Battleground was a pretty mid PLE.

The venue sucked. Honestly felt smaller than the PC. Sexyy Red "hosting" consisted of coming out at the top to say hello and then never appear again outside of one backstage bit. Ah well, she seems pretty terrible so the less of her, the better.

Ladder Match was good but overall fairly forgettable outside of a couple big spots. The last person I wanted and least interesting option won. Sorry, I do not see anything special about Kelani. Maybe this title run will change that...?

Tag Title match was good but not really above an average weekly episode match quality.

Shayna/Lola was pretty good.

Women's Title match was the MOTN for me. I've been a bit bored with Roxanne lately but she really impressed in this match and Jordan is fucking awesome. The finish was obviously to set up some more cross-promotion stuff so I wasn't too fussed and figured Roxanne was retaining anyway. Happy to see Tatum getting some spotlight and funny to see Ash fka Dana back in NXT so soon.

NA triple threat slapped pretty hard. Oba is the fucking man, what a monster. Can't wait for him and Wes one on one at some point. Joe was decent enough, man, has a good mustache and haircut, at least, too.

I was interested in Page going in but man, his look is not interesting or screaming superstar to me. Mic skills/ring skills are good, though. Match was decent enough.

Show just felt like a good weekly show or like a Spring Breakin' show, not a PLE.

Excited for the returns of Thorpe and Choooooo!

She was probably the last person on their list to win the match but I just feel like having veterans like her and the Good Bros in NXT seemed like a great idea, until they just started doing jobs like they do on the main roster now. For Yim it's even worse because she's featured on Smackdown and NXT, in the same exact light.

For real, love the evolution of the gimmick. Was already a fan, am even more so now.

The main event segment was ass. Heel talks shit. Heels continue to interrupt. No faces. Crowd is silent. No climax. I was sure Roxy and Lola were going to turn around and get double Sol Snatched by Ruca but nope. ASS.

Kelani's opening promo also sucked. Can't even sound convincing about winning a title. Then Jaida came out and outclassed her like a real star with fucking presence.

Cane match was good. So was Spears/Evans. Thorpe being back is good but surprised how much he got whomped on in his match.

Very curious about guests in the battle royal next week. For sure some TNA guys are appearing. My TNA wishlist: Hendrey, Ali, Gresham, and PCO.

I just got round to watching that segment this morning. 1000% agreed, that was criiiiinge. So cringe I fast forwarded and didn’t bother with the end.

Also same thoughts on Oba/Lee. More than likely will steal the show and a difficult one to call really. Continue with the Oba push or have Lee get that biiiig win.

If Lee loses…maybe either an NXT title push or a main roster call up so my gut says Oba will do it. Oba either way can see getting called up next year (maybe post-Mania) and possibly a good Rumble too as quite rightfully people are high on the guy.

But yeah let him marinate on NXT for now I reckon.

Yeah just saw Heatwave today.

Oba/Lee was my MOTN. Loved the story of Lee trying everything but Oba’s just too powerful plus some good bumps too. I could easily see Oba carrying on undefeated and maybe relinquishing the NA title a la Asuka before being called up maybe around post-Mania next year if not sooner. Lee I think may be called up sooner given the result and the post-match interview.

The fatal 4 way was my second favourite MOTN. Really good floppy stuff by Evans like the somersault over the corner onto Trick through the barricade. Nice bump through the table too. Also everyone getting finishers in and a unique ending where Trick accidentally gives Ethan the win. Mixed feelings on Ethan hinself being champ. Solid but maybe a bit early plus a tad overrated.

Everything else was good but those two matches stood out more for me than the rest.

OBA!/Lee was awesome. Also saw highlights from Jordan/Ruca and it was dope. Didn't watch the rest of the show but have read lots of glowing reviews. Saw how the main event finihs played out and was shocked, in a good way, to see we got a new champ. And Joe Hendry is coming back!

Least interested going in to the show with the Frazer/Axiom Vs. Chase U bout, but this was my MOTN. Thought it was excellent.

