I don't think I've ever heard him being referred to as Kev Hart before.

No I streamed Season 4 elsewhere. Season 4 doesn't come out on Netflix over here until September. Up until then I was Netflixing it.

It's supposed to go up like 8 to 10 days here after the season finale so that's not a bad turn around. I'm actually waiting on it to come to netflix so I can finish off the 2nd half of the season.

I've watched 5 or 6 episodes of Lost in Space so far. Does it get better? I'm not enjoying it all that much but feel invested enough that I should finish. I feel like the episodes really drag on and some of the dialogue is just downright awful. But then there are also some really exciting scenes mixed in here and there, and visually, it's really cool.

Evil Genius was an interesting watch. I didn't think I was giving away anything major and certainly not the ending. No harm was meant and sorry if people were offended.

Bizarre. I don't want to give anything away. It's kind of repetitive, but at only 4 episodes of 45 minutes, it's a manageable documentary series.

Just watched this over the last few days. Definitely an interesting story but somehow even the short length of 180 minutes over four episodes felt absurdly stretched out. How much inconsequential footage do I need to be shown of Marjorie ranting and raving to confirm that she is manipulative and clearly bonkers?

In the end I felt it was an incredibly interesting starting point that gradually unravelled into a fairly run-of-the-mill case of some greedy money grabbers who weren't as clever as they thought they were. The most interesting part of the entire story - why they made the bomb live rather than a dummy, which would have worked just as well - was never explained or even explored that deeply.

Agreed. They really missed a trick with the angle they played with this one.

    There's another one that's just been released;

It has all the old 2004 episodes which were previously on iPlayer, but also includes the 2008 follow-up and 3 new episodes on this case.

I haven't seen anything beyond the 2004 ones, but I've heard great reviews of it so far.

Oh dang I didn't know they had all the extra stuff I just thought it was the 2004 episodes. I'm only about 4-5 episodes in anyway.

Staircase was crazy. Hope I never ever get arrested in America. The bit that really stands out to me is the woman doing the victory dance after completing an experiment that fits the prosecution's narrative, probably at the hundredth attempt.

I agree. It felt like despite portraying her as crazy, the producer or whoever that guy is was a bit in love with her or terrified of getting sued, I'm leaning toward the former though.

if you're a comedy fan or a fan of these guys, I thought the "My Next Guest with David Letterman" episode with Jerry Seinfeld was fab. They basically interviewed each other rather than one interviewing the other, and it was really funny and insightful. I love what Jerry has become nowadays. He really tells it like it is whenever he talks to other celebrities whether on his own show or other shows. Letterman's trying to be all humble and Jerry is just having none of it. Definitely worth a watch, more so than the other Letterman episodes IMO although the others are good too.

Also I watched the new-ish Dave Chappelle specials (the ones that came out around New Years) and enjoyed them both. The first one, Equanimity, was very polished and funny almost as good as his classic specials (unlike his first two on Netflix from last year which I thought were so-so). The second new one, The Bird Revelation, was more unrehearsed and he talked a lot about the hollywood sex scandals. He said some messed up stuff at the beginning but I thought he brought it around nicely in the second half. This set of 2 specials delivered a lot better than his first set of 2, and now he's likely off into the abyss again.

The wife and I really enjoyed Letterman's new show. Some really good interviews and a lot of good subjects are discussed. Was not expecting it to address such serious issues. Nice change of tone from the Late Show, a different, refreshing side of Dave. Learned a lot about the folks interviewed. Stern was probably the weakest of the bunch.

Didn't pick up any romantic interest but he definitely seemed like he was too close, constantly describing her as Marge felt weird.

Found it all a bit underwhelming. Some of the stuff like videoing her talking to her lawyer feels dodgy as fuck which I guess is why he's releasing it now she's dead

Really enjoyed Seven Seconds. It had similar kind of entertainment value as The Shield and The Wire combined. A real revolting, almost unbelievable atmosphere about it, but compelling throughout. Very watchable.

I'm one episode away from finishing up The Bridge. I don't think the latest season is on Netflix yet, but it's a must watch in my eyes. Some of the best writing I have seen on any show ever.

