Once he figures out how to juggle fatherhood with getting over being banned for baiting arguments he'll be back 100%!!

His matches with EC3 we're pretty cool IMO it was a good feud that ended way too soon.

Been wondering what the heck happened to Hero. I don't venture much into the Asylum, so I thought maybe he's been active there. I figured he was just over WWE related stuff.

I attended 2 of the 6 tapings. The 2nd & 3rd. Not bad shows at all, some good stuff to look forward to:

Overall I was never bored. Which I have been bored at previous tapings. Give it a chance on TV and see if you like it.

got a beautiful 6mo baby girl bouncing on my knee right now as we watch WWE network together. I'm still into wrestling, just don't feel like spending much time here anymore.

Low Ki has left GFW/TNA several times over the years and returned. Maybe putting him in the World Title picture had built his hopes up too much as it's been mentioned he thought he was more than an X-Division wrestler.

He must get good Indy bookings and has worked for a large number of promotions so no doubt he'll get good work in the future.

JJ given a leave of absence to deal with 'a personal issue'. Pure speculation on my end, But I saw someone in the Triplemania thread say he appeared drunk on the show, Could it be he is dealing with alcohol issues?

I'll believe this company ends when I see it at this point. I've thought it was going to fold multiple times for years and it hasn't happened, so why would it happen now? It survives fucking everything.

    Also, Jim Cornette is done.

It depends how much money Anthem are prepared to throw at it I guess. The WWE could well look to get hold of the tape library if Anthem need money. Love the new Thread name btw.

The one thing that always confused me about this company was that the women are great draws, I would go as far to say that they were just as big of a factor as the early days of the X division. But the company never really pushed them to their full potential like they should have. We saw some main events on Impact, it looked almost like what we've seen out of the WWE in the last year or so but I felt TNA could have gone that extra mile earlier. Since they've been from Spike I haven't kept up as religiously as I used to but the women are still the main draw for me.

Ya know, I've been a fan of TNA since the beginning. But this current product is pretty hellish, and I'm disappointed with it. I can barely watch it anymore. I would say it's the worst they've ever had. They don't treat their stars like stars, and when they had more relevant tag teams and wrestlers, like Abyss, Beer Money, etc... Those were the days. They could still make it work even without the likes of AJ and Joe. But this current owner does NOT understand how the wrestling business works. Bleh.

Does this still air on Spike in the UK? I'll have Spike again in December. Good to know my options.

And I thought Gail Kim had retired? Or is that at the end of the year?

They do tape about 2 months worth usually in one week. They commonly do 5-6 days of taping at least 2 episodes a day, sometimes like 2 1/2

Just get Abyss six new characters and have him involved in every match and one of the refs.

Writing must really be on the wall if Earl has jumped ship a day before their biggest event of the year. I wonder if the Refs were actually on contracts or not plus if there was any issues with Brian Hebner going Earl probably left out of loyalty to his son. Earl is 68 years old now so may just choose to retire, he can do the Wrestling convention circuit and whilst I don't see WWE ever using him as a ref due to his age, they approach him for features on WWE Network regarding past matches etc.

Ironically it's 20 years since the Screwjob next week, could Vince have Earl come at at SS and tease another such event.

GOnna find a way to watch Bound for Glory this week. THis is slowly becoming a trainwreck due to all of the cost cutting and transition to working straight out of Canada. Oddly enough, this could be a good thing as they can promote themselves as #1 in the country (kinda serious with this).

The Rosemary/Taya match being canceled sucks.

Apparently a local ref did a 3 count incorrectly in Abyss vs Grado match and called for bell. Luckily Jeremy Borash managed to just about cover it. Well if they will use referees who may not be that experienced it serves them right!

One of the referees looked like a High School kid I swear.

I actually went in half with a friend and ordered the PPV. Overall it wasn't great, but worth the $20 I'd say.

The X Division opener was fun, but nothing we haven't seen a million times. It felt like it never got into the highest gear. The powerbomb from Trevor to Sonjay was DISGUSTINGLY BRUTAL though. Fun stuff.

Random unannounced Tyson Dux vs. Taiji Ishimori match was as good as a random unannounced match where the camera focuses on Laurel Van Ness in the crowd can be I guess.

