3 albums that I've been playing in the ride non-stop for the last week:
1. Twiztid "Mostasteless" (re-issue, have the original but this is the one that I've had in the car)
2. Silverchair "Frogstomp"
3. Deftones "Diamond Eyes"
honorable mention: Cage "Kill The Architect" and Mastamind "Likkuidrano" (re-issue)
I've always liked the re-release of Mostasteless more than the OG. I dig me some Sliverchair and Frogstomp is a dope album. I dig me some oldschool Mastamind too. Not so much his stuff released over the past 10 years. Anyways
I only have Silverchair - Diorama, and I think it's average. I will have to check out their earlier albums.
The re-release of Likkuid kind of sucks, I have the original with only 5-6 songs. The newer tracks just sound like the same shit over and over, "the wicket shit will never die" "imma hellraiser" "rap rock god (with no guitars anywhere on the album lol)". Dude is my 2nd favorite rapper of all time, got to meet him in Flint MI back in 2000 when he dropped Mindzeye and he was cool as fuck. I wish that the OG and re-relase of Mostasteless were mashed together because the tracks they took off were some of the best shit and I really liked the newer ones they did like Rock the Dead, Hound Dogs, Bury Me Alive.
The one thing about Silverchair I love is not a single album sounds the same as the last. Frogstomp and Diorama are like 2 totally different bands. Most people haven't heard them since Neon Ballroom would be blown away and think they were listening to like Coldplay or some softer shit like that. They were very influential for me and the friends I was in bands with because were were 12-14 and you see this heavier band that are 16 from a country not really known for much in terms of music and it was like shit we could do that if we get lucky lol. But it just gave us that fire that you didn't need to be 25, 30, 40 years old to tour, get signed, all that jazz.
Dug up this old track from an old HD, and revisited an old favorite of mine.

Just stumbled across this. Killah Priest is one of my favorites, dude always has bad ass beats and something important to say.
A decade on and I still love these two songs. Nostalgia, maybe.

You know what album I've been listening to that is surprisingly very good? Linkin Park's Hunting Party. Got it for free on Google Play a week or two ago and was very impressed with how solid of a ROCK album it was. I remember reading years ago Chester saying that the positive to LP is that they could do a Slipknot record, then do a Moby record, do a punk record, their sound doesn't box them in and they can get away with doing a straight up rock record after 2 industrial albums because at the start they mashed in a couple different genres and have tried to be different creatively. I respect the hell out of bands who don't box themselves in creatively no matter what.
Hell yeah (kurt)Donald(cobain)! I've busted out the box set they dropped in 2004 and it reminded me of these gems on youtube. I'm sure they have hard copies but I never knew about them until last year or the year before. Plus if you peep the side bar, you will find a link to the Fecal Matter demo tape which was recorded with Dale Crover from the Melvins prior to Krist joining the band, it's just guitar and drums, pretty sweet.
Listening to Chino Moreno's CROSSES project, just picked it up Saturday, holy shit this one of the best albums I've heard in the last 4-5 years.

I don't know what it is, and I don't typically like music that doesn't include actual instruments, and I don't know what those of you into I guess would be more electronic music think of them? I don't really know.

Seeing them next week in London. Got tickets immediately after I saw them at Citadel Festival. Can't wait.

Was coming in here to post this. Heard this song on the radio and immediately fell in love with it. On the strength of that song alone, I picked up the album. It's fantastic.
So since I'm not posting that now, I will post this instead:
Saw this band open for Finger Eleven on my birthday and thought they were pretty good. my wife liked them enough to buy the album and got it signed by two members of the band. I've been listening to it at work lately and dig it.
Currently I am in love with Janine And The Mixtape.
