She lost to Beth too. That's how Santino won the IC title during his Honkameter shtick. (Mickie/Kofi vs. Santino/Beth with both titles on the title, and Beth pinned Mickie.)

I remember way back in the old days of the Divas Thread of 2006, people were mad that even though Mickie pretty much dominated the whole match, Trish only looked weak/"bad" because she kicked the ring post and so the main factor behind her loss was not Mickie, but herself. This was during the height of the "Trish Stratus overshadows the division" complaining and her 450 day title reign, but it's funny to think about in hindsight.

I find it more amazing at the Rumble, Mickie got booed out of the building and at Mania she was cheered on by the fans. To be fair at Backlash, the Mickie fans seem to disappear. Mania fans cheering for the heels has to be the most overdone thing in wrestling.
I seem to remember Mickie was always getting a bit of support (which peaked at Mania, especially because she played up the psycho thing even more while the crowd was behind her) because she was a fresh and entertaining character, while Trish was in a thankless straight man position during that feud and had been champion forever at that point. I did feel bad for Trish getting booed so hard at that Mania but Mickie was doing such a good job at the time.

Trish Stratus got the John Cena treatment... she was the Superwoman of the Division and Mickie got all the juicy stuff in that storyline, especially by going Single White Female and framing Jack for assaulting her. The great thing about that storyline too was that they involved other women in supporting roles... Ashley had a supporting role as Trish's BFF, and then you included Vince's Devils which splintered off into their own feud with the faction imploding (and they did that nice little swerve where we were afraid that Candice was going to challenge for the title at Mania instead of Mickie). I really wish we could have seen how it was all supposed to end but Beth's debut and injury kind of stifled all of that I feel.
With Mickie's impending return, I've started watching the RAWs after her debut to get reacquainted with the Trish storyline. It's been so long that I don't remember allot of it. It got off to a really slow start. Mickie didn't do any interviews to explain who she was or why she was there. She just show's up to save Trish and then is wrestling the next week. The women got no mic. time at all in their segments. The commentators just said Mickie was a new Diva and that was it.

Maybe I am not seeing the bigger picture here, but if Charlotte wins this weekend, it really seems to make Sasha a weak champion. This feud needs to end (for now) with the good guy (Sasha) winning. The story will just feel incomplete if Charlotte wins. I do not care as much about a 3 or 4 time champion within a year (thought it is a bit odd...), but it does Sasha no good or credibility if she keeps losing to Charlotte at every PPV.
It's going to feel even less complete when they go to a draw.
And Sasha tapped Charlotte out at Battleground, but that doesn't stop Charlotte from being undefeated at PPV....
I'm still unsure where they're going with this match. It seems like an obvious swerve with Ric somehow helping Charlotte win, but maybe they want Sasha to retain by defying the odds and beating both Flairs. The only reason I can think of for them to keep the title on Sasha is if she turns heel and feuds with Bayley. I guess they could keep Sasha face and have her go up against Nia Jax, but they don't really need the title for that.
I think the WWE should have Banks win this Sunday. I'm sick of the way this title change shit has been happening where it's Sasha wins on raw, Charlotte wins it back at the ppv. Lame. That doesn't create an element of surprise that creates a weak ass championship I don't care if it's a prop or not, it's a prop that has meaning that is supposed to enhance the talent and the talent is supposed to enhance the belt in return.

I remember when I went to NXT last year and Bliss vs Carmella was the only match on the card that seemed to get an apathetic reaction (not that it was a bad match) i think both ladies have come on leaps and bounds, especially Alexa, I think I may prefer her to any of the 4 Horsewomen at the minute tbh.
I'd definitely put Alexa NOW over Bayley during the 4 horsewomen phase in NXT.
Alexa's legit my favorite person in WWE right now regardless of gender. Still waiting for her to really click in the ring and deliver a breakout match, though.
She's definitely my favorite thing on Smackdown by a wide margin. On Raw my favorite thing is the Sasha/Charlotte feud.

I'd have it end in a tie, where the clock expires with Charlotte in the Banks Statement. The next night on Raw she puts over how she refused to tap. A draw would piss off some, but it's the logical finish to me.

Bliss is great. Holds her own in the ring and on Talking Smack.
She was also great as the NXT tag team champion.

