He'd lose to all of them, hell he lost to one of them when he basically had it in the bag.....Sadly for him he's going to get knocked out and Anderson will probably be fined & suspended for throwing Herb Dean out of the way to soccer kick him.

    Look everyone! It's a hater!

Chael Sonnen would ground fuck both Wanderlei and Bisping. If you think otherwise then you are insane in denial.

I want to say that Wanderlai would beat him but nothing that's happened recently really backs that up.

He would definitely beat Bisping. Not enough sprawl to stop Chael.

    I'm a hater too then.

I think he'd murder Bisping, but for some reason I think Wandy would be able to handle him. He has pretty good takedown defense and I just see Sonnen catching a ton of knees going for a takedown on Wandy. I'd like to see the fight.

Shogun.. he may be able to wrestle him to death, but once they're on the feet.. Shogun has him.

Lesnar's not even worth talking about in this scenario.

GSP/Sonnen intrigues me the most out of all those, to be honest. Don't know where I'd stand on that one, but I'd love to see it.

All that aside, I think Silva murders him in the next fight. Dead. So none of this matters.

Sorry dub, but I have to disagree on both Wandy and Shogun. Anderson is arguably the best striker in MMA. Why do you think Shogun would do better in the standup department than Anderson did? I'm not saying he would BEAT Shogun, but I'm not convinced that Shogun would do better standing than Anderson did. Fighting Chael, you have to anticipate the takedown at all times and even Anderson Silva got rocked in the standup from Chael because he was waiting on a shot.

And also, I don't think Wandy can stop those takedowns under pressure. It would take someone with tremendous wrestling credentials to prevent Chael from landing on top of you.

We can't forget that Chael Sonnen can be an extraordinarily stupid fighter. Even without acclaimed credentials, Wanderlei and Bisping could both probably submit him from the bottom if he gets sloppy at all.

Chael showed quite a few holes in his game, as usual, that I feel any one of those fighters he shit on could capitalize on and win. Anderson was hurt, maybe not crippled, but hurt....

Hahah come on Uncanny that was obviously tongue in cheek.

It's funny how this time last year the worst possible thing that could happen was "the most boring fighter in the UFC" Chael Sonnen laying all over Anderson for five rounds to win the belt... now we've all seen the light

I didn't think he'd be that much of a pussy and take my neg rep and go public with it. I just thought he was stupid for calling me a hater when nothing said was "hateful" toward Chael.

Chael won the belt? The only light I saw was a guy who was hurt getting handled until finding a way to win....That was the light of Anderson Silva proving once again why he's the man.

You're an idiot, I'm a hater because of what I said? Far from it, should've paid attention to my posts where I said I was actually a fan of Chael's, just not of his shit talk. In no way did I "hate" on Chael by saying he was going to get soccer kicked for talking all that shit....

Obviously judging the posts after mine I'm not the only person who thinks Bisping could beat Chael. Go jump on his bandwagon .

You recent Chael converts do realise that he lost a lot of fights to very inferior fighters to the ones he's addressed there, right?

I think he is extremely capable of losing. I also saw the Nate Marquardt fight. He showed tremendous heart. He also dismantled Anderson worse than any fighter has ever done, and when you look at the caliber of fighters Anderson has faced, that speaks volumes.

If it takes Chael 23 minutes to make a big enough mistake to cost him the fight, he wins every fight that isn't a title fight.

    This Ultimate Gracie is awesome.

Fight Night was pretty good. Marguardt blasted that idiot. Very impressed with Cole Miller's performance, he's really turning into a threat, so is Jim Miller-who I think will more than likely get a top 5 LW next time he fights.

One thing about 155 is theres a lot more wrestlers and thats what he wants .. is to be on the ground with people. He's amazing off his back. really just good on the ground in general.

McKee just finished making comments that the UFC never signed him because of racism, which really doesn't make much sense for a company that is so diverse.

His record is fantastic (25-3) and the last person he lost was in 2003 (against Karo), so I'm glad to see him on the roster. Very interested to find out who he fights first. That being said, of his 25 wins, only 7 of them come from stoppage.

McKee is the originator of Lay n' Gray. He can be a beast when he wants to though.

Nate mentioned that he wants to fight either Vitor, Wanderlei, Bisping or Okami in his next fight. I'd be happy with any of those.

I finally got to watch UFN and TUF last night. I had softball playoffs on Wed. night.

Cole Miller was kind of a joke on TUF but he's definitely NOT a joke anymore. The guy gets better every time I see him. I think that if he continues to improve, a match against Nate Diaz would be really interesting at some point.

