Beginning Monday, February 24, WWE Network will only be available in the United States. WWE Network is scheduled to launch in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Nordics by the end of 2014/early 2015.
I'm interested to know these select programs. Ads are what keep me from subscribing to Hulu.21. Does WWE Network programming contain advertisements?
Most WWE programming on WWE Network will be commercial-free, however, there will be limited promotional content in select programs.

It's worth the money for the PPVs alone but I really hope they add like every episode of Raw, SD and Nitro unedited. That's what really excites me personally.

Sounds like it might be less complete than we expect with the RAWs, Smackdowns and PPVs actually. Should still be good and have a lot of stuff though. But oh man that DX stuff, really really really bad.

I'm guessing they'll roll out the old Raw and Smackdowns year by year or something like that. All the PPVs and all of the DVD releases is pretty fucking awesome. I'm a little worried about how this will effect their DVD sales but if enough people subscribe to the network I suppose that won't matter.

What what I read on the FAQ, all TV-14 and TV-MA programming will be available with a disclaimer. Parents and opt to block them, but nothing will be edited, including Benoit matches, which will also carry a disclaimer before they're shown.

Where did they say it was all the TV? They said something like RAW and Smackdown replays and NXT and Main Event and all of the WCW, ECW and WWE PPV's but nothing about Nitro or Thunder.
They said your favourite Raw and Smackdowns. That could mean anything, but most likely a hand-picked selection of classics to begin with.
Anyone know if its going to be certain content at certain times like an ordinary channel, or whether you basically watch what you want when you want?

I think they want to do a Monday Night War series, which I hope covers the 90s at a fast pace. I don't see why they'd want to upload every episode of Thunder, Smackdown, or even Raw. I don't think most of that shit is worth going back to watch over again.

It's apparently launching with 1,500 hours of footage and adding on from there. Seems like it's going to work like a Netflix for wrestling, and they'll text you when a new show is gonna start or something like that.
You won't have it 'til the end of the year, though, if it makes it that long and it'll probably cost more for everyone, us included, by then.
What I find absolutely fantastic about this is that they're "revolutionizing" by essentially giving a big FUCK OFF to the PPV model.
NO ONE is going to buy PPVs conventionally when they can subscribe to the WWE Network for $10 a month AND JUST GET THE PPV as part of the service.
What a windfall for the fans.
I wonder what the restrictions are on them launching this globally now. Preexisting tv deals? If that's the case then why not just release the vault stuff to start with? I just want this now basically.
Also while it seems inevitable that there will be a price increase after six months, it would still be great value even if they doubled it. Can't wait.

The axe WWE swings at youtube is going to be painful. They'll aim to remove WrestleMania V and yet they'll take all uploads of Jake the Snakes theme with it. Or that nice tribute to Classy Freddie Blassie from 10 years ago.

I am sold, take my money you have earned it, but I am very nervous about Wrestlemania. If this works and they have such a high demand and my wrestlemania party gets Fucked up I will not be happy... I'm sure I would get that $10 back but hope they can keep up with the demand for such a big event.

As someone that cut the cord (cable) awhile back, I've been waiting a long long time for the big FUCK YOU to cable/satellite providers. This is a wonderful start. (UFC will eventually follow suit offering ALL their PPV's like WWE Network is on their new digital service)

All that said, $60 for 6 PPV's (plus all libraries+) is robbery IMO over next 6 months . 6 PPV's for the price of nearly 1.

Bryan Alvarez is reporting that there won't be a month to month option. Only the 6 month one.
They better have Thunder on it. That may sound like me taking a piss, but I miss WCW and being able to watch and fast forward that at my will could be such a bonus. For the price, I'd be doing it were it just PPV streaming for six months.
I wonder if the price point will have increased by the time we get it in the UK, and if it will be the same price as the US. $10 is like six pounds. So 36 pounds for six PPVs plus all this other stuff is incredible value.

Guess it really depends on what deals they get worked out with us a and advertisers. I remember them saying (well dirtsheets) that a bigger emphasis was going to be put on raw and smack down (with smack down going live) as more money is generated from the shows.
The ppv's being put on here could be the indiciation that this is happening. Obviously the rumble and mania (possibly summerslam) will stand apart but this could be the direction they are heading.
I'll get this regardless, but if the entire library is included, I'd happily pay triple.
Yeah as I said earlier if they put every Raw and Nitro from the MNWar on there they have earned my money.
The chance to watch them in the best quality available, uncensored and without commercials makes me cream my pants.
I would fucking do a vacation around it. Buy a week's worth of food and booze and lock myself away from the world. Episode of Nitro then an episode of Raw.
That's the crazy thing that can really put it over the edge, though I'd imagine it might only really grab weirdos who read news and posts on forums.

If I wanted to watch the current product I guess, but since I have no interest in their current TV and PPVs being stuck in a six month contract just for the old stuff doesn't work. If I could do a month here or month there and marathon a bunch of WCCW or Mid South that would be cool. But six months a pop does not fit with what I'd want it for.

Maybe they'll offer one-offs later on at higher rates, once they have sufficient numbers in longer term deals or depending on how it's going.

WIll be tough to sustain based on price point over time.
But, I think there's a massive audience of 'digital/internet-only' individuals (that have ditched cable altogether) that want an ala carte TV viewing option. (Currently with Netflix/Hulu/ etc.. Only). JMO There's many many many more than 4 million people that watch WWE RAW per week. Those of us that watch it online aren't counted in that. I know everyone in my family alone have ditched cable for Netflix/Hulu and the like due to price of them (vs. Directv, etc...)

I am absolutely blown away that you can get EVERY PPV in history…plus ALL the current ones live…along with other Monday night content…for $120 a year. That's insane.
I would honestly pay three times that.
My prediction is they launch it at $9.99 a month, and then when they fall short of their 1 million target, they raise the price to $12.99 or $14.99 after six months…which I will still gladly pay.

This is pretty fucking awesome. I also think it will prove to be smart business in the long run. Pay-per-view is dying as a medium, and avoiding having to pay the providers for airing the show is huge for WWE. I don't have the exact numbers for their pay-per-view revenue from last year, but I feel like it was in the $160 million range. Break even point there is about 1.3 million subscribers per month, but that's before you take into account that they don't have to pay the providers anymore. So 1 million subscribers will probably do it.
I don't have a strong prediction on success or failure, but I'll put it this way: In my entire life as a wrestling fan I have never paid for a pay-per-view. But I will be signing up for this on the very first day.
They are going to fucking destroy Youtube. Burn it straight to the ground. It's going to be like MLB, where you couldn't find anything on there. I think MLB finally smartened up now. Hopefully they just remove shit that competes with the network (full shows, pay-per-view matches) and leave stuff that isn't competition and just promotes their product (themes, highlight packages, non-pay-per-view shit).
I hope this succeeds. And I hope they have non-WWE classic wrestling programs. We need Georgia Championship Wrestling, Crockett, World Class, Mid-South, AWA, Portland. They've had that stuff on On Demand, so hopefully it makes the transition to the network.