The wife and I burned therough the whole second season of GLOW in two nights. We both quite liked it and thought it was better than the first season, though not without its flaws. Would have liked a bit more side character development in exchange for a little less time spent on Sam.

Netflix has put up the whole 18 hour series of Ken Burn's & Lynn Novick's The Vietnam War

2 episodes in. Immensely detailed, but worth a watch if this is your type of thing.

They have put up several of his other series as well. The Vietnam one is stupidly good though each episode made me so angry at the sheer stupidity of that war.

I quit Netflix and joined Hulu. Netflix is better (although Hulu is probably better for cord cutters who want new episodes) but I'm going to feast on some Seinfeld, Always Sunny and Happy Endings until Ozark comes back at which point I'll re-join the herd

I've got about 2 episodes left of GLOW season 2, think I enjoy season 1 better, but it's still a really good show.

In the last couple weeks I've knocked out Jessica Jones and Luke Cage second seasons, loved them. Would love to one day get the 5 on Netflix their own movie (Defenders + Punisher=5). I know they won't be thrown into the mix with the Avengers stuff but a stand alone to maybe even bring more eyes to these shows on Netflix.

I love Punisher, fucking LOVE the guy but Luke Cage is by far my favorite show of them all. The soundtrack alone is killer.

Fucking word to that. The Luke Cage soundtrack is killer. I'd love to see the Defenders plus 1 as well but I don't think there are any plans to do any more Defenders stuff at all. Not together in a big group. We may still get occasional crossovers.

I want to see Daredevil and JJ in a longterm story arc. Non romantic. I just think their personalities would jive well.

Daredevil season 2 was rough in the middle. But that fucking Electra storyline just never does for the audience what they think it's going to do. The punisher stuff was good.

DD season 3, if it goes where I think it's going, should be really good.

Holy fucking shit. If you watch anything on Netflix, make it this. Haven't had this level of stomach turning tension since Eden Lake. Absolutely brilliant film.

Looks like my spellcheck was enjoying the fine works of MJ last night while I was watching Terrifier. Yes Terrifer.

Just totally good. So fun. A proper proper sick twisted clown movie. I might watch it again.

Aye, I've just started but enjoying it. Has a more relaxed Broadchurch vibe.

Safe is the stupidest show that has ever been made. The tonal shifts are completely mental, to the point it almost seems like a piss take at times, a gruesome, gritty murder show has random touches of silliness that make the whole thing impossible to take seriously. Great fun though.

American Vandal season 2 has just started. Not seen it yet but would massively recommend the first season to anyone that hasn't seen it. Pitch perfect satire of those Making A Murderer true crime docs.

I tend to watch Hulu more than Netflix, but I just recently logged in to watch Demetri Martin's newest stand up. Enjoyed it.

Yep brilliant series. Loved how the final episode tied back in to those tense 20 minutes in the opener, but sustained that anxiety for double the time. Kept expecting an explosion in that final shot and couldn’t relax until the credits rolled.

exact same kept expecting an explosion.

I have no interest in a season 2 right now. Thought this was nicely done. Rob Stark was brilliant

Finished it over the weekend. What a show it started like a mini Broadchurch but by the end I don't know what the fuck it was. Nigel Lindsay  I don't understand any of it but I enjoyed it for what it was. You just have to realise early on its not a grity missing person story but a bit stupid without meaning to be.

One Punch Man. I first experienced this show on Cartoon Network with their late night blocks of anime about a year or so ago. I don't know WHY but it just caught my eye and is very entertaining.

It's about the Norway attacks, Melly. Mostly about the aftermath and how the country responds, but the first 30 minutes cover the attack itself. 77 dead, vast majority children. Be prepared to watch before you do.

Deevs, honestly, I can't recommended it highly enough. It's upsetting, but it's also inspiring, life affirming. It's Paul Greengrass, director of the Bourne films and United 92. Which, I'm guessing you haven't seen given your 9/11 comment, which is also brilliant (and I'd say a tougher watch, given the scope of the film).

    Operation Finale.

