I've decided on only playing games I'm familiar with source material. I don't know why but those games keep my attention while others I have a hard time devoting the time to.
Another game of thrones or wrestling game would be lovely. Anyone ever done a Monday night wars game? Could be really fucking cool. Ecw as a mafia with WWF and WCW as town/Nuetrals. I really loved the massive star wars game too with people traveling between planets.

Breaking Bad hasn't been done has it? Would be fucking awesome. That's top of my list of games I want to see. I'm not super sure how it could be done but it feels like there is potential.
Dexter could be fun too but probably tough to put together.

I think there was one successful Rajah-themed mafia game. I know there was one JP was setting up when all that admin/mod drama was going on, but he decided not to do that so as not to offend anyone.

The Office is something I'd love to see turned into a mafia game.
You could almost do a regular mini Mafia with a monster of the week type deal set in X-Files/Supernatural type deal.

Just went through an old file on my Google Drive which has the roles in for a space-related game... I read the character bios I wrote - I don't remember writing them at all! It makes a really outdated reference so it must be years old (google docs said I started in 2014 then updated it in 2017 .. so.. no idea). It has 15 places, might be ridiculously imbalanced...
...might wait till Survivor is more whittled down so as not to distract anyone in it - it's a much better game than mine will be!

The time has come again for the Mafia Championship Tournament. As a finalist last year, I will probably be doing jury duty, so it'd be up to someone else to go for glory. It's a fairly big adjustment, as the post volume is much higher than it is here. But it's really fun to mix it up with people who have played Mafia in all sorts of different places.

I sleep days so I'm afraid I'd get voted out simply for working nights. And I can go a whole day without saying 10 words yet alone post 10 times.
There are a good amount of non-US participants as well as people who mostly play late at night, and people are put into games with the most compatible timezones/start times/etc.
Just something to think about.
Maybe, but I'm also pretty busy at this point. Competition season's coming up and I'm doing my pharmacy diploma which is a real time eater.
The start times are anywhere between April and June, so you could have a game start outside your busy season.

Was finally voted out. It is hard with everyone being able to role claim. It clears so many people so quickly. Gonna have to adjust my style for the championships.
Yeah, I'm not too sure how I feel about the current set-up. Last year, there were minimal roles, so you couldn't do a massclaim like what happened in your game. From what I understand, a big key to that is finding ways to fakeclaim without getting outed. So it'll be interesting to see how this tournament shakes out.

It is a very poor set up because as soon as everyone mass claims then when you use your role you are outed as town or mafia.

How does the mafia win? Just shit talk town so people mislynch? How does town learn who the bad guys are?
It's basically all based on reading people, vote analysis and whatnot. The things we lynch on when we don't have info. It's just a way of making the game more about reads and less about mechanical information.
It's almost not mafia at all then. More like a "hunt the jester" but you actually want to lynch the jester kind of deal.
Eh, I mean, when I play I don't go purely on what we get from the night phase anyway. It's not like mafia magically make their selves completely innocent to where sketchy play is automatically a jester. All scum posts are scum-motivated, so there's a difference in tone and content, regardless of how well the player can mask it.
Ultimately, the game of mafia is a game of logic and deduction based on figuring out who's telling the truth. I don't think the lack of power roles changes that. It just alters the approach to finding the truth.
But how do mafia kill without a power role? Or is it one single night kill and that's it?

Interesting idea. Gives me an idea for another game though... need to focus on one instead of workshopping 3 or 4 ideas in my head.
