Obviously didn't comment on this at the time but I assume this was because someone flipped scum? I was genuinely worried that would happen when you pitched the idea, so I put a modifier in that you would be corrupted if you ever got a vote so any reveals would be the opposite of what you said.
If people are happy to wait till next week, yep. I've got a few episodes of Season 1 to go. And I promise it's an actual Mafia game.
For anyone that hasn't read dead chat yet, I got a call earlier today to tell me my contract is finishing up 5 weeks early on account of this whole pandemic shenanigans... so I will have a lot more spare time over the coming weeks. We can smash out The Wire, Star Wars and whatever else whilst we are all locked up/down.

Yep. When JP flipped scum I was peeved. After I got lynched the 2nd time though I felt free to just go nuts. I wish I would have went nuts from the get go.
I've actually got an idea for a game that would involve minimal roles and write-up work, but a way for everyone to get involved. Basically, there's one cop that's randomized each night, and instead of lynching, a townie is given a gun each phase. They shoot who they wish to eliminate, with influence from the other players, and if they're wrong, they die and give the gun to their target for the following phase.
I think I'll call it The Law and The Gun.
Probably be a smaller game as a bit of a breather after The Wire.
The other idea was for it to be a mostly vanilla game, but on D3, someone is randomly given a gun to do the same thing.

I do like the idea of a brief respite. The week or so seems good after a few consecutive.

If you want to run that before The Wire, that's probably a nice change of pace. And I still have episodes to go, so I won't be starting till I finish those.

While I am looking forward to the Wire, getting in a different round in after this week might be good.
But whatever order after this week sounds fun.
Unless I miraculously get a job, I am looking at 2-3 months sitting at home doing diddly, so I am more than happy to have a non-rushed rewatch of the last half of season 1 and flesh out the roles before jumping into it.

Oh I'm definitely down for the Wire. I hadn't watched in its prime but after seeing talk of here on how great it was, I bought and binged the DVDs in about 2 months. Omar in court was the stand-out scene for me.
Psycho's mini-game sounds interesting too.
When I was looking at different concept games last week, i stumbled across a variant that looked interesting. Basically everyone is on different gangs/tribes and you know who is on your group. There are still night roles, and day lynches. Try to bargain, power role hunt the other gangs until victory.
Seemed like an interesting concept.
This might be a mad idea for a concept and possibly too imbalanced. Say a small game of about say 10 or 12, you only have one scum but a jester as well to cause mindfuckery. Maybe a serial killer too.
Could that work? Obviously not all the town would be powered.

Won't get into any specifics, as its going on, but this game has been interesting and its a fun concept.
I'm kinda hopeful that someone else gets a game going after as well, because this has been good distraction during this time period.
I have been kicking around ideas based off the kinda survivor mafia/hybrid I saw.
The game would be different in that its not town vs. mafia. There would be a set number of teams (maybe 3 teams of 6 or four teams of 5-something like that). You would know who was on your team, but not who was divided up on the other team.
Each team would get the exact same roles.
Each day phase there would be a lynch, and there would be kills at night.
The daily lynch presents the opportunity to make some choices in how a team hides or discloses its role, and potentially has some opportunity for betrayal/alliance-builds etc.
Dying would mean you can't participate in the thread, but would still be allowed in your team chat. No dead chat.
There could be variations, but each team would have a killer (in some capacity), doc, and restless spirit. I've been kicking around thoughts on the other roles.
The set-up would be pretty transparent. The gameplays I've read (briefly) are more on strategic moves than siphoning out the mechanics.
Would this be an interesting concept to any?
Played a game with that concept a year or two ago. I'd be game to give it a go again.
I'm kind of hoping that someone sets up another regular mafia game next, cause i'd like to play a few more times before my next host.
But I'd good to add that concept into the rotation some time soon, if there's interest.

It's moments like these I wish Rajah could handle the technology of Mafia Universe. Their site DOES keep track of all that. I could probably manage at some point to try and collate all the info for basic things like Percentage a person rands town or mafia, wins and losses, MVPs, games run. Though, it would probably be a lot harder for things like "arguments won." I do like the idea, but it would take a long time to put everything together, and not sure when I'd have the time to go through and do all that.
That's why I tossed it out there. I don't have the time to do it either but holy shit it'd be cool
