By the looks of things Myles plays Torn and if he wins he will win the tie breaker. I play Issac Yankem so the winner is in if Myles loses. I cant imagine Myles winning and the winner of Yankem and I making up the difference in the tie breaker.

Congrats to Christopherson on winning the $80 prize for being the regular season champion. Still $320 left to be decided.

Torn remarkably finished with the 4th most points in the league but finished 4-9.

It's a two week matchup so it's not even close to being over. Hell even if it were a 1 week matchup you'd still have a good shot what with Forte putting up good numbers for you.

But that WAS an impressive start for him so I feel ya.

Oh really it's a two week match up, cool. Funny because, first thing I thought was where was my bye, then I noticed only 4 play off teams, then I was counting up the weeks and I'm like we're going to be finished this two weeks early. Then I thought well the final will be two weeks at least so it's only a week short, maybe he's done that because the last week can be filled with garbage team players with nothing to play for. Regardless, the moral of this story is Chris doesn't read things very thoroughly and yeah I'm stilled pissed at Dave and his hulk smash all over my face after the very first game.

Last year I had a 19 point lead after the first week and still lost, so I'm counting on nothing. That said, watching Murray run through that Chicago D again and again was a great way to start my Friday morning.

Yea this playoff system (2 rounds of 2 weeks each) is standard for ESPN leagues

Is there something mentally unstable about Sanchez, the useless cunt does know that Maclin is their best receiver, right?

Christopherson is 22 pts up on Dubya going into the final week. After his blow out comments he had an absolutely massive second week against Dave and the title is now his to lose!

It wasn't just his second week - Leveon Bell put up something like 40 points in the first week and he had a healthy lead going in to the second week.

Bloody Leveon Bell is a Ronaldo-esque cheat player at this point.

Speaking of him, Christopherson's early games have not gone well and the monster that is my man Dez has had a huge game, however he still looks on track with Bell and Jones to come and most of Dubya's team having played. Might be close though!

Brown with another TD. I don't have the fantasycast open but I imagine that will put Dub in the lead. And I think Bell might have gotten hurt earlier too.

Yeah I think that was the dagger to Chris. He will still walk away with $120 between his winnings for being the regular season champion and playoff runner up while Dub will haul the $280 championship prize.

Disclaimer the game is not over yet but looks like Bell won't do anything else.

We may have a problem with this, just went to withdraw it there and it's hitting me with bullshit about either withdrawing via Amazon gift card (full amount), obviously not doing that, e-cheque ($5 cost), which I would have done but is only offered to US bank account holders), so I can't do that. This leaves me with paper cheque (express is $7 and takes 4-6 working days or standard which is $2 and takes 10-14 working days), so I'll be picking either of those options, however from my memory I will charged again when I try to cash a U.S. cheque into my bank account. What happened with Torn/Dave last year? I just thought they would refund it back onto the card they originally charged the first time. This is a shitty deal us UK guys get with this payment method.

    Hmmmmm

I would ask Torn what he did last year, I believe he didn't have any problems. If I recall correctly he was also the one who suggested using this site to begin with. Looking at the terms on the site, you're right that paper check is the only option for international users. So yea I guess it's that bank fee that's worrying you. I don't really know much about cashing US checks in foreign bank accounts but I can't imagine the fee is too big if there is one? Let us know how it works out.

I'm open to changing sites or just using PayPal next year if this was an issue

Just to be clear I wasn't directing any blame towards you, sorry if it came accross that way. I could be wrong about the bank charging and if I am wrong then there's nothing to worry about, I just know about 6-8 years ago I had a cheque in much the same way as this and my bank charged me to process it. Plus you'll be right about the cost, it won't be 'crippling' or anything just the annoyance of companies getting my hard earned dough lol.

Still can't talk about that final, my therapist recommended me to store it away in a wee tiny box far far away in my head and never to open it up again.

Received the cheque yesterday and took it to the bank today, the fuckers do charge you to process it. They where trying to hit me with a £15 (about $25) charge at one point but ultimately it ended up as £5 ($8). Annoying but not the end of the world.

