I'll have some more specific questions about this game (thanks, guinea pigs)when it's finished, but would other people be interested in this kind of game? I know it's not for everyone.
I mean, I'm all in support of deadline lynches that don't require a hammer, and I'm fine with games with no roles. But I know most people hate role-less games. This one will probably be fine since it's a micro version, though, so the game won't last forever.
I would like to experiment with a basic set up like cop9(9 players, 2 mafia, 1 cop, the rest vanilla), but again, I think anything that comes close to that just bores too many people here. Especially if Vanillatown and The Law and The Gun were any indication.

I agree on the faster pace. Regular phase times for so few people isn't actually going to generate much.
I have 0 interest in no power role games. The fun to me has always been analyzing the write ups.

So, as per the original setup, (https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Lovers_Mafia) should day phases be rolling until a majority is reached? There are pros and cons, but mainly games don't end on a random event.
Could drag on too long.
Random can motivate people.
It's wonky at the end, but so is people procrastinating indefinitely.

How about in the event of a tie the earliest vote wins? Maybe encourages more participation and also discourages procrastination.
As a mechanic, I liked grims decreasing bar. Every couple hours it took less votes to lynch
Can someone run a game with power roles? I am not sure if anyone is aware but bert would like a game with power roles please.
Does anyone have anything? I'm tempted to try running something but with my NES Countdown it might not be the best time. Tempted though if no one has any ideas.

I've got a few ideas. Mostly just things I've day dreamed at work. If no one puts a game up soon I might take a whack at it.
I have an idea and might be brave and implement it but will require time, work, re-watching some episodes and given the theme, save it for closer to Halloween. Will prob look for input from someone like Grim first too.

I’m trying to think of a way to do this but could be difficult and unfair to scum with Judy potentially ratting them out and ending the game.
I might have an alternative to the Judy/Jake dynamic if they interact each other.
Don't steal my gimmick.
I'd only have Judy be able to tell Jake who the godfather is if the scum group. Judy would be neutral and seeking out jake. This could give judy two win scenarios. One, he could sit back, stay neutral and survive to win or find Jake, turn town and win.
You could also devise the role for Judy to turn scum as well and if Judy finds the select scum member first he betrays jake and gives up the location of say Holt or Pimento who is in the witness relocation program.
Just depends on how you want to play it.
I’ve sent a rough draft to Grim which does involve the two seeking out each other but these are also good ideas. Can tweak.

Nine Nine is also spoilt for choice for scum. It’s initially a 16 player draft but may make adjustments.

Psycho and Mikey were such a big help in the last game I was just trying to like get my head round it all really, then they were both lynched I was like oh shit I need to run this thing for town then I was lynched...
I tried to do a psych impression in the mini game. Didn't work.

Just as an aside from skimming the brooklyn 99 thread... I sort of agree with JP. I don't mind night chat but I think I might disallow it if I ever did a game again.
Can see the pros and cons... Meh.. We'll see.

As a way of keeping people involved and interested, it's brilliant. The problem is, it's such a massive town advantage, when the point of town is they don't know who each other are AND they can't talk during the night phsae.
I have a few ideas of how I could offer incentives to keep conversation going in the night phase that isn't game related, but I'll offer those ideas after the end of the current game.

As it’s getting brought up in my current game a little bit, I’m leaning towards the side that the town advantage seems small but if JP has incentives post-game I’m willing to listen at the end of the game.

Just sent Jarrod my suggestions for tweaks. He has a really cool game setup. Will satisfy those who want more traditional games without as much mindfuckery for his more unique mechanics, while also being zany and fun in a way that will leave both town and scum satisfied. Really, as a base, his game was pretty balanced as it was.
Just sent in my 2nd draft to Psycho. I've really enjoyed coming up with everything and hope everyone will enjoy what I'll attempt to do!

Super Mario Bros Super Show/Captain N: The Gamemaster/The Legend of Zelda cartoons from the late 1980s with other NES flair.
My son is apparently a fan of Capt. Lou dressed up as Mario dancing around. So I've been watching these cartoons a lot lately and had thoughts. Plus, the NES countdown list I'm doing, I've been seeing plenty of characters.
Neat. When I posted that I thought it would be interesting to do a game that crossed multiple platforms.
DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, LOTR, etc.
Which this has now reminded me of the batinthesun batman vs vader vid. God I loved that.
I was always upset that there was never a Captain N game.
I also found this weird. Seems like a natural fit for Nintendo.