Miller was impressive as always but I don't understand the 30-27s from two judges. I thought Tibau took at least one round and that it was a close fight until the third when Miller began to pull away. Either way though, the right guy won the decision in the end.

Oliveira looked really good but I think he lacks power. He hit Efrain at will and yet he seemed to do no damage. It's Nate Diaz syndrome at 155 where they are so tall and lean that their strikes lack an edge. I wonder if he might be better of at 170 where he can build some power. Then again, maybe I'm totally wrong and the guy's power is just fine. Either way, he had really slick stand up and that was apparently thought to be the weak part of his game so that's pretty scary.

Palhares is an idiot. NEVER stop during a fight. I love that everyone and their brother checked Nate after the fight and found nothing wrong with him as well. It makes Palhares look even sillier. It's too bad, the little bit of grappling they did was really good stuff. I was hoping to see more.

Not sure Oliveira is lacking power. 6 of his 14 wins are by KO. He threw a lot of shots that I think would have KO'd nearly anybody at 155, but they were at least partially blocked every time. With those long legs and the speed at which he throws them, I think all he needs to do is keep throwing leg kicks and then slip one high.

Time will tell. KO'ing guys that no one has ever heard of is different than KO'ing the guys in the deep UFC LW division. I'm going off of one fight, that's hardly fair to him. It was just an observation and subsequent musing.

At 155 very few guys have real KO power, so having decent power is fine. And KOing guys that no one has ever heard of is no different to KOing "name" fighters in terms of establishing if someone throws with power or not.

Gomi and Dida are pretty much the only 155'ers with one shot KO power that I can think of. Maybe JZ too.

    Fight Night was fantastic.

Everyone brought their A-Game and really put on a show.

I believed that Marquardt's legs were greased until Rogan put it to rest, saying that he was checked before and after.

Great stuff all around, the opening fight was by far fight of the night.

Great stuff, looking forward to UFC 120 FREE on Spike.

I thought Escudero/Oliveira was the best fight. The ending was just sick with him throwing Efrain against the cage and then across the floor, only to jump on his back and choke him out. Totally jumped outta my seat on that. Lol. Miller's KO was pretty damn nice too though.

They're not going to have Edgar/Maynard 2 as the sole main on New Year's though, so I wonder what else they have planned. Lesnar or Velasquez should be ready for the Superbowl show but 1/1 needs something. Probably end up being Rashad raping Randy for an "interim" belt or something.

All of those that put Silva down the P4P rankings after being 'dominated' by Chael Sonnen will need to apologise to him and admit that he's EVEN BETTER than everyone first thought if he fought with an injury and defeated someone on performance enhancing drugs whose style was a nightmare for him anyway.

$250K + bonuses for a fight, at this point, he surely can't lose? He would be daft not to take that. Couture on the other hand surely knows he wouldn't win and thus would turn it down. Saying that he IS competitive as fuck and would be thinking "3 takedowns and I get a title shot".

    It all makes sense.

Wonder what this does to the rematch? Surely he'll be suspended, eh?

Maybe, they'll do Vitor/Silva now and let Okami/Leben headline. Lol .. that was just for you, OD.

There will now be enough doubt about how genuine the Marquardt win was that they can probably run Silva/Nate. REAALLY hard sell though.

Wouldn't surprise me if Akiyama gets "injured", Nate smashes Bisping then gets a couple of months to prepare for Silva, if everything goes ideally. Or Belfort gets bumped, Marquardt/Okami at 122 and Silva/Belfort on New Year's. And I've got a feeling they've known this for a bit since 122 isn't offiial yet and Belfort's recently been laying into Anderson a bit.

Nah, he passed the drug tests for that and the Okami fight so that doesn't work for me.
Anyway though .. apparently you can see lesion marks, often but not always caused by steroid use, at the weigh-in. He had some marks like that on his back in the Marquardt fight (which I can remember actually) according to the article, not as prevalent.. but he did. None in the Okami fight, though.

Yeah, they definitely do .. its not necessarily the definite cause of those marks .. but very easily, and considering the failed test, likely could be at the same time.

Looks like he has the fuckin measles or something .. I bet this really hurts his political career.

I believe they do pre and post event tests. I know the post is the same night of the event .. I believe there's also a pre-test before the event, but I don't know how far before it. No more than a month I'm sure.

Josh Barnett, Tim Sylvia and Sean Sherk were all UFC champions when they got suspended for failed tests. Josh had just beaten Couture for the HW title.

