Me too. PPV browsing by year rather than by event at last.

I can’t seem to be able to get full screen on my iPad for the pre HD content. Hooking it up to the tv is even worse.

    Any ideas?

Actually, I haven’t been able to figure out hooking it up to my tv at all yet. Had to watch 205 Live on my iPad instead of the TV last night. Can’t find anything to help me out in settings...

What is Smackville, by the way? I’m so out of the loop right now. Just a Network exclusive?

Last hour of a house show from Nashville last night. Matches were Ali/Shinsuke, KO/elias and Dolph/Joe/Kofi. Was ok but nothing to go out of your way to watch.

Bit upset to not find Gangrel under the superstar list, but I've added Braun and giant gonzalez as my favorites.

I also love love love the skip match feature. Scrolling through PPVs or RAWs to find a match was sometimes torture on the old version. I wanted to watch Brock/Strowman from 2017, with the hopes that Strowman would win, turns out he never does, and I found it all in 10 seconds.

I haven't been able to go through every show/ppv but I did start noticing within the last year or so they were getting pretty good at the skip match feature.

    I like the new layout.

I never knew they had a skip match feature before this update... I always had to scroll through to find what I wanted to watch.

That's how it was for a long, long time. Then slowly they started updating everything. It's awesome.

Yeah, the new layout is definitely a breath of fresh air. Things feels more organized and the player is solid.
It's very blatantly taking notes from Youtube's front page.
    Great move by WWE.

It took me by surprise when I went on the other day, I didn't really have much problem with the old layout. The skip match feature is great though.

Ahmed was amusing. I vaguely remember a Shotgun Saturday night promo where he warned a jobber to be careful he hadn't had his dose of Prozac yet.

Love watching rhe Sunday Night re-runs. When the B-shows actually had something going and not just a recap show like they do now.

The Super Assassins just debuted in WCW. Jan 1, 1996. At a time when they were openly stealing anyone they could from WWF why did they put the Warlord and Barbarian under masks?

Bill Watts. No moves off the top, no padding outside the ring, no throwing someone OVER the TOP rope.

Heat was dope. I forgot that there was a period of time that DJ Scribble was a co-host lol.

I'm not sure when they'll put any more of those up. Shit I'm hoping we get some Velocity, Jakked, and Shotgun Saturday Night episodes as well. Or Superstars, the original, because right now I think they just have 1992 or 1993 episodes up. I want to see the one that aired after IYH Good Friends, Better Enemies. A buddy and I had front row, and they taped 4 weeks worth of Superstars. The cameraman even gave us free Sunny shirts that I still own.

Yeah, a guy in my brother's grade apparently wrestled on Sunday Night Heat in 2005 as a jobber and I went to look to watch it but they only had 1998 and 1999 up. He faced Simon Dean or someone like that I think he wrestled on Velocity too which is pretty cool

Daily Motion might have it actually. Or Youtube. I guess you just have to find out which episode it was OR look up all the results for 2005 and sift through the matches that you don't recognize the names, chances are that's the jobbers lol.

So I really liked the reformatting of the Network layout, but now I'm not so hot about it. I wanted to watch Summerslam, but it took forever to find the actual stream. I would click WATCH, but it would take me to WWE 24. I clicked out and selected PPV. No Summerslam. Went to schedule, selected Summerslam, took me to a login screen even though I was already logged in. When I finally did get to the stream, the navigation was incredibly confusing. The LIVE icon was 3 quarters into the navigation loader, so I moved it to the beginning. Boom it took me hours into the past and I was watch another show. Moved forward and the buffer froze. Reloaded the page and I clicked around until I found the beginning of the gosh dang PPV.

Fuck, they have a lot of work to do to make this cohesive.

I about murdered half my apt complex the night of the ppv. The glitching and buffering and weird shit that was happening, not just to me but like 90% of everyone watching it seemed.....I made it 3 matches in and said fuck it and watched 5 episodes of The Boys lol.

After it was live though, it ran fine. Reminded me of the first couple months when the Network first debuted.