Alberto promo was very weird. Confusing, he stumbled on his words a lot, he seems to want to use being suspended for beating his fiance as a reason to be angry as if they did HIM wrong? And ultimately it also led nowhere.

Abyss vs. Grado... here's where I started losing hope for the show, as I thought this match would be entertaining at least.... but it tried to be serious, and failed. And was extremely sloppy and botchy.

EC3/Storm/Edwards vs. AAA..... man I was kinda looking forward to this match and it really ended up not being great. Especially with the really weird premise that EC3 was refusing to tag in for half the match... only to eventually tag in and wrestle the rest of the match like nothing happened. Which was forgotten and led nowhere by the ending they just celebrated like nothing happened. Eh.

oVe vs. LAX was good. Had intensity, lived up to the hype as I expected it to be the best match on the show... however.... the ending fell very flat because the crowd didn't seem to know who Sami Callihan was. Which sucked, because I expected the place to explode when he came out. So the silent crowd led to an underwhelming finish.

Gail vs. Sienna vs. Allie was sloppy and boring which again is sad as I thought it would be pretty good.

I popped hard for Jimmy Jacobs showing up!.... and again the crowd was dead silent. Killed the moment. A lot of stuff on this show would have been better if the crowd gave a shit.

The cage match was pretty good. I'm surprised at all the bumps the MMA guys took. Fun match.

Eli vs. Johnny was a good match. I didn't like the finish but they tried to put on a solid match and they did. I actually popped for Eli retaining, as I was positive Morrison was winning and I was actually glad to be surprised. I love Eli Drake and wish he'd have gotten an opportunity in NXT/WWE, he was only ever on the house shows there.

The Tag Title Match, Cage Match, Drake winning, and overall fun of watching with a buddy made it worth the money but I'm not sure if I'd recommend the show as a whole.

iMPACT have put an add out looking for 50-75 'paid actors' to be part of the TV tapings this week.

They are paying for a crowd. Thats rough.

Maybe them moving to Canada and his past legal issues were something to do with it (Just a guess)

Frankly I'm amazed he was allowed to work in the states after that whole beating a cop thing

Theres a lot more to his 'past legal issues' tbf, but they don't fit the big story of 'BIG BAD BRAM WIFE BEATER' so often get ignored, I think he's chosen to work in the UK for the remainder of the year and was making good money at TNA who are looking to cut costs wherever.

    He asked for the release.

Sure, I mean he wasn't found guilty on the DA thing right? But pretty sure he hit that cop and possibly urinated on him after being pulled over on a DUI? So yeah.

But him asking to leave is fair play, I mean, The place is a shit show.

Yeah the DA thing had the charges dropped as her story was nonsense and he was actually asked if he wanted to press charges on her, but he left it. The DUI thing - yeah that is what it is I suppose haha.

If he keeps himself booked over here he will make just as good a living as he would with Impact with less travel/hassle so fair play to him.

To all you younger fans out there, Impact right now is kind of like watching the AWA at their tail end on ESPN after school. You heard about all the great years prior and now it's just an afterthought.

This thread seems pretty dead. Scanning the channls I saw the last ten minutes of the show.

Laughed at the camera work getting a shot of an entirely empty section of seats
Johnny Impact? I know it's not new news about this but it feels like some joke the boss is playing by sticking him with the same name of the show. Were we going to get Johnny Global if that wasn't fucked up?

Sad that guys like Joe and AJ were reduced to what they were towards the end of their run in the company, compared to how they're being used properly now in WWE.

How small is the roster now?

All you ever seem to hear now is releases, they have Eli, Johnny and maybe Chris left that might get a job elsewhere but do they have anyone else on their books worth watching anymore?

I liked Petey Williams before and tuned in recently, I guess that was last week he was part of the main event. Just weird now seeing him part of the top group of people, since they don't really have much else to pick from. It's the price they pay for foolish decisions and not doing more to develop and keep their own talent. That's what it comes down to for anybody below WWE in North America really. You won't survive forever on somebody else's scraps.

To be fair, the only moments of TNA I think I've seen are YouTube clips of Steiner calling Samoa Joe fat and Jeff Hardy drugged up against Sting. What are some good stuff they have?