Not sure if it's on US Netflix yet, as it got a cinema release there, but anywhere else, it's a good film about the capture of Adolf Eichmann, the person responsible for the Final Solution.

Tonally odd in places, especially to begin with, but once it finds itself it really improves. One of those rare occasions where the quieter second act is easily the strongest of the film.

I finally got around to viewing It Follows; solid film. I thought it was a very creative story and the suspense was handled well. I liked the build. The characters were good. The ending left it open for many possibilities in the future.

I'm three in and I love it. Granted I wanted to like it because I enjoyed the show runner's work on Gerald's Game. Bringing Carla Gugino and Henry "ET" Thomas with him made me want to like it even more.

But once I started it I realized I would've been drawn in by the story anyway. I love the sibling relationships and the cause and effect we see that the House had on their lives.

    Plus some damn good scares.

Yeah. The most unbelievable thing about this ghost show is that Henry Thomas could land her as a wife.

    She's so pretty it hurts.

it's a marketing tactic. i dont think this shit has ever happened just like i dont think people have ever fled out of theaters or were moved to vomit by a horror film, at least not in the last 30 or 40 years.

You're right. And that's why every horror movie released is marketed as "the scariest movie since the exorcist". At least House on Haunted Hill is good so far though

I've just finished it. (It is now Netflix).

I'd agree with the finale, and the second half of the season as a whole. Really took off after episode 3.

Great stuff. Although the implied moral of "actually not all Muslim women are browbeaten with no agency - check out this one, it's a terrorist!" was...heavy handed shall we say.

Fro I've thought about dipping back into the Office recently, you able to recommend any particular episodes? I suppose "everything from season 1 episode 3 to season 8" is the answer.

I hated that he was shagging the home secretary and honestly kinda spoiled the show for me. It was good but that element was absolutely not required. Line of Duty is far superior cant wait for the new series of that.

BBC have been churning out some great dramas, even if they are a little flawed at times. Bodyguard was firmly in that bizarrely captivating yet utterly farcical and unrealistic space that they seem to do so well. Right now though I can't get over just how bad the acting is in The Informant. Never seen Paddy Considine as poor as this - I've made it to episode 3 and seriously considering binning it off.

Watched the first 3 episodes. Thought it was pretty good. It's made by Mike Flanagan, who did Oculus, Before I Wake, Gerald's Game, etc, and this show might be his best work yet.

Rune, I can't recall if you have kids, but there is some powerful/crazy/cool messaging that happens later on that I think resonates highest with parents. Won't be lost on you regardless.

Hush was a pretty good one, too.

I'm five episodes in. They did a really good job basically telling 10-12 stories over two timelines and not making it feel like it was confusing to follow it all.

Might give that a go then. I'm half way through "Get Shorty" which I intend to finish, I'm behind on Better Call Saul and I've also started Ozarks and Making a Murderer. Need to just pick one and blitz it.

Killing Eve was fantastic. Stupidly good fun. Very easy to binge.

I'm about to start Six Feet Under, only fifteen years late but apparently it's great?

That ending sequence for me makes it the greatest finale of any show ever.

Wife and i just watched the first episode of The Haunting of Hill House and thought it totally sucked. How many eps do we have to sit through before it gets good?

I was hooked after one episode so if you aren't feeling it then it might just not be for you.

All tastes are different but damn, 1 episode in and you're already asking for when it's going to get better? You need to get at least 3 deep because what are you comparing it to where you just gave up so easily?

I always try to get 3 episodes in and then if someone is like "Naw keep going it eventually gets better and you'll be thankful you watched them all." Best example for me would be the show The Shield. I wasn't a big fan of the first episodes and didn't watch it again until the 3rd season when my best friend wouldn't shut up about how good the show was. So I went back and finished seasons 1 and 2 and felt bad for bailing because halfway through the first season it started to pick up and they found their footing going forward.

I just saw all this praise for it so I went in with high expectations and then when I got something that felt very bland and uninspired, I was pretty underwhelmed. And I don't think it's unfair to want a first episode that hooks you, plenty of other shows manage that. We're gonna give the second episode a watch tonight and see how it goes.

EDIT: Watched episodes two and three and we're starting to get a bit more into it.