Alexa is super awesome right now! The thing for me is I think she is the right opponent to help Becky to be the most entertaining she has ever been. I like that Sasha vs Charlotte is finally coming to end, because it feels like Alexa vs Becky is going to be one of the main feuds up until WM, where hopefully Becky gets her storybook ending of winning (back) a championship at WM.
I am also hoping for a Sasha vs Bayley feud for the title, and a Charlotte vs Nia feud without any title, but perhaps that is just me!
Alexa Bliss has been excellent in recent months, since towards the end of her run on NXT. She's really thrown herself into that character and it's a lot of fun to watch
I'd like to see Sasha win tomorrow- if not it will just feel like she's had three fairly meaningless title reigns. It would be a surprise though as Charlotte/Bayley for the title seems like the more logical feud. They've probably missed the boat on giving her that big win - Wrestlemania, Summerslam or HIAC would all have been bigger moments. Maybe she could move on to a feud with Emma if she does drop the title (which could be great)
I would love Becky getting sidetracked with Carmella for a bit before coming back to finish business with Alexa. Then either have Alexa win it back to run with it, or give it to someone fresh. I wouldn't be against another Natalya run right now, to be honest, if they really build her heel persona. I want to see that ruthless Nattie come back.
Me too. Nattie gets a lot of guff, but I've always seen her as a solid performer. It's just her mic skills that haven't always clicked, but I would definitely put her above someone like... Nikki Bella who has always come off as wooden. But if she were to fully embrace the heel then she could be pretty good.

I've been thinking about the Women's road to WrestleMania. For RAW's Division, I still think Bayley is going to win the title at 'Mania. Charlotte and Sasha have already won the title multiple times. I don't see why either of them needs to win it again at 'Mania. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but it feels like a no brainer for Vince to put over the Doctor of Huganomics and send the fans home happy.
With that in mind, the Smackdown Division feels more wide open. As much as I would love to see Becky get the big win, I can see 4 potential Women walking out with the title: Becky, Nikki, Alexa, or Mickie. It wouldn't surprise me if they even did a 4-Way since I doubt they'd leave Nikki or Mickie off the main show. My gut tells me the favorites are Nikki or Mickie. Nikki's going to get a run with the title sooner or later and winning a big match at 'Mania is one of the only things she hasn't done yet. Mickie has been signed to a 3 year deal, but they might want to push her while she's still hot after her big return. Establishing her right off the bat as the dominant woman in the division would shake things up quite a bit.

Wasn't a big fan of Alexa... but after winning the title, she has certainly grown on me. The reverse can be said about Sasha Banks after this feud with Charlotte.
After watching SmackDown!, holy shiiiiit, I am so HERE for that Nattie/Nikki feud. That was the most natural that Nattie has ever come across on the microphone, and I definitely believe she tapped into some real emotions there. I also commend Nikki, letting them trot out the issues in her own relationship and how people have perceived her to add some real fuel to the storyline. And that's what I love about SmackDown's Women's Division... you don't know what's going to happen and they have the title storyline AND a storyline that doesn't need the belt.
I am COMPLETELY fucking swerved on the fact that there was no swerve to the Nattie storyline and that Carmella was telling the truth the whole time about Nattie attacking Nikki. I would like to see the dynamic between Nikki and Carmella change a bit with the revelation that she was keeping it real. I truly think - especially since Nattie and Nikki are such good friends - that they could have a truly amazing feud. I'm so excited to see how this unfolds especially since I was supremely confident that the "mystery attacker" was going to wind up being Eva Marie. Now, if they can just find Naomi something to do, that'd be wonderful.
Also, I really cannot stand Nia on the microphone. Please. Make. Her. Stop. Whoever it was that decided to book mic time for her needs to be fired. I am very curious to see how Summer Rae, Emmalina, Paige, and Tamina are all going to fit into the RAW landscape once they are back from their sabbaticals.

Could Renee Young become the most popular female personality? I think she's right up there but I wonder if her being inserted into this Miz-Ambrose storyline could be what puts her at the top. I've warmed up to her, a couple years ago people were on the bandwagon, it took me a little longer but the last year or so I've really started to like her and think she's great. Part of me doesn't want her to be in the mix, I don't know how this will affect Dean Ambrose but who knows, could be really good could be Dolph-Lana-Rusev bad.
The timing of things is interesting in the sense that she was asked on Booker T's podcast and she said she has to be prepared for anything. She said she doesn't have any wrestling experience but she's open to the idea of training if called upon to do so.
I'm not big on Alexa, I haven't written her off but she's not my favorite. I'm digging Charlotte right now, for me she's the closest thing to a total package.