It was a great little company in 2004-2006. I'm sure it was good in 2007 too, but I saw less of it more and more before giving up soon after that. Have dipped in here and there since, but nothing has grabbed me.

Best PPV I saw was Turning Point 2004. Excellent cage match main event with AMW and Skipper and Daniels. Also an excellent 3 way for the X Division Title underneath. Think it was Styles, Williams and Sabin? There was also a decent more recent PPV. Destination X 2011, perhaps. Hardly recent, but as recent as I go.

As for matches, the series Joe had with Angle. Also, the Joe/Angle/Daniels match from Unbreakable in 2005 is amazing.

Basically anything AJ Styles did in the company, particularly early on. And the X-Division as a whole was excellent back in the early years.

I just got Sky TV again last week and I have set up a series link for Impact. Meh, why not give it a go?

Just look for shows when the roster had Christian or shortly right before he came. That was the best time collectively. After him, I know I'll get shit but I liked that stretch when Hogan and Bischoff were there. Heel Jeff Hardy, Fortune, X division was still hot, Knockouts were on fire, RVD was awesome in TNA. So I guess we're saying what, 2008-2011/2012? I don't know my time frame. I just know that other than stuff involving the Hardyz, the last 4 years of TNA have been a blur to me. Probably the 3 best storylines over the last 4-5 years were the Wolves/Hardyz/Dudleyz feud, AJ Styles v. TNA corporate, and obviously the Broken stuff. I'd even say as mediocre as Dixie is, that whole EC3-Rockstar Spud-Dixie clique and the powerbomb she took from Bubba was decent.

Exactly. Bully Ray was a fucking masterpiece of a character but his crew was totally weak. But that was the norm for a lot of stables for the last 15 years it seemed. That one strong leader and then a bunch of jabronis i.e. JBL's Cabinet, whatever Edge's group was called, the one group that Angle lead with Luther Reigns and some other jobber. Aces and Eights with Bully Ray, Gallows, Knox, and maybe 1 smaller guy as the loudmouth runt that could bump everywhere ala X-Pac would have been fine. They did have that super hot Brooke Adams didn't they? One of the hottest women in wrestling history, wow.

So, Impact is running with this OVE vs. LAX thing?

But clearly, the Canadian live crowd doesn't like OVE. But LAX are meant to be the heels, right? We've got three meth heads from Ohio versus a crew of criminal gang bangers right out of a really racist Clint Eastwood cop movie.

Who the Hell are we supposed to cheer for?

Also, anybody catch the Impact episode from a bit ago where OVE and LAX had their brawl in the ring, Konnan tried to hit Sami with the kendo stick, Sami moved, and Konnan hit the rope with it and just lost it. The damn thing just sprung right out of his hands, off the rope, and almost cracked some poor schlub in the front row right in the face.

    Impact can't afford a lawsuit.

But hey, their arena audience has to earn that $50 payday somehow, right?

I think it'll be another six months before I give watching Impact another try. The last few months I've only watched a handful of times and just not impressed by it. Depleted roster, their biggest consistency is their inconsistency. Besides OvE and LAX I don't know who their tag division is, as I thought Crimson and the other guy were released or left the company.

It's a type of wrestling ring we haven't seen in TNA since, I believe 2014.

I feel sorry for the guy. He got out and then ended up right back there only a couple years later.

It seems Aries does have a reputation of being extremely difficult to work with and I know that both times he was in ROH he was rubbing a few people behind the scenes the wrong way. He posted a meme someone made implying the WWE were wrong for "not having anything creative for him" and releasing him. Then it has him holding a bunch of indie belts like it was validation. Impact...the fuckin belt looks like someone slapped an Impact bumper sticker on it and called it a day lol.

Aries is alright. I can appreciate his work but when he started taking on more of a B-movie CM Punk type persona in TNA it was kind of wearing thin on me. He was good shit in the WWE, it's too bad he's not there because 205 Live with him was pretty damn entertaining.

EC3 and Lashley both finishing up. You'd have thought they'll both be back in WWE by April, unless Lashley still fancies MMA. His lack of involvement in the Bellator tournament might signal his lack of commitment there.