Oba and Lee was very, very good, but I thought it was a tad too long in the end. Oba is the man though!

Kelani and Ruca was good. Both being gymnasts made the action a little predictable and it was a little overkill at times with the flippy shit, but it was good. And I love Ruca. Kelani is bland though.

Roxanne and Vice was my least favourite from the show, but still decent. Very decisive win for Perez, which surprised me, but I like it.

Main event was excellent. And I really like Page. Glad he won it here in this way rather than one on one at Battleground.

Overall, a top, top show.

Hmm…I personally didn’t find Oba/Lee too long or dragged. I was invested in it all the way. I think it needed a bit of length anyway considering the stakes.

I agree on the tag match being awesoome, some good false finishes and saves but Oba/Lee just shades it.

Luca/Jordan was really good too. Yeah maybe a bit overkill on the flips and also not invested on the characters enough to make it a MOTN. They’ll get there but just need to see more.

Also agree on Roxanne/Vice being the weakest of the bunch.

I don't have the time to follow most other promotions, but they were talking about his them song being catchy and hitting the top charts across the pond. I can't help but think "Good for this guy". Then I saw him on Chris Van Vliet's channel, and I was even more impressed.

Opening six man was fun. Rascals are very enjoyable to watch as a trio. Gallus damn near got squashed so that pleased me. Also more Hendry!

Another rough promo segment with Roxy/Thea. Roxy just isn't good and they make her talk way too long saying the same old shit and it's just flat and only gets spicy at the end. They need to trim these down or something.

Jenson's spinning leg lariat to the table was cooler than anything Evans did/does.

Page/Chen was alright. I'm kind of into Oro going after Page and think they'll have a banger.

Happy to see Paxley get an unexpected win and seeingly posied to go after the NA Title even if she'll probably not win it. Also more Paxley/Choo interation is cool.

Face Lola sucks. She was just starting to get cooking as a heel and they shouldn't have turned her. Not a fan of Jayce, either, so I'm really not into this other women's feud.

Not thrilled to see OTM lose to Good Bros., especially after OTM got their big win, this kind of negates it, and then Jaida seemed to win her blow off with Michin and yet here we are, back at it again. Can only hope the young team comes out in the final real blow off, which I assume will have some kind of stip?

OBA!/Hudson was quite good much as I've really tired of Chase U. Given it's position, I thought we'd get someone stepping up to OBA! to end the show rather than a bit of an anticlimactic parking lot conversation.

That's basically where I'm at with the guy. Is this another Fandango, Elias, if we're keeping it in the realm of TNA let's not forget how over that Grado dude was for a bit or even cats like Stone Cold Shark Boy.

The thing here is that people these days are so caught up in things that go viral and they're popular that it means there's something more there to exploit. Look at the goofy "Hawk Tuah Girl". Literally anything stupid as fuck can be super popular on Tik Tok and social media in general but do we put the World title on them?

I just don't know enough about the guy in terms of what he's accomplished in wrestling.

Week 2 of the GAB was so much better than week 1.

Trick vs. Dunne was quite good. Dunne winning was a shock and the loss adds interesting character stuff to Trick as he tries to "figure it out". Also all for Dunn hanging around even if I think his finger snapping move is dumb.

Kelani vs. Tatum ruled. Kelani is getting pretty solid in ring but my gawd, she needs a character and "No one does it like Lani" is a catchphrase, not a character. C'mon, girl. Tatum on the other hand, is fucking awesome. Character shooting out her ass and damn good in ring, too. Love her. Wendy rules, too, and I'm super curious to see what's in store for the spooky two as I thought they'd be teaming up but then Wendy attacked her so,

Page. Oro was good. Oro is really getting to show his stuff for awhile and has really impressed me. Page is growing on me, as well, but still seems kind of generic.

I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY. It's so weird how he's a TNA guy but it just feels like he's an NXT guy so seamlessly. So glad he'll be around for awhile.