Cool well I'm open to using a different site next year, or you guys can just paypal me if that would be easiest. I have no idea what's convenient for non-Americans in terms of transfers and payments so if you've had experiences in other leagues that worked out well, let me know.

    LEAGUE RENEWED

Sign ups open. We had 10 last year with a $40 buy in but would be open to pushing it to 12. Chances are someone will drop out as well.

To those already in: I'd be open to keeping the buy in at $40 or upping it to $50. Thoughts?

We've used LeagueSafe.com the last few years but we might switch it up so either that or PayPal. Whatever's clever.

    Returning Players:
    1 - Torn - Confirmed
    2 - Matthew - Confirmed
    3 - Christopherson - Confirmed
    4 - Knee - Confirmed
    5 - Myles - Confirmed
    6 - Dave - Confirmed
    7 - Fro - Confirmed
    8 - Sinner
    9 - Dr. Isaac Yankem
    10 - Dubya

    New Players:
    11 - Caito
    12 - Mikey_Jones
    13 - Beefy (Alt 1)

We'll cap it at 12 but I bet a spot will open up, Beefy. The tricky part is setting a draft everyone can make. It will likely have to be a weekend in the range of 12-6PM US Eastern time based on what we've done in the past.

Do people want to use LeagueSafe.com or PayPal? Or if anyone knows something better..

RULE CHANGE: I'm adding 1 point per 25 return yards (both PR and KR yards for individual players only, does not change D/ST points). This makes a very minor difference in giving a slight point boost to kick returners. Probably won't affect the rankings at all but I think it's a fair and logical addition that's not standard to ESPN leagues. I think I posted a poll about this last year and most people approved.

ALSO... with 12 teams I prefer more than 4 teams to make the playoffs. But I also like the 2-week matchups that a 4-team playoff allows. So I'm not sure what we wanna do here. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks for the message Fro.

Yeah I got hit with fees last year from using Leaguesafe, it wasn't too severe, just annoying. Unfortunately I know of no other site which would be cheaper/easier, so unless any of the other UK'ers know of any site then Leaguesafe seems best .

Okay unless anyone has a better idea we'll stick with LeageSafe and I'll open it up in the next week and people can start paying and then I'll open it up to alternates as time goes on. We will likely have 12 players this year instead of 10 so if you have a preference please vote on which playoff format you would like:

    A) 4 teams get in - each round is 2 weeks each - regular season is 13 weeks
    B) 6 teams get in - each round is 1 week each - top 2 teams get a bye - regular season is 14 weeks
    C) 6 teams get in - each round is 1 week each - top 2 teams get a bye - regular season is 13 weeks (*No Week 17 play)

Or suggest something different. I personally like C the best in a 12 team league. End it on week 16 so we don't have to deal with people sitting week 17. Matthew I'm going to have to nix having 8 teams get in, if you were serious.

    Returning Players:
    1 - Torn - Confirmed
    2 - Matthew - Confirmed
    3 - Christopherson - Confirmed
    4 - Knee - Confirmed
    5 - Myles - Confirmed
    6 - Dave - Confirmed
    7 - Fro - Confirmed
    8 - Sinner
    9 - Dr. Isaac Yankem
    10 - Dubya

    New Players:
    11 - Caito
    12 - Mikey_Jones
    13 - Beefy
    14 - hithit
    15 - Judas

I've dropped out of one of my cash leagues for not getting paid winnings, so add me to the list of alternates as I have newly available fantasy football time.

Also not that I'm in the league, but I'd definitely go with option C.

I like A the best. One week playoffs suck if we're playing for money and lets face it the regular season also needs to matter instead of finishing 6th and still getting in.

The number of teams affects the league a lot. Even the switch to 12 makes the player pool a lot shallower and 14 is a whole new story.

TBD. If we have 12 players we'll have a pot of $480. Just to throw out some numbers similar to what we did last year, we could do $320 to the champion, $100 to the regular season champion and $60 to the playoff runner up. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah I'm with you, no divisions this year.

This would work our well for scheduling (everyone plays everyone once) but I agree with Torn that 12 is a preferable number of players. With 14 the draft is long as hell and teams are weaker. I'm not entirely opposed to 14 teams if people were in favor of it but I think 12 is the way to go. Right now there's 3 players from last year who haven't confirmed that they want to return so it would leave us with exactly 12.

