Oculus was...ok. I enjoyed the build up but the ending felt flat.
The premise was interesting but there was a much better and fresher way they could have gone with it...but they went the expected, typical route instead and made for a fairly disappointing follow through. The wife and I actually stopped it midway and I pitched what I thought might be the "twist"
Mental patient sibling's not actually the mental patient, the other one is, and the whole evil mirror was a coping mechanism to deal with their dad killing their mom, and the majority of what's happening is their delusions while being confronted with it
. Would've been a hell of a lot more interesting than the standard fair it was. Still, it was decent.
I quite liked some (not all) of the Ferengi ones. They needed comic relief from Rom & Quark to off-set some of the darker themes of the show in comparison to the other Star Trek series.
The Mirror Universe stuff was shit.
I can't stand the episodes with Quark's mother and the Nagus. Quark on his own was great comic relief. Rom had his moments, but could be painfully annoying at other times.
I really enjoyed the early Mirror episodes with Sisko, but the later installments felt unnecessary once the Dominion War took off. I'm surprised Voyager didn't do its own take on the Mirror Universe, with some wacky version of the Borg.
Battered bastards of baseball - really fun doc about Kurt Russell's dad starting an independent baseball team in portland in the 70s. Watch it. It's great