And the athletic Commissions pretty much only tests fighters post fight. If you are not in the main event it isn't even 100% that you will be tested at all. As for unannounced random tests WADA style I think it's extremely rare that it happens in MMA. The only time I can recall someone being tested in advance of a fight was Josh Barnett pre- Affliction III. And that was administred by the CSAC who are notorious for their tests. Barnett, Sherk, Franca, Baroni and now Sonnen all failed tests done by the CSAC.

Too bad though, I was actually really looking forward to Sonnen/Silva II. The difference in bacne between the Miller fight and the Silva fight is quite immense.

UFC also does a lot of independent testing in addition to the commision's testing though.. and everyone on their cards gets tested cuz they actually have the money to do it and make sure it happens. I don't know about other promotions, but I've always read that the UFC tests all their fighters on fight night.

I think the only time the UFC are using independent tests is when there are no AC's to do them, such as abroad. I think that's how Leben was caught after the Bisping fight, he probably didn't expect being tested in England.

/Just pulling some random events out of my ass (>_<), here's the story on tests done after UFC 94:
    http://mmajunkie.com/news/13891/twel...ug-testing.mma

Only twelve fighters was tested. That's probably about only 45% or so being tested.

13/22 fighters was tested after UFC 100:
    http://www.mmafighting.com/2009/07/1...ts-at-ufc-100/

6/22 fighters was tested after UFC 102:
    http://mmajunkie.com/news/16160/ufc-...-for-drugs.mma

    And so on...

They usually test main eventers and winners of all fights in locations where testing isn't mandatory.

This is awful. Sonnen easily became one of my top five favorites after the Anderson fight when all along it wasn't him that won me over at all, it was his drugs.

Steroid use is despicable, especially in competition.

I was surprised how little was behind Martin Kampmann.

"but Martin Kampmann stands in his way..."

    why not

"but 17-3 Martin Kampmann stands in his way..."

Martin isn't quite a household name yet and they should probably make him seem like a somebody (because he is) to help sell that PPV.

Edit: I'm not suggesting that this PPV won't sell without them hyping Martin Kampmann. I'm saying that they should make it seem like Shields is fighting someone threatening. Unfortunately, the only welterweights people really seem to know are GSP, Thiago Alves, Koscheck, Hughes and Serra.

    http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2010/9/20...ight-drug-test

More details emerge on the Chael Sonnen drug saga as George Dodd, the CSAC official that first alerted the media on the failed drug test, talked to Lance Pugmire of the LA Times, and said that Chael tested positive for a"natural steroid", and it happened on his pre-fight drug test:
Chael Sonnen tested positive for a steroid before his Oakland loss to Anderson Silva, CSAC exec. George Dodd tells me... Said a "natural steroid."
He talked about it in detail, and says that the fighter is also looking at a 1-year suspension and a $2500 fine:
Chael Sonnen, the brash Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight contender who nearly defeated champion Anderson Silva in August, tested positive for a steroid before the fight in Oakland and faces a year-long suspension, California State Athletic Commission Executive Officer George Dodd said Sunday.
Sonnen will have 30 days to appeal his suspension and $2,500 fine, said Dodd, clouding UFC plans for a Sonnen-Silva rematch early next year in Nevada... Dodd said Sonnen’s positive test emerged from a urine sample he gave before the fight that was processed through the UCLA Olympic drug-testing lab.
So much for the flu rumours.

Why does that dispell the flu rumors?

I'm not a doctor and I don't know anything about getting rid of the flu, but a quick google search showed me that website.

That's a corticosteroid, not an anabolic steroid.

It's also a research paper, I highly doubt Chael Sonnen is experimenting with flu remedies.

The cold/flu remedy excuse is the oldest one going and it still doesn't fly. It's still his responsibility.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm trying to be extremely clear that I don't know what I'm talking about. I don't want to come off as that guy trying to defend the moron who used steroids.

There really are all kinds of different steroids, so there's no telling. I was giving some kinda steroid when I was a kid for poison ivy. Who knows.

And trust me, PMBR.. we know that you don't know what you're talking about.

Also, the paper is talking about flu-like symptoms in Multiple Sclerosis, not actual flu.

Personally, I believe in what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.. and just to be sure that's right.. I take steroids for everything. The slighest cough, naseua, indegestion, diareha, upset stomach, hair loss, stubbed toe, sore throat, excessive redness in private areas, itching, blurred vision, boredom, you know .. anything that's bringing me down.

Duke Roufus said on Junkie Radio that Pat Barry is helping Brock Lesnar with his stand-up for his fight with Velasquez.
