Apparently its going to be a Netflix like service for $10 a month, featuring Raw, SD, PPVs, Main Event, Superstars, NXT and all previous PPVS and the like. If that's the case they are more than welcome to all of my money.

If it's like Netflix where I can watch whatever, whenever, I'll be in on it. Especially at 10 a month. If they include PPVs, they could get a lot of people subscribing who would just stream otherwise. 10 for RAWs and past shows and 15-20 to include all shows would be a nice way to burgle my wallet.
I want them to debut the eagle belt that they showed as a runner up to the last belt as the new undisputed title. So much cooler looking.
I suppose the minimum we're getting are most of the pay-per-views, old pay-per-views, and Raws, Smackdowns, ect. from the past year. Presumably all the DVDs they've released too. If they really push it and start adding a lot of stuff from their tape library this could be pretty amazing. I'd love to be able to watch old weekly episodes of Crockett, World Class, Mid-South, Georgia, and Florida.
It's supposed to have a 24/7 live stream as well. So we'll still get RAW at 9 PM on that stream which is pretty cool. Question is, what does this mean for USA Network and whatever network Smackdown is on?

They still want the big money for their TV deals. Raw and SmackDown would only go on the Network as a last resort.

Imagine if they just opened their entire library. PPVs, Raws, Nitros, documentaries etc all on tap. If it included the PPVs too I'd gladly pay £20/month+.
They got Mid South a few months ago and have already released a DVD.
If they opened their whole library it would be fantastic and I'd definitely buy it for the 10/month that everyone is throwing around as the likely figure. But one concern that's been raised that I think is definitely worth thinking about is that if all non-major PPVs are going to be put up on the channel for subscribers rather than broadcast in the traditional PPV model, the quality of booking and of PPVs themselves is very likely to suffer.
Its a bit harder for me to work out being from Britain as they work things different over here. How much are the PPVs over the US $40/$50?
I just can't see them giving up PPV's and then also Raw Smackdown from the networks for less money than they make from them now. Maybes its more of you'll get them but get them delayed or a couple of days later and still ahve to tune in or pay for the live stuff.

The idea is that Raw, SmackDown, Main Event etc are still on cable networks like USA so they get the big money. Then 11 out of 12 PPVs go to the Network. Not including WrestleMania but 30 may be on the Network as a kind of one-off incentive (as long as you take a, say, 6 month subscription). WWE are keen to get all the revenue they can from their product without around half the PPV money going to the distributors.
If its an internet channel then I can't see a problem in doing it abroad. Even as a channel I think Sky are bound by law to have to sell a channel to whomever wants one (within reason of course) via a set price. Thats why you got channels like Boxnation running from there even though it runs in direct competition with some of skys products.
The network could potentially do wonders for long-term booking. It would free them from the tyranny of needing to pop a good buyrate every month. Subscription channels like HBO tend to be more interested in the overall quality of their shows than the actual rating. It doesn't matter whether or not people are actually watching particular shows, it matters whether or not people are subscribing. No more panicking after a buyrate comes in low and deciding they need to do another Cena/Orton match to keep the buyrate above water. Instead they should be able to focus on a longer trend of building stars.

No, they don't need to blur the WWF Attitude "scratch" logo.
Footage of Benoit will be seen, although not actively promoted, with a disclaimer at the start.
We don't know yet if specific shows will be added & removed on a regular basis, or if you just watch what's there or have a choice of various options.

Of course, there was also a whisper that he was backstage at SmackDown in Philadelphia yesterday so who knows what's the truth?

I love non-employee JR.Even though I am no longer employed by WWE nor do I foresee ever becoming a WWE employee again, I am certainly pulling for their success with the Network concept.
The Network will re-introduce some of the great old school memories that many of us long time fans have plus educate an entire demographic of young fans as to the vanishing art form of in ring story telling and extemporaneous speaking.

JR's opinion of the show today is a clear testament to how different things have become. He's seen things go from lifeless, to mediocre, to decent, to excellent, all the way up to iconic status... and now that we're experiencing such a crossroads of "sports entertainment" it's interesting to see what he really feels about it. He loves the business, just not the current presentation of it. And I don't blame him. While he's as old school as can possibly be, I still feel he knows exactly what stinks and what doesn't. Love the guy.
I really wish he would get with Jarrett and try to make something of a viable competition for the wwe.
JR could really breath a life of fresh air into a company given some reign. I don't think he will ever have the vision that Vince has had but i just feel he could help push a product to another level.

At the San Francisco Mania press deal they said they need 1,000,000 subscribers a month for this to work. Less than 4 million watch Raw. I am leery of this being a hit.

Many many people have cut the cord (cable) and watch TV online already.... (+ Hulu/Netflix/etc..) It's the present and future.
Right now, the price point is such they're going to get a lot of people 'illegally streaming' PPVs to buy in. Even if/when the price goes up, the price is insane.
That they're offering live content (PPV's, etc...) for $120/yr (I expect that price to rise sharply in the future), but it's going to be a hit. People have been dying for a la carte from cable companies (i.e. paying $100+/mo bill to watch 5 of 160 channels)