I didn't like NQCC much but man if this whole trying to be like the Family and angle with WRen hasn't turned that all around. Very entertaining. Glad she's in the group 'cuz she's really starting to shine with this.

The heel turn was definitely a surprise, since I expected The Rascalz to win the titles. Wes has needed an oil change for a long time, and him joining/rejoining a trio as a face might have blanded him so more over time so... the turn opens more doors storyline wise for him and it also creates a new pathway for him. Heel Wes could be money.

Oh and also... Trey Miguel's selling was superb. I have high hopes for this guy. Not only is he a dang entertaining wrestler, but he is a legit good dude.

Agree with you about Kelani, which is a shame because she's taken to wrestling faster than... almost any other woman. She's been training for fewer than two years, and is already a believable champion. Sol Ruca is the same, really great athlete, but they haven't quite figured out what to do with her character outside of... she's a surfer? HBK seems to be really weak when it comes to building up homegrown face women. Couple this with the fact that you have plenty of heel women in NXT getting wins and rarely getting a comeuppance, it doesn't give us much reason to cheer for someone like Karmen or Carley or Kendall or Wren when they are almost always losing. Not taking anything away from the actual performers, they are training an incredible group of women down in NXT. But the women's division in NXT seems stuck in the cycle of 1. dominating heel for months and months, 2. some faces chase the title and one finally gets enough wins to seem legit, 3. face wins a title and... then they are a face, 4. crowd eventually tires of them (Roxanne as a face, Lyra, probably Kelani), and 5. then a heel comes in, takes the title and makes the champion look like a chump... repeat from step 1.

Wendy and Tatum are so awesome. Would love a spooky duo between then

Joe Hendry, under contract to TNA, has earned a WWE NXT title shot at No Mercy. He's talented, and over, so I get the idea of striking while the iron is hot. But will they actually put a title on a guy under contract to someone else?

I thought this week's episode was pretty good. While kind of following along with the Tony D'Angelo story, I have to say I was impressed by Ms. Rizzo's acting chops.

If Trick loses he has to be main roster bound. I definitely think we're going to see Giulia win the title on that show. There has to be at least one major title change. Roxanne has kind of peaked at this point for me in NXT. Sure she could stick around, do some jobs I guess but then you risk her coming to Raw or SD as just another body.

Been meaning to chime in about NXT since No Mercy but just never got around to it. So random-ass thoughts in no partiuclar order:

Page has grown on me a lot since he debuted.
Oba's still enjoyable to watch but being pro "beat your kids if they won't go to church" has caused his stock to take a big hit with me.
Hammerstone is cool and I'd be happy to see more of him .
Love Choo/Rosemary pairing as well as thrilled with the reunited Tatum/Lyra.
Fatal Influence just feel like discount Toxic Attraction and I don't give a shit about them or babyface Lola. Jada's cool, though. It's like half the women are pretty great and half are bland AF.
Wren has made NQCC 1000x more interesting and I've warmed to all members now that they've added some comedy/character. Still cannot be arsed to watch Heritage Cup matches, though, just don't care for the format.
They need to maintain momentum for Eddy Thorpe, dude just seems to stop/start every couple weeks.
Guilia's debut match was underwhelming as it was far too even and didn't make her look like the killer she;s touted as being. Otherwise, she seems really cool, though.

Kind of had a feeling Giulia wasn't going to win so obviously but the Cora return was a surprise. Legit didn't even recognize who she was even after the hood came off for a minute. Not mad about it. Stephanie can help Giulia even the odds. And we got a DELTA vignette! Giulia hasn't really changed my life yet, she's cool but I'm legit a bit more hyped for the other two right now.

Street Fight was great. Fucking wild bump by Wentz when he basically missed the table. Lee going after Trick would be dope.

Main event was fairly forgettable but solid. Trick on top is a good move. Page vs. Punk could be cool if they're really gonna do it.