I was watching on delay so didn't have any issues. I started from the start of the show at 9 PM, but fell asleep by 10 or so, just after the AJ Style/Ricochet match. Just read the spoilers for the rest, and went back to watch Wyatt/Balor.

FB, Instagram, and Twitter were littered with people experiencing the same shit I was. It was weird like at one point the audio was perfect but the match itself was going back and forth like someone was pushing the rewind/fast forward buttons on a VCR lol. I watched it yesterday, zero issues lol.

You know what, that did happen to me but it was when I was watching NXT last Wednesday. Audio stayed the same but everything was moving fast. Then everything just stopped and the app closed. It happened at the start of that match with the guy with the colored hair vs. that Australian guy whose tag team partner requested his release.

Yeah dude that's exactly what was happening to me and that's how I knew it had to be on WWE's end because why would the audio be on point?

It was that fuckin Kevin Dunn.

I discovered that my Amazon Fire tablet was no longer accessible with the WWE app to watch which was a huge disappointment, but I found a way to get in by using the web browser on it, no problem.

I hate the update, makes watching stuff on my PS4 much much more difficult. Took me roughly an hour to even get anywhere for Takeover but that's because it ended so then I had to wait until it was on the network.

    Yeah same here.

My network basically doesn't work on my PC now. Chrome has always been crap for me, it always played a bit off and buffered sometimes but now it buffers every 5 seconds or so for no reason. Internet Explorer which is what I used to watch the Network on (the only thing I used it for) no does not work at all, I just get a non stop loading circle.

    Shite.

I like older game consoles better, not so much into gaming as I used to be, so a PS3 has been the newest thing I bought. If they block out tablet browsers from access to the network, I'd be much more likely just to cancel it than upgrade TV or game console for the access. It'll all be there some day I'm sure.

I want a calendar function. I go to May 2 of 1996 and it shows me everything they have for that day. Then O can move to the 3rd and so on. Sick of having to jump from Raws to Nitros to WWF PPV to WCW PPV. Just give it to me chronologically. Everyrthing you have.

That's exactly what they need. I'd love it.

So I guess NXT moving to the USA Network next month is a done deal. I think it sucks because I really only use the WWE Network just to watch NXT and the Takeovers. What the heck was the point of even starting the Network if you're just going to move your exclusive and best content back onto TV? If this is supposed to counter AEW in any way, then it really goes to show how little faith they have in RAW/SD these days.

I haven't had or needed cable in years and I'm not going to spend any money just to get USA.

If the product is going to be a tv show then Vince is just going to start putting in his two cents anyway and the show won't be the same at all.

That's what I'm afraid of. Change is usually a welcome thing, but in this case I feel like it moving to tv will change what makes NXT NXT. I don't want all the excitement sucked out of the only thing I enjoy about WWE.

Instead of making NXT Weekly, WWE should do a "Network Showcase Weekly" show, where they keep the full shows on the Network, but they show the best highlights of NXT, NXT: UK, and 205 Live.

Have Mauro Ranallo and Beth Phoenix host it.

That way, they'd get extra stuff on TV and give the Network hype.

Not a fan of the move at all and not just because it won't be on the Network anymore. The charm of NXT was it being a one hour develoomental program with a rotation of stars each week. Making it a 2 hour TV show to counter AEW does smack a little of desperation and defeats the purpose of NXT. AEW will likely win this particular battle.

Because, while showing some growth, the Network wasn't drawing in as many as they probably would have hope. That's their fault though. Then, they're also making a boat load of money from TV networks.

Yeah but even though it's the cumulative amount of content on the network that keeps people paying their 9.99 every month, they certainly aren't going to add any subscribers by moving NXT to USA. They certainly will lose a few though.

But none of that matters. The real problem here is going to be the Vinceizing of the NXT program.

Yeah, but them moving to TV may very well lose them subscribers. I'm sure a big portion of their sub count only stays subscribed because of NXT. And Vince running the show will only mean the product gets stale, people lose interest, and them the brand goes under so it's forced back onto the Network. It's hard to gain subs, but it's even harder to gain subs back.

