    Bayern/PSG/City/Napoli please.

We had a tough group last year and that didn't go very well. I'll take CSKA, Olympiakos and Austria Wien thank you.

The guy has missed a fucking trick when Johan struggles to open those balls.

I don't understand why with 4 teams left Bayer could only go in our group.

What happens if one of the other 3 teams had been given Pot A? I'm assuming none of them could be for one reason or another, but that seems mad. Also why can't a computer just come up and tell me if that's the case?

    Arsenal/Dortmund/Marseille, Bayern/City & Milan/Barca. They were all together in 2011/12.

Pretty happy with Schalke and Basel.

    Arsenal have got it tough.

When are we ever expected to go through? We'll still do better against Barca and AC then any team in England (outside the top 4-6) could ever hope to.

I don't mind a tough draw but that's a boring draw too. We played Dortmund and Marseille two years ago and Marseille a couple of times before that too.

Arsenal's group is nowhere near as hard as you are all making out. Marseille are shit , Napoli have Pepe Reina in goal and we've all seen his gradual decline. The fact they want Skrtel to improve their defence says a lot. Dortmund will be a test but it's hardly an impossible task.

Napoli are the ones being overestimated. They are hardly one of the best teams in europe they are about the same level as Arsenal.

Dunfermline had a mixed week. Unbelievable 5-4 win at the weekend followed by a 2-1 defeat to big rivals Falkirk. I did hear one of my favourite ever chants at that game though.

Course they are. They aren't rivals with Falkirk at all. I've never heard such guff in all my life apart from choosing to support scotland and England that absolutely wins on the levels of pish felt or talked by any human ever.

If anyone here is from Falkirk they should be removed from the forum. 1 - it's a shitehole. 2 - it's full of scum. 3 - they are fictional rivals with arsenal/Dunfermline/rangers/Scotland/England so it would make Andy happy.

Probably offside for Antonio Valencia around the goalkeeper.

Just the three reasons to disallow that. Evra offside, Valencia offside, foul on keeper. Pathetic from the officials.

    Atrocious decision for the goal.

United fucked the signing of Fellaini up a fair bit obviously, but I don't know why so many people were questioning the idea of him going there. He's shown already he is exactly what they have been lacking for a lot of seasons now with his physical presence in front of the defence. He gets the foot in and wins high clearances and moves the ball about well. When he came on against Palace on Saturday and tonight United actually look like they have a proper midfield for the first time in absolute years. Kagawa adds some guile and movement too, rather than Young twatting the ball at the first defender over and over.

Valencia is way too ordinary a player for the CL, however. He's not even particularly pacey and his strength seems to have deserted him. He was woeful last season after being very good the year before, now he's probably about where he is - a decent, hard-working player but too one-paced to be a real attacking threat. It'll be interesting to see how much time Zaha or Lanuzaj get, they are already more interesting players.

The pace of United's play in all their games I've seen this season has been really slow, I see some pundits are mentioning it too. I don't see how that would be a deliberate move.

Rondo has just scored a stunner.

Seriously, what's the story behind Casillias?

Ronaldo just scored a belter to complete yet another hat trick. Bale got an assist just after coming on as sub too

Diego Lopez has done nothing to deserve being dropped since he came in when Casillas got injured last season. He stopped Madrid getting hit for about 10 on Saturday.

    Casillas went off injured tonight.

However Lopez was superb on Saturday, man of the match and saved the game for Real. He doesn't deserve to be dropped.

No idea he started tonight, Ancelotti has started Lopez all season though, right?

Just seems odd, after it Mourinho had done the same.

Can't decide which game to watch tonight...Chelsea vs Basel is bound to be a shitefest and I've got a horrible feeling Arsenal will go raggo on Marseille. Might be a hipster ponce and watch Napoli/Dortmund. Barca/Ajax and Atletico/Zenit look decent as well.

Don't know why anyone apart from Arsenal fans would want to watch their game tonight. Marseille are shit Joey Barton was a regular for them last season for fucks sake. Complete walkover for Arsenal.

I hardly saw any first half because Sky Sports on Sky Go is a load of shit. Anyone else having problems with it? It was perfect before but there was an update for the X-Box recently and now it's unwatchable there and full of shitty problems on the laptop too. Wankers.

Celtic seemed to be doing ok but now I've had to go to illegal streams and Bloodzeed is showing Arsenal.

Used it on my phone over the Summer and it was fine for the cricket.

Once Arsenal scored, I flicked over to the Chelsea game. AND WHAT A CHOICE THAT WAS.

The most stupid thing he did was so blatantly change his direction to go and kick him. If he'd brushed him before he started moving away he'd probably have been given the benefit of the doubt.

I struggle to care for Champion's League group stages.

It's a nice day for someone like Charlie Mulgrew to go up against Iniesta and Xavi, but as someone not invested in either club, I'd only care to watch it in a 'Barca play some nice football, I might flick between that and The Great British Bake-Off' kinda way. The same could be said for so many matches tonight.

I really think the Champion's League needs to trim down. I know that there are reasons why it's such a big deal (And working for one of the sponsor's I really should buy-in), but the group stages are a bore.

Looking forward to City/Bayern tonight. If City defend the way they have been recently, Bayern could rip them apart. I think City need at least a point tonight, just to prove to themselves that they aren't doomed to be shit in the Champions League every year no matter what.

Can't believe Lennon is defending Brown. Pathetic.

So frustrated at Lennon and Brown taking the club back 5 years last night.

Brown is an idiot for doing that and giving the ref the decision to make. I can't believe how the actual incident is going over so many peoples heads and they're saying the challenge wasn't that bad or he barely touched him. He kicked out. There is intent. It's a red.
Brown also gave away the stupid free kick off the ball in the middlle of the park that led to the Milan goal a fortnight ago. I don't know what the fuck he's playing at but I thought he had eliminated that shite from his game.

Lennon trying to deflect it by saying "oh look Iniesta gets clapped of and Neymar gets booed what does that tell you" is fucking ridiculous. Any tricky winger in that position feeling a centre mid kicking out at them would have done exactly the same thing, and trying to villify Neymar to take the heat off Brown just makes him look like an idiot.

Such a frustrating night. If that Mulgrew header goes in its a different story.

Still, best case scenario - We take 4 or 6 from Ajax and Barca do Milan twice, and were sitting second or level second. Have to hope.

Scott Brown doesn't have anything else in his locker but total arsehole. Lennon is a total mug for defending him, and actually going as far as to say Neymar was in the wrong shows what a wretched cunt he is. Manager and Captain for fucks sake, make Celtic look like the circus most of the CL sides expect them to be.

Eh, probably went a bit far there pal. Shouldn't be defending him but I don't think we're in any way expected to be a circus?

We beat Barca last year and they said this was their toughest match all year. We've beaten Milan, Barca, Benfica, Shaktar, Benfica, Man U and whoever the fuck else over the past 5 years. Fuck you on about?

This is a bit much. Why would "most of the CL sides" see Celtic as a circus? They're a perfectly well-run club, unlike their Glasgow neighbours.

Lennon was defending his player in public, as any manager would. He's hardly going to hang him out to dry for the media, is he? Further, Neymar IS a diving little bastard (although he's not been as bad at Barca as he was in South America), it's worth pointing it out so there is scrutiny on it next time Barca play Celtic. Plus Barca had Sergio Busquets on the pitch last night, fantastic player but one who puts Scott Brown firmly in the shade when it comes to extreme wankerism.