It's 5′ 10″ for Charlotte. It just came across to me in the Iron Man match that Sasha had a harder time moving or trying to work around Charlotte due to the height difference. It would be that much more interesting with Alexa.
Nattie's pipe bomb was amazing. I wouldn't say I was completely swerved though as it was pretty obvious that she was all too willing to take her place and she was showing signs of cracking trying to keep up the pretend niceness. Having the stretched out reveal be Carmella yet again would've been really anticlimactic.

Yeah any other time a Nattie promo hits I'm like oh fuck, typical scripted shit from someone who can't act lol. Last night, best promo she's ever had. The thing is though, she's one of those talents who never really get mic time so after 10 years and maybe 20% of that time she's got to talk, she's not going to be very good. But you see on Total Divas and she talks a million words a minute and she sounds educated, just goes to show the scripting of promos is jank.
I feel the same way. I remember I was not a fan because I just assumed she was another pretty model that they brought on to be another fucking interviewer that is forgettable; but she really does know her shit and she actually is nice to listen to and sounds convincing. I also really enjoy her on Total Divas, she just seems like a very sweet and nice person. I agree with PurePlayer that Miz and Dean won't allow their storyline to be Rusev-Lana-Dolph bad. I mean, if you think about it, what really fucked EVERYTHING up was the fact that they (Lana and Rusev) announced their engagement (and I especially hated that they did the whole Dolph/Lana are not in a relationship, but are banging but not really because Lana said they weren't and now it's a big fucking mess and fuck off to Summer Rae and whatever push she was given). With this storyline, we know Miz is married to Maryse... we know Dean is living with Renee... and also, all four of them seem professional and outspoken enough that if something doesn't work or doesn't fit, they'll make it known and kind of be united on such a decision.
That's what bothered me a lot about the Daniel Bryan storyline when he was chasing the belt before retiring, they could have done so much more with Brie Bella thrown into the mix that they literally didn't even utilize her until Stephanie got involved. It's like, have we learned anything from AJ Lee's massive popularity... have the women interact with the top male performers or be involved somehow and it gives them a bit of a rub. In AJ's case, she became massively over.
I wouldn't want to see Renee as a wrestler though... I'd rather she valet for Dean and get into a catfight with Maryse, maybe take the French Kiss DDT. At most, she could do a Mixed Tag and briefly mix it up in the ring with something very simple.
Just saying, I have no interest in Renee as a permanent personality fixture other than being the head interviewer/host for any of the stuff that's not in-ring. I love her role currently, and I don't mind occasionally getting her mixed up like would happen to Lilian every now and then, but I think she's best as a personality that doesn't have any personal stake in the storylines, except for where it matters. Like if they did something like the RAW walk-out.
I think I might be into Alexa less since she won the title. The feud between her and Becky was handled really well and she was built up as a serious threat. She was killing it on the mic too and had some great appearances on Talking Smack. Since TLC, they haven't really done much to build on her win. She isn't getting as much mic. time as before and the segments have been shorter. Alexa should be out there gloating and putting down Becky every chance she gets and butting heads with Bryan. She didn't say anything this week. They just gave us the details of her match while she walked to ring backstage. They couldn't have shaved a couple minutes off that boring main event to do a short segment where DB confronts Alexa and tells her she has to defend her title or be stripped of it? Feels like more time is being devoted to the Nikki/Nattie storyline.

Nattie was pretty good on Smackdown when she confessed, but she was nauseating on Talking Smack. She must have said "I'm a Hart" and "I'm Royalty" about 50 times. Cringe worthy stuff.
Those are definitely crutch words for her when she doesn't know where she wants to go.
That's another downside to the scripted era. The people who don't generally get to talk have trouble coming across natural in certain situations like Talking Smack. Again on Total Divas, she's not put in a position like that. It's just her being natural, she's used to the camera crew following her around so that doesn't bother her. But on Talking Smack, when she has to try to play that character still, she definitely sounded like she was relying on buzz words as opposed to just being an extension of herself. The problem is that, she seems like an extremely nice person that doesn't want to say anything bad or be a "bitch" but she has to be. That segment on Smackdown was great in comparison. But I've seen her on Talking Smack before and when she's just being herself talking shop, she's perfectly fine.
Go back to the episode where they had all the women for the SS team and you had Naomi just relying on buzz words...glow this, glow that, find the glow Bruce LeeRoy. But on TD she's fine. When she was in Team BAD she was IMO the best promo of the 3. But I think it comes down to when they're not used to being in these scripted situations or in interviews like Talking Smack and you're not able to just be yourself amped up, it's tough.
You know who surprised the fuck out of me? The Usos. 2 weeks ago, the one who kept saying he was the Shawn of the group, he was great, not even sure I've heard them cut promos that didn't sound totally scripted by a writer.