It's a shortsighted perspective in some ways. Not to say it's foolish, because they're making a ton of money of TV deals, but it does have the chance to really blow up in their face.

the takeovers will still be on the network, and those are the real draws for nxt. right now, the only people watching nxt and the takeovers are wwe network subscribers. it goes to usa, maybe gets more eyes on it, and now you got the old subs who are gonna keep the network to watch the takeovers plus any new fans who get the network to watch the takeovers after discovering the weekly show

losing the weekly nxt show isnt as huge as you think it is for the network.

I do think it runs the risk of losing the integrity of the show by being on USA, like VHS alluded to. I think it runs that risk because there's clearly more eyeballs being on NXT by being on USA and if that's the case, Vince is going to be involved. If Vince gets his paws on it, there's got to be a relatively high chance that the product begins the suffer. What people like about NXT is that he presumably doesn't do much with it and you can noticeably tell. If the product begins to suffer, people aren't really going to be as engaged in wanting to see the Takeover events. I think it'd take a while for that slippage to come across but I do think it's possible. It obviously remains to be seen what changes will come. Vince will likely be involved in some form or fashion but the guy is running out of hours in the day to keep track of everything.

It's also somewhat puzzling from USA's perspective. They basically have made their bed with WWE in mind. Raw, Austin's show, Miz's show, now NXT. Are they kicking themselves in any way for just not retaining Smackdown?

I am pretty sure WWE would've went to fox either way. i mean why would they not ?

also, network still has NXT UK and all the takeovers. I'm also guessing they add something else that we don't know about. maybe evolve or something for true developmental

I may be wrong, but I thought the gist was that USA never put themselves in the mix for Smackdown, perfectly content just having Raw, so WWE was shopping Smackdown to other networks. That doesn’t make a lot of sense, especially considering what I outlined for what they have on their network.

They’ll definitely add Evolve or things of that ilk. I’m sure we’ll see more Mae Young tournaments, too.

The WWE wouldn't be doing their due diligence not shopping Smackdown around knowing their deal was coming up. I would be shocked if it wasn't in their plans to see what other tv deals were out there even if it was just to get more money from USA

Right, I get that from WWE’s perspective. I don’t really get USA’s perspective. Basing it off memory, either USA felt they were going to be priced out, or they had no interest in retaining Smackdown and was good with just keeping Raw (which I understand to an extent). Raw was the driving force for their network and the ratings, Smackdown was nice but not pulling in the same amount. If they were just dead set on keeping Raw and not willing to put in any extra effort/cost for Smackdown, I can see the idea of just letting it go and avoiding the extra cost, even if that’s the current cost of doing business. But if they’re getting NXT, I do wonder if they kind of wish they didn’t have that stance so they could just be the outright home of weekly WWE content. There’s WAY too much content a viewer has to sign up for on a weekly basis but from a network perspective, that’s huge chunks of your week already established and you don’t have to scrounge up as much original content to fill the remaining time.

I mean how much revenue gain can there be for either side if Network subscribers are lost and if it bombs on USA clashing with AEW if Vince gets his paws on the creative side when he hasn't even or barely watched NXT up until now? Fair enough the Network still has the TakeOvers now, but if the weekly show format suffers then the TakeOvers could suffer too.

Either WWE are more scared of AEW than they're letting on or they're just trying too hard to monopolise everything to make sure they're the only game in town. A little bit of competition is healthy and I hardly think this would turn into another Monday Night Wars situation if they just let AEW have their Wednesday slot unopposed.

Anything that gets eyeballs off of AEW and onto WWE is great. I hope the first NXT show on USA is stacked with talent. NXT stars from past and present. Maybe tease that AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels match. Don't even tease it, let it happen.

They probably will pull all out the bells and whistles for their opening episode if USA get it, but what's the gain long-term and will Vince keep up attention? If they overload it too much every week with main roster talent every week to compete then it just ain't NXT anymore and defeats the purpose of the brand. Little bit of star power here and there is fine but don't go overboard with it.

