I completely agree. Love Masters. Love the gimmick. Love the name. And he's a face, and he's over as hell. This is what he deserved in the 'E, and hopefully this will either turn heads back to him, or WRP will become a huge success that creates true competition with the 'E.
Pump the brakes there a little, Deewun. This venture isn't even going to be competition with TNA in the remote future.
I'm a hopeful man, Cewshy. And I have faith it certainly could. Media is changing, and WWE is changing with it. This could just well do it.
And of course, it could well not. I'd rather go down betting it will than to lose my hope, though.
I'd rather temper my expectations for what is still basically just an indy promotion with good talent and strong distribution potential. But I don't fault you your optimism. I really hope it can get there some day too.

Well i'm not sure how it could really go down in flames. Its not like this is an insanely huge venture. Its just an indy promotion that has had a lot of time and effort invested into it and has some interesting ideas. Probably not that much buzz because its not available yet. All we get just now is "behind the scenes" stuff ala any other TV show, and if you're not interested in that, you're not interested.
True buzz can be assessed once they start promoting it for sale or whatnot.
Despite nothing about WRP making the main page previously, Daniel Pena apparently thought Chris Masters' new gimmick here worthy enough to bother making a news item.

This is pretty exciting stuff. Yeah, there's a lot of familiar faces from WWE, but at least they make an effort to alter their gimmicks and looks. The promotion hasn't even started yet, and already it has a unique vibe to it. WWE might actually have some competition 3 years from now. Based off what I've read about them though, they don't seem like that type of promotion at all.
I hope they reveal the stage and ring set up soon. I'm curious what kind of look they will have going on. I'm guessing somewhat dark with a gritty-but-modern feel.
That Aphrodite's face could be used as a washboard, though.

Pearce doens't have anything special going on about his character from what we can see in the picture, with his name, and his tag line...unless he's a sexual predator, which is sort of fucked up.
Doesn't matter, though. I love Adam Pearce. I'm sure he'll still be entertaining.

Definitely going to PAY for the DVD of this because a) I like the idea of being able to sit down and watch an entire "season" of wrestling with a story arc like a tv series boxset and b) might as well support anything that is fresh and "alternative" in today's wrestling landscape, and if its actually good (I'm confident it won't completely suck given all that we've heard thus far) then BOOM.
No release date has been stated other than "First Quarter." I assume that means February or March.
And I will definitely be owning this. Might be one of the first things I buy on blu-ray, just to go the extra step. Hell, maybe buy a few and give them to friends. Gotta support the alternatives, especially if they are good. And I can't help but think this is going to be stupendous.
Aye got to say this sounds so intriguing that I will have to buy the DVD. Did the guy doing it get a job offer or something out of this even before release? Or have I completely made that up.