Good little heel bit for her. Week before after she won, she had a great promo about how "this little bitch is now the Champion". So she had no mic time this week...one week out of three.

Alexa Bliss is good. She has the potential to be great. I really liked her work as the manager for those 2 jabronis in NXT, took me back to the days of Sunny with the Bodydonnas. I think Bliss could be someone who 10 years from now people would say "She reminds me of Alexa Bliss".

I'm annoyed by how they refer to Nia Jax as one of the most dominant women of all time. Its another instance where I wish someone on commentary would just ask "what makes her so dominant?" She only beats jobbers and loses to anyone that isnt a jobber. Even on Monday she has an opportunity to beat down Sasha and all she does is trips her and throws her then passes on the opportunity to beat her with the crutch, which probably would of gotten more heat.
She had a much better build on NXT, even with her awkward growing pains and losing so early on.
Jimmy Uso is hilarious. He's got tons of charisma and is one of the most entertaining people on TD. It amazes me the Uso's don't get more mic time on Smackdown.
The Jane Ellsworth line was greatI probably am being too negative with the way Alexa's been handled since TLC. It's only been 3 weeks since she won the title. It just seems like creative put allot of effort into the Women's Title feud over the past 3 months and now they're kind of in cruise control. Anyway, I'll reserve my judgment and wait and see what happens.

You gotta put things in perspective though, it was one week of three where she got no mic time, and yet it still felt like there was more meat to her and Becky's feud than just Charlotte/Sasha trading the titles back and forth. I am looking forward to seeing Charlotte Vs. Bayley, but at the same time, Becky and Bliss run circles around Bayley when it comes to mic work... I legitimately feel the fire from Becky when she gets pissed off and Bliss is doing a great job of really making me hate her/want her to lose the title. I felt the Luchadora thing with Becky was a fun thing that they haven't done with the women since Luna was the Spider Lady and attacked Sable... so I'm sure we'll get a good amount of mic time next show with Alexa being Bliss-ed off. They also have to kind of stretch things out a bit, I feel... especially if they are building toward Becky getting her big underdog win at Mania by beating Alexa... with the push toward the Rumble coming up, I can definitely see that their focus on programming is going to go into the Rumble.
I really wish they would go ahead and just give Naomi a small program with Bliss that way she (Bliss) becomes a bit more legitimate in the interim before Becky regains the belt.
Naomi without a fucking doubt is the most underused talent in the WWE. Not just women, but men as well. She should for sure be next in line to feud with Bliss especially after getting that W over her a month or so ago. The Nikki-Carmella-Nattie stuff doesn't need the title, that's the sports entertainment shit they can run with for the women. I think building toward Bliss v. Naomi, have it go down at Mania, that would be awesome.

Alicia and Naomi though... two most underutilized women in WWE. Naomi's developed her style finally and Alicia is just an all around great wrestler and entertainer. I wish WWE puts a spotlight on her at some point.
Not really a fan of Alicia Fox. Maybe that's because she is underutilized so I'm not being exposed to her enough to even consider her GOOD. She doesn't really get the time to develop any character or her skills in the ring. Like this whole crazy chick persona she taps into, flinging mountain dew all over the place and wearing JBL's hat, felt very unnatural. Honestly, I'm shocked she's been in the WWE for 10 years and hasn't really done a damn thing. Cut her. Being the resident jobber doesn't exactly make the ratings go up.
Naomi on the other hand, she's shown so many times that she could be something more and she just gets pushed to the background. I know right now she's dealing with some kind of injury so I hope she gets back on t.v. asap. I read she's going to be in Marine 5....not sure if anyone even watches those movies as they feel like the sequels to Hercules with Kevin Sorbo that just kept popping out but like 2 people rented them lol. But anyway, let's see Naomi get some time to really GLOW. Maybe she should have stuck to being a heel, seemed like that was the best Naomi in terms of character. She was like the Randy Orton Evolution era of Team BAD where you had Triple H as the main guy but Orton was the most entertaining of the 4.
I liked Naomi the most when she was in Team BAD. I know she didn't like being a heel, but she did pretty well in the role nonetheless. Naomi's gotten allot better in the ring since then, but I liked the dynamic she had with Sasha and Tamina (Well, maybe not Tamina). I wouldn't mind a reunion at some point if Naomi and Sasha ended up on the same show again.
I think Naomi would have been better in the role of Nikki's attacker than Nattie. She's got more of a beef with not being used. Hell, they left her off that TD Nomination Graphic. Use that for her motivation.
Naomi's out with an ankle injury and I don't know how long her recovery time is. Hopefully they do something with her when she returns.