Very interesting decision to take the NA title off Oba and put it on Tony D. I'll be honest, never big a huge fan of all this Tony D stuff. I love Stacks though and did enjoy their feud with Legado but even that had some questionable moments. Maybe I'm just waiting for Little Guido to show up and be revealed as the Godfather lol. Oba-who is there that they could slide in and have him work with? Shawn Spears wouldn't be a bad idea mainly because he's a veteran and Oba could use some more polish. It definitely feels like Wes Lee v. Trick Williams for the NXT title is up next. So maybe Oba gets the winner of that. It does feel like we're possibly building toward Trick v. Oba at some point.

I was impressed with Oba's selling last night. He has been pushed as something really special, so much so that it made this match all the more fun. When Oba inevitably moves to the main roster, he's not going to be pushed the way Goldberg was, but he does have such an impressive look, he will get the call when he's ready, and that will mean he will need to be able to help tell a convincing story in the ring.

Tony's storyline of doubting himself against Oba was definitely believeable in the build to this match. The crowd bought into the nearfalls on both sides, and they helped tremendously.

Jey Uso was a nice surprise but amounted to fuck all beyond a catchphrase-off.

6-woman tag was alright. Shame Bianca/Jade's charisma can't rub off on Kelani. Not feeling Fatal Influence at all.

Cora/Roxanne reunion is fine. Neither of them are good on the mic so the talking went on a bit and was kind of tough to sit through. Giulia bringing out Steph had me hyped. As I said previous, Giulia hasn't done much for me yet but I am stoked for Steph, dig me the goth types. Speaking of: another DELTA vignette! Good gawd I am so stoked for her, too. Just watched a match of hers against Jordynne Grace that was dope. Hell yes, beefy gals.

Oba vs. Tony was pretty damn good, actually. Figured the anglw as heading for Tony winning and it's fine. Not a fan but he's earned it.

Tag team match was good. Seems like they've been teasing dissension between both teams forever. Figured Fraxion would split awhile back and yet they're still going strong.

Holy balls Sexyy Redd is terrible.

Orton vs. Evans was not that good. Mostly Orton standing around waiting for Evans to springboard off stuff and then they fucked up the big RKO finish which put a damper on the whole shebag. But it was wholesome AF how Orton handled it and gave the kid a "it's ok, don't worry about it".

Looks great, moves great, speaks really well and clear etc, like she has a real confidence about herself. Didn't look out of place at all next to Bianca and Jade. And she's new to the business, in the grand scheme of things. Sky is the limit.

Totally agree with you. NXT creative and Kelani haven't quite figured out how to make her really click as a babyface (a damn shame, as I think she's likable), but everything else about her screams future main event player. She's been wrestling for a grand total of 23 months, and is already wrestling really, really well. It will click eventually, and when it does, I think she will be huge.

Stephanie Vaquer is officially my current favorite wrestler. Love everything about her. Delta will probably be right next to her once she shows up. Wren looked great in the match with Steph, too.

Gentlemen's Dual was probably the best Lexis King match yet. Dude was busting out new moves and really seemed to be trying to step up. I like Oro's moves and pink hair but don't connect to him as a character and his gear is ugly.

Wish Lyons wasn't such a goober so I could be more hyped about her return but I'm also worried her leg will just explode again at the drop of a hat.

Brooks Jensen's whole thing just is not clicking for me. Ashante, on the other hand, has a good thing going.

Main event was pretty damn good. Honestly thought it was gonna be Lee winning going into it, then thought it was going to be Evans during the match itself, so Page winning was a genuine shock. Not overly thrilled as it's not fresh but the stip helps put a new coat of paint on it.

Outside of the rather good main event the rest of this week's show wasn't much to talk about in-ring. Disappointed to see my boys OTM back just to job yet again. Hank and Tank are fun but damn, Jaida's really leaving her team in the dust as far as getting a chance to shine.

The Trick/Page promo started off well enough with Page talking about his career but then got pretty bad with all the corny hell/devil bullshit lines like Drew/Punk just did for HIAC. Sounds like there's gonna be blood in this one, too.

