They're extremely boring and they've all been boring as fuck since day one outside of what they do in the ring. And even then, Adam Cole is by far the least impressive in-ring wise. Never understood the love and never will.
The stable.....Everything about them screams "We are unoriginal please help!" The song has an nWo vibe, even homeboy comes out playing the air guitar like Hollywood. Their stupid little hand signs. Fuck who knows maybe this is what people our age (30+) thought about the nWo lol.
I'm honestly blown away by all the Undisputed hate. Adam Cole is my current favorite on the NXT roster, and I love Undisputed Era. I think they're cool as hell.
I don't love the Undisputed Era, but I definitely don't hate them.
They're off-brand Bullet Club, but its four guys who are all solid wrestlers. Honestly, they could use a girl or a big guy to break up the monotony of having four guys who are all about the same size and build. Maybe grab Mike Bennett from 205 Live and add him and Maria to the crew? Add Punishment Martinez to the ensemble when he's ready for NXT TV? Or Hell, even Keith Lee or Donovan Dijackovicovich.
I actually like Undisputed Era, I'm just not too high on Cole who in his own right is still pretty good. He's just shallow water and he's not going to be much on the main roster. Fish, I don't really have an opinion on since he's been hurt for a far portion of his stay so far. Strong, I really like and have been digging him much more as a heel. Kyle though... this guy really intrigues me. I love his style and really can't wait to see how he turns out.

I reckon Cole is a great sports entertainer. Good on the mic, very expressive during matches. O'Reilly is getting better at it. But yeah Strong and Fish are pretty forgettable in that regard.
I think their future is an inverse of Kassius Ohno's, in that they will be the final feud for anyone bound for the main roster.
Fish and O'Reilly are going to be huge if they're moved up to the main show as a team. Undisputed Era vs. Usos or even Undisputed Era vs. The Hardy Boys, once Jeff is healthy again, are going to blow people away. Fish and O'Reilly are so effortlessly good. Which isn't to say they don't try hard. They're so good, that even when they're working their asses off, their work is so smooth and solid, it looks like they're not.

Ohno is great for the role but I don't think it was a good story they were trying to tell for the opening act for him. Based on the spoilers for the next set of tapings, the next guy seems like a better fit. Entrance music was nice, though.

It was a great story considering Ohno's gimmick is that he wants to be the one to welcome the "new toys". On top of that, I fucking love how another aspect of his gimmick is that he is the best of all styles. Japanese strong style, European catch as catch can, etc. It's like a more evolved version of Dolph Ziggler "stealing the show" gimmick.
And Ohno is just wonderful, he literally can work any style against any size opponent and make it look believable and entertaining. My son was more negative toward the idea of Ohno doing another job, but outside of that, props on the "angle" so to speak.