I honestly don't think this Nattie-Nikki-Carmella storyline is doing Nikki any favors. Does anyone else feel that way? The reason why I think this way is pretty much the audience is pretty fucking smart. Nikki is in a very similar situation as Michelle McCool was where people thought she was just in her top spot because she was with Undertaker, but she was a heel. I think Nikki worked wayyyy fucking better as a heel, playing into the stereotypes of what people believe about her. She's not going to get very much sympathy when wrestlers are like "You're only where you are because you have big fake titties and you're with John Cena." Because most of us have been saying that shit for 2-3 years now lol. Nobody is really going "Naw she's done this all on her own due to her talent." I think AJ Lee killed the "DIVAS" when she cut that "pipebomb" promo on them saying something like talent isn't an STD lol. Holy fuck that was BRUTAL and really was aimed at the Bellas more than any of the other Total Divas cast.
I don't think it's doing any favors because she doesn't need to be benefitting from it at this point in the story. Natalya and Carmella are the ones getting the rub by interacting with her. There's a hint of hypocrisy that Nikki could tap in on if they really wanted her to because really, how many times does Natalya go out of her way to mention who her dad is and who her uncle is?
I don't think Becky will be regaining the belt from Alexa. I think it's pretty obvious Mickie will dethrone Alexa upon her return. Naomi deserves more than a small program. Her time in the spotlight is overdue.

I wouldn't think they'd bring Mickie back at this stage in her career to be anything more than fodder for the new women.
I'm not saying she doesn't deserve a run with the belt. Just going by what they usually do when they bring back old veteran non mega stars.
Mickie's about as mega as you can get for the Women's Division. 5 time Women's Champion (second highest after Trish - 7x), 1 time Divas Champion, 3 time Knockouts Champion (not that they'll acknowledge it), and the only woman to hold the Women's, Diva's, and Knockouts titles (again, won't acknowledge it). Probably the most decorated women's wrestler in North America. Her feud with Trish is also fondly remembered by fans. I'd like to think they wouldn't waste all this to just bring Mickie in as glorified enhancement talent.
Then again, we expected them to do more with the Dudleys and look how that turned out. However, Bubba and D-Von were only around for a year. Mickie's supposed to have a 3 yr. deal. Seems like a long time to just job her out to the rest of the women.
In the long run, I think it would be far better to put the title on her, build her up as a strong champion, and then have one of the younger girl's beat her to get the rub. Wouldn't mind seeing psycho heel Mickie again (minus the lesbian angle). It would be something fresh and they could use another strong heel on Smackdown. Just make her vicious and willing to do anything to keep the title (similar to Brian Kendrick).
That's what I'm saying. The Dudleyz made FAR more money for WWE then Mickie (Not Trish or Lita) James ever did. She's accomplished and she's great and she certainly has at least a little name value.
But let's not get carried away here. They aren't going to bring Mickie in to build an entire division around her as champ. She will be there to put on good matches with the likes of Alexa and Becky and help propel those women going forward for the next ten years.

Well they certainly can't waste her as much on her second run as they did Gail Kim.
Mickie James looks amazing in the ring even better than she did on her first run, so I would say that makes it different then when the Fat boys I mean the Dudley Boyz made their final run she is legit a program with her and bliss would be great.
The Dudleyz came back in better shape than when they orginally left the WWE.
Dudleyz were just another team who suffered so the New Day could end Demolition's reign. Dudleyz should have won the belts for a 10th time, that would have been awesome. But I truly believe the WWE had it set in stone that ND were going to beat that record even a year ago.
Heel Dudleys getting another run would've been great for the team that beat them, but they turned out to be just another stepping stone. They were totally wasted. Thought they were onto something with the "No More Tables" angle.