Seems like Nikkta might be turning heel with the hint she helped Oba take out Rizzo. Not a bad idea to try to freshen her up.

Great video for Stephanie/Giulia. As I said, main event tag was really good. Seems like Steph might be outshining Giulia already.

HH was good, not great. HappyKelani lost her title. Popped for Zaria getting physical. Women's tag match was good. Stephanie seems to e Roxy 's next challenger. Main event was good but closing the show with the tag match setup for next week was dumb. Holland should be Tony's next challenger, not Trick's.

Casket Match was fun. Nice for Pax to get a big win but shame Choo never does. Worth noting, Choo was not in the casket when they opened it post-show, so maybe she's disappeared, getting repackaged, getting more spooky, who knows.

Zaria looked good in her debut. Nice bit with the elbow. Loved the ten woman tag set up. Popped big for Jordynne. More hyped for that match than anything else next week. I've got no particular affinity for ECW so I don't care about that aspect of next week.

No idea why we needed two long talking segments just to set up a tag match that was already obvious at the end of HH. Could've condensed them into one quite easily, the swerve of Bubba saying no was pointless.

This face turn for Lexis King is quite interesting. First time I've really paid attention to a Heritage Cup match in forever.

I thought Rhyno looked great. I would've honestly preferred to see RVD in a match than Bubba Ray. Never really cared for him. Especially as a solo act plus everyone says he's a piece of shit lol. I had watched Dawn Marie on Rene Dupree's podcast months ago and she looked good on that show but holy shit....I was never a big Dawn Marie fan but she has aged like fine wine. Her and Tammy Sytch feuding in ECW was...how do I say, incredible a young teen at the time? lol

Didn't care for all the nostalgic stuff. Was never an ECW person so I had no attachment and felt like they didn't really add much of note and fairly forgettable.. On the plus side that means it didn't feel like they were taking spotlight away from the younger stars, so I guess it was a success in that regard.
Jaida/Lola was alright but there were a couple parts that were a little off and the "brick" spot was shit. Dawn looked like she had no idea how to ref.
Lee/Evans was good.
Main event 10-woman was fucking awesome.

That Lola/Jaida match was fun in places, but quite dodgy in others. Dawn Marie did indeed look lost out there. And that spot where Lola was in the corner propping up the ladder and then just waited for Jaida, with her back turned. And then waited and waited and waited.

Fun overall though, the ECW stuff was really not overdone, loved the ECW themed intro to the show. And that main event was super fun.

It's wild how every other promotion relies on working with others and WWE does an ECW themed show, owning all the shit that goes along with it, and you still have people taking issue. Not on here this is just me venting lol Some of these fans don't understand that A-without Vince's help and platform ECW would've probably died in 1997. B-ECW was like the original NXT for WWF/E. Steve Austin leaves WCW, goes through ECW and then gets "called up" to WWE. Al Snow not getting over in 1995, gets sent back to where he came from (ECW) and repackaged with Head.

I get not being a fan of ECW or not caring, but when it's "Well, it was an ECW themed show that's why more people watched" On one hand you should care if people are watching/attending your favorite wrestling promotion's shows. Ever see the movie Major League? Same premise. On the other it's not that deep so hopefully anyone having any back and forth about NXT v. Dynamite ratings it's not something they take home with them.

Yeah but look at Carmello, Ricochet, the list goes on of similar sized guys who maybe didn't main event Mania but shit one of those guys challenged Lesnar for the belt and another is on the verge of being a top midcard guy already. If you showed me Wes Lee when he first came in with MSK compared to now it's night and day. Dude is so much better now in every aspect.

I remember seeing that Andre Chase dude in a tag-team with his brother in ROH years ago so it's wild he's still going. I think the gimmick works to a degree but it definitely ran it's course. I just wonder what the next step for Andre Chase will be. He looks the part, IDK if he's shredded underneath or just some scrawny dude as he was not imposing in ROH at all. Even now a big part of what makes this stable goofy is him, he's not believable. So it'll be interesting to see the next step.
