The other option here gents - we draft in the thread instead of a live draft. We could stretch it out over several days. But it's not ideal.

ESPN leagues are divided into 2 divisions. How many non-US players do we have? Could be cool to divide the divisions by USA and International if the numbers work out.

Well the logic there is we could make it 8pm or 9pm or whenever UK night time so you all would be home from work already. On a normal weekday this wouldn't work because USA folks wouldn't be home from work yet. But since that Monday is a US holiday it's a special case

Monday works fine for me. Option 1 works. But I would rather it be $300 for winner $60 for regular seeson winner $40 for playoff runner up.
Yeah I would be okay dropping the payout to the 3rd place finisher. I put that in so that the consolation match between the 2 players who lose in the first round of the playoffs would actually be worth something... but I'm fine with dropping it. I would suggest however:

Wait, why wouldn't Torn pick AP, have I missed sonething?
He might, but take a look at the numbers McCoy and Jamaal Charles put up last year. Peterson is the best RUSHER but McCoy put up over 2100 rushing + receiving yards. Even when AP put up 2000 rushing yards he was barely ahead of what McCoy did last year when you combine rushing and receiving. I would probably take McCoy tbh.

I'm very happy with where I got some players, and my first two picks were what I'd hoped for beforehand. I seemed to have a run where players seemed to just drop far enough (Crabtree, Smith, Jackson and Wright) as I expected to see them go off the board before it got to me. My glaring weakness is at QB, as they went off the board a lot quicker than I'd expected and I didn't adjust.

I don't love my team. I think it's got high upside but it's very fragile with Newton, Foster, Bush and the Johnsons all being injury risks. I like that I grabbed Rivers as a backup QB - I'm good with rolling him out when needed. I like my whole bench in fact.
ANNOUNCEMENT
It's occurred to me as I look at my schedule that while I previously (before the draft) switched the divisions around to make it USA vs International, the schedules did not update accordingly. The schedules are therefore off of the typical system of playing each division opponent twice and each non-divisional opponent once. I can therefore do a couple things to fix this before the season starts:
1. Swap back Christopherson and Dave into the "USA division" where they were last year and place Knee and Yankem in the "international division". The schedules will be unchanged.
2. Adjust the schedule but keep the current divisions. Chris and Dave's schedules will be swapped with Knee and Yankem's entirely.
3. Screw divisions. Top 4 seeds make it. (Change to 1 division)
4. Do nothing and the schedules will just be slightly off of the traditional division format.
Thoughts? I think we should fix it for divisional balance.
#1 will be the easiest and will have no effect on the schedule so I figure it's what I'll do if no one objects. It will just foil by plan for geographically divided divisions but oh well.

As the season starts tomorrow, I will make the change tonight. #2 is fine and that's what I'll do unless anyone else speaks up. #2 is what should have happened anyway when I changed the divisions but for whatever reason it didn't (not sure if I didn't check off the right box or what). I don't see any sort of competitive advantage here but just want to make sure no one opposes a schedule change, and it appears no one does.

Okay after thinking this over and gathering your feedback I'm going to make an executive decision here to go with option 1. My reasoning: I don't want to change the schedule post-draft and have someone say "well I was supposed to play Dave in week 1 but due to the switch I played Torn and instead of being 1-0 I'm now 0-1 you jerk!" The schedule that has been listed for months will be unchanged for the sake of not changing anything that could (likely would) affect the outcomes of matches, even though that effect would be essentially random. I will just change the divisions back to account for the listed schedule - the divisions will be the same as last year.
I agree, and I'd be fine with this option, but everyone else seems to like the divisions given that they wanted option 1 or 2. It does work out perfectly such that you play your division opponents twice (8 games) and your non division opponents once (5 games) for a perfectly balanced 13 week regular season, so I like that. The only way divisions could fuck things up is if the top 4 teams were all in the same division and the 4th team got left out because the other division winner got the automatic bid despite a worse record - but statistically speaking I think that's nearly impossible given the aforementioned division schedule system.
