Shawn Michaels as a human being is comical. The only non-wrestling stuff I've heard him talk about in length was about fast food and his love for Wendy's.

she used to do bits and bobs on inside the ropes before the mlw gig.

she went mental at them and accused them of some silly things, she apparently also regularly sent pics of her cunt to people. she also has claimed to not be paid which is completely untrue.

i then went onto reddit and theres a thread stating she is not saying that she was metsfan4ever.

as much as cornette has said something very very stupid here, she is a total fucking idiot.

Cornette's podcast is just impossible to listen to anymore. Quit listening to him a few months back. For some reason, he still believes people want to listen to him rant non-stop about Vince Russo. It was 20 years ago and neither are in the wrestling business anymore. Get over it. It's played out 1 sided beef. It's as played out as Jim's pulse on wrestling since 1995. And there's probably a good reason Jim struggles to get (new) guests on his podcast despite having 30 (?) years in the business....

Heard about his Muslim comments. Didn't know Alice quit. Don't know how anyone can tolerate Jim. Just listened to Alice's rant. She's bitching about all people talk about is wrestling (when she does a wrestling podcast on a wrestling site). Then bitching about how no one would listen to her non-wrestling podcast Look in the mirror Alice. Maybe it's because you aren't interesting and no one gives a shit about your views...

Hanging off Jim's dong for 3 years was worth it, eh? Perhaps in that 3 years if you gave your own views instead of agreeing with each and every thing Jim said, someone would respect you and your views.

I enjoy Cornette but I simply have no use for thirty non-wrestling related tangents he goes off on with each podcast. I give him a listen every so often. Basically whenever he has a guest that's worth a shit. Which is hardly ever.

Otherwise it's basically just him bitching about Russo and then spending 30 minutes plugging the Southeastern Kentucky class of 71 all star wrestling autograph signing that he'll be making an appearance at or what the fuck ever.

Does he ever have a guest on beside Ken Bolen (sp?) who I have no clue who he is and Lance Storm (where he and Jim jerk each other off all show agreeing with each other)??

Podcast ideas I've been mulling over:

    -Reviews of random classic shows

-Reviews of the pay-per-views of the Monday Night Wars era (start in September 1995, go back and forth between WWF and WCW, then start doing the ECW ones too when they start)

-WWF/WCW pay-per-views and SNME/Clash of the Champions from the beginning

    Other suggestions?

The classic show idea is fun, you can do TBS Saturday Night or WWF Saturday Mornings. God, Saturdays in the 80s were great as a kid. Hey, do both.

I love the podcasts that review an old show or match. I've run dry on Wrestlespective and OSW Review. What others are there worth listening to?

It was odd how over the new year Ross/Jericho/Flair/Austin were doing each other's podcasts. Jericho on Flairs was good because they had about all sorts of stuff without deviating too much. It was as honest as I've heard Jericho speak. As useful as he is at times, It was refreshing that Conrad shut up too.

Austin and Ross was also good. Austin was relaxed and chatty.

Cornette's podcast has improved a lot since they switched co-hosts. MSL is a lot more knowledgeable about both current and past wrestling, so it's nice that he can actually get Cornette to give some commentary on current wrestling (it's the boilerplate stuff, but it's still fun hearing Cornette say it). There hasn't been any political talk the last few episodes, which is a welcome change. And Cornette says he's trying to be more positive this year, so it's fun to see how long that lasts.

I haven't listened since an episode or two ago when Jim talked about the controversy a little more in depth. Didn't seem like they got to much wrestling in that episode but then again I'm not sure I listened to the whole thing.

MSL is definitely a better for fit for the gig though.

Got that ready to listen to next.

Just got down with Robbie Brookside and my man Shelton Benjamin. Brookside's was brilliant and so funny, his stories were insane. Benjamin's was really good too, good insight into how he left wwe and his New Japan stuff.

Vampiro is always fun to listen to. Hes full of shit but in an entertaining way. He always claims to have been in the room when anything cool happened on earth. Ask him about Nirvana and he'll tell you he was friends with Kurt Cobain and helped write Smells like Teen Spirit. Ask him about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and he'll tell you he was Leatherface's best friend growing up. He also invented techno, speed metal and saw the second gunmen on the grassy knoll.

Im sure he makes up some stuff, but I'll buy that he body guarded milli vinilli and I know he was a mexican pop star for like 20 years. He's just one of those dudes who has done so much that it sounds fake, but like, you gotta remember that this dude made it to the upper echelon of WCW with the God damn misfits and he doesn't know how to do a hip ross.

His 2 parter with austin from a few months back is superb btw

I think that's the one I'm going by. He told stories about working with the drug enforcement police in Mexico right? Until he got stabbed in the back by a team of dirty cops who beat him down and threatened his life because they were on the payroll of some drug kingpin and Vampiro was on the side of justice?

Haven't listened to it yet but the newest one with Flair reviewing the 92 Rumble as he watches it is a really good idea. They even tell you when to press play on the network.

I did this. It was cool, but could have been better. I think it'd be cool if a couple guys from various rumbles did comentary for matches they were in.

Not a wrestling podcast, but Xavier shouted out to it. I think it was because Totalbiscuit talks briefly about the World Trigger anime crossover with NJPW. Okada had something to do with it.

Washed up heel Jericho could be such a money gimmick. Have him phone in matches and promos on purpose to rile up the crowd. It could be great while covering the fact that he's washed up by making it a gimmick that he's washed up.

    *edit*

Actually Xavier is on the latest episode, but it crashed. So it links to the episode previous. I might have found a new show to listen.

According to Flair, Randy Orton is definately out for mania. He said the shoulder operation that he had was far more invasive and complicated than people realize.

He broke down a match he had with Angle in the same way. Makes me want more match breakdowns from Austin. As someone fascinated with the art of calling a match and all the little shit hearing a guy like Austin discuss the ins and outs is extremely entertaining

I'm a month behind, but i'm listening to Talk is Jericho with AJ Styles. Very fun to hear about his debut and departure from NJPW.

Not very often Austin is lost for words but the Russo one he barely gets a word in edge ways. My god Russo can talk.
Jericho and Malenko was good this week- apart from the bit with his annoying kids. Skip the first ten minutes or so.