I just find the NXT TV show to not be as exciting as RAW, Smackdown, or the TakeOvers. I think it's because it is a developmental system and they are testing the waters. I think some changes will need to be made to make it a must see show every week. I like the idea of NXT becoming a 3rd brand, while Evolve becomes what NXT used to be, a developmental show.

I suppose it comes down to personal taste, but I enjoy NXT is because I like tracking the developmental's progress. Also it's not just all developmental, they bring in their fair shares of indy and international vets too. It's in its own universe and an alternative to the main shows.

If it became just another third brand the same as the main shows, then in my mind that would be overkill when there's TV time overkill as is. Whatever floats your boat though.

I basically consider it like a 3rd brand. I know a lot of the wrestlers get "called up" to the main roster but with the names and how the takeovers sell out, it's more than developmental.

Oh it's definitely got some star power like with indy and international talent which I mentioned plus crossovers from the main roster are fine in moderation. It's still essentially in its own universe though because it doesn't mix with the main roster storylines. If Vince makes it a carbon copy and mixes it withnthe Raw and SD stuff then it loses some of its magic.

0 interest in it. I have the network to watch the occasional PPV and to rewatch older stuff. Especially late at night when I am on baby duty. My brother does the same thing and we share the account.

NXT has caused me to realize that I like the entertainment part of sports entertainment rather than the sports part. I'd rather sit through an episode of Smackdown Live! to find out who someone's attacker is than watch a 45 minute Gargano/Cole match. I do watch the TakeOvers, but I feel most of the matches are way too long. Give me 5-10 minute matches.

Pretty much agree with this, actually.

Rewatched that show last summer and that match is fucking awesome. A really good example of how you can make intergender wrestling work.

That whole show is pretty much a masterpiece.

So you can no longer add series to a watchlist correct? Or am I missing something?

    Nigel McGuinness depresses me.

I just watched Table of Honor and for me, he cuts a tragic figure. I swear I can see the hurt in his eyes when they are all discussing making it to WWE.

Nigel should get his own magic special on the Network. just him going around doing tricks for the other wrestlers 'n' shit. Could be great.

Nearly at the end of my WCW PPV marathon. Last night, Halloween Havoc '92. A tale of 2 halves. First half of the show is very good. Austin/Williams Vs. Windham/Rhodes is an excellent match. Loved every minute of that one and it must have gone 20+.

But the last 3 matches on the card, my God. None worse than Rick Rude Vs. Masahiro Chono for the NWA World Title. What the fuck was this? Apparently, they had a great match in Japan weeks earlier, but this was brutal. 22 minutes of rest holds and a screwy finish. I'd love to know the story behind this one. Seriously so bad, it needs to be seen to be believed.

I have Starrcade '92 next and then 1993 and 1994 to get through and I'll be done. So probably some 14 shows.

I don't think you could get me to watch a Rude/Chono match.
I don't know anyone who would advise that.

Rude is known for some good matches, and Chono too, but ... they all may be countable on one hand.

I sat through Hogan/Chono and my back hurts just thinking about it.

So my debit card expired and I need to update my account info with all my online payments, streaming services etc.

Well for some ass odd reason you can't update that kind of info online with WWE. You have to call a fucking number. Like it's 1900 or some shit.

And get this. The number isn't even a 24 hour service. I can't do it now because it's too late. I'll have to call back tomorrow.

No big deal but it's hilarious how broken and old their payment system is.

Now that would be the smart thing. But I don't want to lose my place in the 297 shows I've watched 8 minutes of and will never finish.

    Never had this happen before.

I'm finding my place in this NXT episode and you know the little picture window that pops up above the search bar that shows you what's going on as you're fast forwarding or rewinding?

It's of a totally different thing. I don't even know what it is but it isn't the episode of NXT I'm watching. Very odd.

I have seen a interview of him on Jimmy Kimmel/Fallon (I forget as it was years ago)

He was still the ABA though so if he has done one as the Deadman I don't know.
