My apologizes if this is the incorrect place to ask this, but thought it would be a better place to ask, since there is a good amount of activity on this page in terms of fantasy baseball.
I'm in a 16 team league, so the waiver wire is pretty slim pickings and want to get an outside opinion before I pull the trigger.
I have Francisco Rodriguez, Hutson Street and Jason Grilli as my closers and need to get stronger in that category since Grilli is out of the role and going to be tough sailing for him to get it back from Melancon. The only closers on FA are the Rondon/Ramirez combo in Chicago, but there are a few options out there that I could parlay maybe into saves. Would love to get some opinions on my thought process:
-Tommy Hunter: Out of the role now, but could get easily get dealt at the deadline to a team like Cleveland or Oakland who are closing by committee.
-Joba Chamberlain: His stuff seems to be back with a good K per 9 ratio. Getting a bunch of holds and do not know if Nathan is going to be closing much longer, since he is still struggling to get guys out.
-Joaquin Benoit: Most likely to be dealt, but if the Padres end up trading Street near the deadline, probably the odds on favorite to win the role in San Diego.
-Brad Ziegler: Don't see Addison Reed losing that role and the D-Backs offense wouldn't give him a lot of saves opportunities anyways, but his stat line has been consistent with his career averages (sub 3.00 ERA, sub 1.20 WHIP and around a 7K per 9IP)
Personally, I am leaning towards Joba because even if Nathan turns it around, his K rate is solid and I can steal the holds category when going up against teams that are like mine with all closers and no RP.