We'll go with option C for the playoff format as everyone seems to agree. This is assuming we do have 12 players pay in, if we go back to 10 we would stay with the original playoff format (4 teams).

I know what you mean but it does genuinely change the game, there are other leagues like the VIP one which featured an all RFF final of Mikey vs MMH last year and plenty of Morrison rage which you'd be very welcome to join. Anyway I'm sure at this point you'll be in this over the people who haven't checked in yet.

Yankem hasn't posted since January so I'm guessing he'll be out. Dubya also hasn't posted in months but I PM'd him since he's the reigning champion and I assume he'll want to defend but we'll see if he comes back on here in time. Sinner hasn't posted in over a month as well. I think 12 will be enough to get just about everyone in. I invited Caito and Mikey_Jones to the ESPN league already.

I love PPR. I assume PPR slept with Fro's mother for him not to even consider it amongst all his other OCD inspired tinkers with the rules

Obvs the VIP league is PPR but I don't think there is a benefit to making it cash tbh

Someone explain the appeal of PPR to me. It makes receivers more valuable. Why not also add point per carry and point per pass attempt? I'm really asking. I'm not fundamentally opposed to it, I just don't get it. We're already in an era where elite receivers get more yards than almost every RB.

Okay so Sinner and Yankem are both yielding their spots so we got:

    1 - Torn
    2 - Matthew
    3 - Christopherson
    4 - Knee
    5 - Myles
    6 - Dave
    7 - Fro
    8 - Caito
    9 - Mikey_Jones
    10 - Beefy
    11 - hithit
    12 - Dubya (unconfirmed)

    Alt - Judas

Dubya won the league last year so I won't give up his spot until next month sometime. I'll get the payment website renewed and out to everyone soon.

Draft time is very much up for discussion but just as a starting point, how's this?

Per reception rather than per carry and pass attempt should be obvious, the amount of points QBs and RBs get would go through the roof for no real reason. Besides, catching the ball is a skill, receiving a hand off isn't.

The main benefits for me are that it makes scoring less reliant on hard to predict, fluky touchdowns on a week by week basis, and it levels out scoring between positions particularly between RB/WR and QB. Remember pass catching running backs get a big boost too. I'm not advocating a change in this league for it, I like having the two Rajah leagues I play in have different scoring, and you can give it a try in the VIP league and see what you think. I do it enjoy it though.

fro, i will get payment to you hopefully by this weekend.
draft time should be good, but it is a ways away, so that may change for me.

You have more options. Possession receivers become more important. Tight ends become more important. Someone like your boy Shane Vereen (lmao BIG BLUE) can become a big deal. Fucking Reggie Bush was viable in a PPR league.

The tight end who grabs 6 balls for 50 yards makes everyone take a wider look, as does the third down back who grabs 8 check downs for 80.

Okay so no need to rush to pay but it's open and I sent emails to everyone to whatever email you had used for LeageSafe last year. Me and Torn are already paid up. We can call July 15 an unofficial deadline where if you're not paid by then I'll probably prod you and your spot could be given up (Judas: Dubya is still MIA so figure you will likely get a spot whether from him or another dropout).

You can also pay by clicking this link:

Fine by me. It's a matter of how late the European folks can go. I don't know where everyone is exactly. Are people okay with 5PM NYC - 10PM London start? Draft is still tentatively scheduled for Sunday August 16th (though it's probably a different date for you Myles lol). Not set in stone but it'll likely need to be a Sunday or Saturday in mid to late August.

That would be fine with me as I'll be in summer holidays. Also fully on board with the date - it's just before my August gets crazy (New York followed by Reading Festival). And it's payday for me on Thursday, so I should be paying up by the end of the week.

If Dubya comes back then Judas can have my spot and I'll learn the game in just the VIP game this year before taking your money next season.

What are the scoring rules? I'm not digging through the thread for them. I know there's no PPR because Fro is from New England ie: a retard

your guys have to get yards or touchdowns or complete passes to get points

your kicker has to make field goals to get points

your defense has to get turnovers and prevent points from being scored

have you ever watched football before
