Is there going to be a mini game running alongside the Pony game? Won't be playing as a bloody pony but might be interested in a smaller game.

Since not everybody is in the My Little Mafia game but an interesting question was bruoght up I thought I'd post it over here. How does everybody feel about games starting on the first night phase instead of the first day. It seems that several players would rather skip what's starting to feel like a formality of voting No Lynch for day one so we can get some information to work with. I can see lots of ups and down to it or even potential tweaks.
We could give out D1 powers or something as well if people thought that would be a good idea. Just throwing it out there.

doct, there are some games that do start at night. I just personally like the Day 1 phase. Let the players make the decision, rather than the mod.

As far as I can tell this is the most up to date queue for Mafia Games. If anybody has changed feel free to correct it. And yeah some of the games I saw on Mafia Scum were really intimidating but it seems like it's fairly standard to have two Mods as well and that probably simplifies a lot of stuff. They also run some truly massive games that I have no idea how anybody gets to the end of.

I'm sorry Rip, what did you float that I missed? I tried to throw everything in that I had noticed suggested just to keep things in the front of people's minds.
I was looking at some of the games over on other forums and some of the strategies they mention and wondering why we have a role claiming rule. (I thought about nixing it and then decided one change at a time was enough for a noob like me and decided to put in a scoring system so that purple guy who always wins on day 4 isn't THE winner, but A winner) It seems that the longest game has lasted eight days. When you factor in that the Mafia can LIE and not only claim roles that aren't theirs but with their resources they can make it look convincing especialy since they are still the only ones who can talk out of thread (and even if they weren't the town can't safely conspire with each other for fear of bringing in scum) that by the time you cessed out who was honest and who was lying it would probably be too late unless the Mafia just went all in and made it obvious.
Since I'm noticing two Buffy's I'm kinda curious if anybody has any special requests. I'm kinda floating (depending on anticipated participation) a sort of three way. You've got Buffy n Friends, vs the Order of Aurelius (Master, Spike, Dru, Darla) vs Wolfram and Hart (Holland Manners, Lindsey, Lilah, Mayor Wilkins.<~~ I know, I know. But no matter what anybody says I know that guy had a contract.) vs Glory. Basic concept same as usual. The Order are brutes and have kill actions and protections primarily, W&H have all the tricky stuff. At the moment I'm thinking a governor, a vote stealer, a double voter and a (I forget the name of the role, but basically they have two players who they can request actions from via PM.) And Glory is after the Key. Unlike our standard game if she wins, everybody loses or something happens to change the status quo. I'm quite a bit a head of myself at that point but I'm liking the theme.
Please tell me it's like 5 power outages and 2 hospitilzations. If it is may I recommend a lap top so you can simply laugh triumphantly (or take it to the hospital and laugh triumphantly) at your victory. If it's the other way around. . .would you mind being my plus one to a wedding? I figure worst case scenario I'll have a valid excuse for why I don't go to weddings afterward and best case mwahahahahahaha

Oh, so making up your own cartoon but themed on 80's cartoons? I could dig that. I definitely recommend doing something that you MAKE UP as a first game, not trying to tie it to a predefined character set.
Sort of, the premise was a world populated by characters from old cartoons that no-one watches anymore, sort of a retirement home, but people start disappearing as there is only so much 'power' left to go round, making two/three factions trying to survive.
Or Flash Gordon of course...
I'm on my first game of Mafia but writing in general for me has always been easier when I work with someone else's characters than my own. The energy that I waste trying to define why this guy is this guy is better spent on why he's doing this for me. Personal preference, I can definitely say that Grim's Mini Mafia really showcased his skills as a writer better than Star Wars did. (Not that Star Wars was poor but if I didn't know you didn't plan the Mini Mafia I wouldn't have bought it.)
I like the idea of 80's/90's cartoons and the Dark, it's similar to a concept that I have in my DnD worlds but rarely does anything. It should be a fun Mafia and would make for an incredible read at any rate.
The Dark almost sounds like The Nothing from Never Ending Story...
Yeah they use way to many vanilla roles from what I can tell. I guess it makes it more challenging but I like, so far, what everyone has done with the roles here. I like the twists. I am still tweaking roles for my RHPS mini game so everyone, at some point, will have something fun to do.Really? I will look it up.

It would be the current season - Megaforce. The beautiful thing here is that MF is an anniversary season in which past Rangers come back, so the game would consist of the current team and the original team, possibly a few other Rangers from other seasons.
Cool, haven't seen any of the new season yet, if pushed I'd have to say Mystic Force was my favourite, but it's close with Dino Thunder.
New season is kind of boring, but they're just biding their time with first half, until the they get to the legend war (pictured above).
RPM is my absolute favorite. No Power Rangers season has come close to its greatness.
We have got to do this with like 25 people and 5 different teams all fighting each other or some crazy stuff like that.

Decide how many players you want in the game, and what the scum faction breakdown will be. The standard is for scum to make up anywhere from 25% to 33% of the number of players based on how powerful the Town is.

Hey Grim. Has there ever been a character with a win scenario to have X number of interactions? Like no one wants to interact with Zoidberg. So a jester like win scenario for him could be interact with characters 3 times during night phases.

I do highly suggest people that want to run one of the big games to try their hand at running a mini-game first.
In retrospect I'm wishing I had done that. There are lots of things that you don't even think about from the players end because you just kinda fire and forget and as good as the wiki-scum is they admit there are various rules that there isn't a true consensus on how they work. And that's BEFORE each of us add whatever wacky flavor things we're going to add.
Power Rangers sounds pretty sweet, if I get to be Lord Zedd. It sounds pretty lame if I have to be a talking dog. I haven't watched that show really since Zeo ended. I've seen bits of Space (Seriously, Ninja Turtle cross over?!

Smash Brothers sounds like a fun world in the same basic way that Who Framed Roger Rabbit would be.
Is anybody working on that Everybody is John idea? I read a sample game and it was hilarious. One of the personalities was (I think) an Islamic Terrorist who won because whenever he took control he'd set up all the propane tanks or gas lines he could find and at the end of the day he started setting them off. Sure he killed John in the process but considering that ends the game there are probably worse plans than that.
I have put together a mini game...pretty straight forward with a tiny twist.
Get it going.
I've been polishing off the write up's for Rajah Wars Episode II. Tis going to be most excellent.
