I just can;t get into All Japan. I'm three shows deep into NJPW's recent big events and they are just so much more enjoyable than anything AJPW is putting out at the moment.

Is NOAH going tits up by the way? I have a friend who's just got back from a few months with them. Forgive my ignorance, but are they still the cheeky underdog?

All Japan started the year out so brilliantly that they were my favorite promotion; they had a fairly expansive junior division that was more than "Prince Devitt and his JOB-Squad", several foreign talent exchanges, Sekimoto and Okabayashi helping their tag division huge, SUWAMA and Lil' Soya being the best home-grown tag team All Japan has had in YEARS, and Akiyama doing more with the Triple Crown title in the few months he held it than the last seven champions combined.

Now Lil' Soya was forcibly retired thanks to his moronic older brother, the junior division is back to square one, Sekimoto and Oka are no longer "full time" as it were, and Akiyama is no longer the champion. Basically everything they did to progress in the last year or so has gone down the toilet. And now they are having a number one contender's match between Joe Doering and Akebono for Christ's sake, and I'm probably the only person on these boards sado-masochist enough to LIKE Akebono.

And NOAH is rapidly going tits up, yes. Since Misawa's death they've mismanaged virtually everything and everyone and really nobody watches their shows anymore. They're finally pushing KENTA to the main event, and if it doesn't work they're pretty much done for good.

Manabu Soya will be taking some time off; oculomotor nerve paralysis and a herniated disc in his neck.

Also, new owner Shiraishi is having his own crazy-coon moment, talking about wanting to get rid of 'match-fixing' in wrestling. Between this, his calling everyone minus Nagata and Nakamura in New Japan shit, and his Crusade against Kenso, this guy is clearly crazy, but with all the attention he is clearly getting All Japan, at this point crazy is what they need.

Crazy like a fox. His interactions with Kidani make me think they're collaborating.
