We went to UFC 105 for the specific reason of watching Alexander Gustafsson's UFC debut and it so happened that he was in the very first fight of the evening. My brother was determined that we should be seen during the live broadcadst so he had brought this huge Swedish flag with him, not kidding it was at least 3 meters long.
And so, while Gustafsson and his opponent (Jared Hamman) make their way to the cage he is starting to, with the help of some metal wire, connect the flag to the barriers behind us. Bell rings for the first round and he is still working on getting that damn flag up, I say "you better hurry up, fights started", He goes "yeah, yeah, almost don.."
BANG, crowd errupts, my brother turns around and Hamman is KTFO on the floor, fight is over in 0:41.
We drove from Stockholm to the airport in Skavsta (1hr), flew from Sweden to Liverpool, drove from Liverpool to Manchester and he ended up missing the entire fight we were there to see.
/Actually Gustafsson was in the second fight of the night, we missed the first fight standing in line to buy beer.

Some friends of friends who were in Montreal with us for GSP/Serra ran into Forrest Griffin randomly at their hotel. They were waiting for the elevator in the lobby and when the doors opened Forrest was standing there. They were basically in his way but just stood there dumbfounded, mouths probably open. Finally Forrest said something like, excuse me guys and one of them managed to say “hey, you’re Forrest Griffin”. Forrest promptly said “yep” and nudged between them to finally get off the elevator and go on his way.

On the subject of UFC 122 which seems to be a fun running joke but I think that if these fights are on the televised card, it won't be THAT bad:
Belfort v. Okami
Relic v. Soszynski
Siver v. Winner
Matyushenko v. Brilz
Sakara v. Rivera
Those fights right there will have the potential to be for sure entertaining. The only questionable fights are the obvious: Okami v. Vitor, due to Okami's ability to Jon Fitch almost everyone he fights. Vitor might not be able to fuck with Okami's grappling, Okami hasn't been stopped to my knowledge in his entire career other than the DQ loss to Anderson Silva. The other fight is one I didn't mention and that's Amir/Sobotta, questionable in terms of I think it'll get shown and we'll miss out on maybe Siver/Winner, I haven't heard the exact fights for the main card though.
I don't really think its that bad. Those are really good match-ups.. its just has no star power and damn near every person not in the main event is coming off a loss.

I'm not sure how to feel about that fight. On paper it's huge and it's a kickass co-main event for Rampage/Machida. But shouldn't BJ be trying to work his way back to a title shot? What is a fight with Hughes going to do for him if he wins? How bad will it hurt him if he loses?

I see it as the UFC taking the opportunity to do a BIG fight involving BJ without affecting the lightweight title picture negatively. Sure, he'll get back on the road to a title shot eventually but considering the consecutive losses to the champion meaning he isn't going to get a title shot soon, this keeps BJ from derailing any contenders who are close to a shot (Sotiropoulos) or fighting any fighters who arn't really close to a shot and would be far less of a big deal than this fight (Guida, Gomi).
I think a catchweight fight with Nate Diaz would have been a good decision. OR they could have done something AMAZING and brought over Ben Henderson for one fight.