Believable yeah, entertaining I dunno. It was passable for the most part, awkward for others. However I am definitely curious to see more of Kushida after that, so I guess it was effective.
Ohno has that gatekeeping role absolutely locked down forever, and good for him.
I'm still not really digging Mia Yim. She lacks intensity in everything she does. But she's blue and I like the color blue though.
Riddick Moss, good to see him back from his achilles injury. Usually gimmicks like this urk me, but I think he pulls it off. It's in its baby phase, but it's something that can definitely bloom into something. Dude's ripped, can move, and sells great.
I've been watching some NXT and I caught the double battle royal "When Worlds Collide" special.
So, I just gotta say it. I really like The Forgotten Sons. Everything about them until the bell rings.
They look like three dudes who can actually kick ass, look good together, and I'm a mark for the "Sons of Anarchy" shit. That biker thing has always appealed to me.
But holy shit, are they bland in the ring. Their matches are what paint drying watches to relax. Their work is as bland as mayonnaise on white bread served with plain water and saltines. Give them some more seasoning, let them grow into something resembling entertaining workers and they'll be great. Until then, its like Bruce Prichard says; "They're great. But then that damn bell has to ring."
It was more of a filler episode but it added some wrinkles to the Undisputed Era story and Gargano/Riddle.
Ford might have the most athletic-looking frog splash in the company.
Beth Phoenix is likely going to be a massive upgrade to Percy on commentary. She's got to get her chops but I think she's got two great people in the booth to work with.
I want Riddle as champ so bad but I wouldn't be negative if he carried the North American championship and THEN won the NXT championship. TBH, I wouldn't mind seeing him carry both at the same exact time. If anyone has the ability to pull it off, it's Riddle. Might be too earlier to have a champ-champ in NXT.
I am beginning to think the Raw writing team is sneaking into NXT. NXT will always be a better show, because they have a smaller roster allowing their matches to be given time to breathe. I still don't get Shania Blazier. Happy for Tyler to get some air time. I think he is waiting for Fandango to come back or for his contract to end. I have no idea why Cole won other than they are going to do a Rock/Foley feud where the title changes every time they meet. I hope they don't move Johnny up, honestly they should not move anyone up as they will be hot for a month than disappear.
riddle/strong was fun. like many, i really want to see riddle turn heel, he's built for it. wrestling without shoes is pretty nuts, to me. back in the day you'd see it way more, sure. it was most used for brawlers for back in the day, where footwork wasn't essential. not these throws and other maneuvers riddle takes/gives.
ladder match was a decent spotfest, but nothing out of the ordinary. really liked that jump at the end. they also reminded me to watch the PC combine. would prefer to see o'reilly playing beltair again.
dream/breeze was middle of the road. dream's charisma is pretty great, and i am finally turning around on his 'character'. breeze seemed a little out of his element. nice moment at the end.
bayzler/shirai was fun. shayna always has an entertaining match. the swerve on interference was nice. no idea who they are going to put over bayzler when the time comes. candice? is there anyone left? the kendo shots at the end didn't look great, but wow at the damage they did. what a beast for taking those shots, as well.
cole/gargano was fun and did not disappoint. once again, fantastic interference swerve, even if it made gargano look a bit dumb just standing there. winning clean was a big surprise. i thought the first match was great (not completely out of this world), but i liked this one a bit more.

NXT solves the problem of how to book a face champion by simply not having one. Faces chasing heels is always a better story, so short face reigns and long heel reigns will keep people watching longer.
Far be it from me to tell anyone how to enjoy themselves, but I god I fucking hate crowds cheering for heels. It's how we end up with shitty booking.
Riddle is basically today's RVD. If the heel turn happens, it probably won't be for a while and if/when he does turn then what will the promos be like? Though he looks like a douche, can he cut it as heel on the mic?
I think we'll know if Riddle is really today's RVD when they turn him heel and we don't see another character. But he's still rough around the edges and hopefully has time to develop not only in the ring but maybe add a layer of character as well. Something that can pop on the mic as a heel.

That roundhouse finisher from Li was crisp as.
Agree on Conti. I want to like her but I'm not quite there yet. The cold-blooded heel schtick didn't suit her.
I'm not into Mia Yim and I wish I could articulate why.
The main event was a belter. Great fun. Although I really wish the crowd would stop cheering for UE. Help get them over as the heels they clearly are for fucks sake.
Names can be pretty irrelevant if there's personality/character/ring skill to overshadow them. Familiarity also smooths out the initial roughness, a couple years from now if any of these dudes are making it, you'll be saying their name without so much as an eye blink. And to be fair, 'John Cena' isn't exactly an attention grabber...
"Cena" is kind of a unique name. Something vaguely "futuristic" about it.
I like Mia Yim, but she got weirdly emotional in her match against Bianca Belair on the last NXT. She beat her in a fairly solid match and then just started bawling? What? Sort of an odd reaction.
Mia's been kind of blah w/ me. They're trying the sympathy card SO hard by doing these video pieces on her which is cool, but when it comes to her matches she's slow and plodding. And the crying too, I'm not sure what the frick that's all about. She's happy she won, cool. But godamn these are supposed to be bigger than life superstars.

When Samuel Shaw had his run in Impact Wrestling he was basically just playing a knock-off version of Dexter from, well, Dexter. The show.
Now they've just named him Dexter. "Dexter Lumis". Dexter is pretty damn on the nose, but I wonder if somebody in the name generator room is a big horror movie fan and named him after Dr. Loomis from the "Halloween" movies?
