Useful Links Thread (UPDATED 13th May 2016)
Below are news sites, community sites, gaming help sites and deals sites that I and other posters have found useful. If you know of any other video game related sites that you wish to share post in this thread and I'll add it to the main post.
News/Reviews Sites
IGN - Reviews, previews, editorials, podcasts and guides for every game and system, but prepare to be annoyed by adverts unless you subscribe (or use Adblock).
Gamespot - Similar to IGN, worth checking out both
Kotaku - A 'blog' style site which focuses mainly on breaking news stories. Kotaku avoids the 'pre release hype' style content, focusing instead on editorials on video games that are already out. News stories are frequently reported here first.
Eurogamer - A large gaming website that is specifically European centric, their 'Digital Foundry' sub site is fantastic for technical analysis of games (i.e. performance, resolution, etc)
Polygon - Another large site with a very opinionated staff, they often report news that the other sites don't like to cover (i.e. controversial topics)
Destructoid - A well laid out gaming website featuring excellent reviews, up to date news and a very opinionated staff. One of my favourites.
Giant Bomb - Uniquely styled website featuring news and reviews but mostly focuses on video content. Boasts the largest editable video game database on the internet so if you're looking for information this is a good place to start.
Metacritic - Loved by some, loathed by others this is a review aggregator that gives each game a score out of 100 based on reviews from every major publication and website. A useful resource but you shouldn't take the number as the only indicator - read the reviews to find out more.
'Indie'/Community Sites
Twitch - Anyone who streams Let's Plays usually does so on Twitch - watch other people play video games if that's your sort of thing.
YouTube Gaming - YouTube's take on video game streaming to compete with Twitch.
NeoGAF - the largest video game forum on the internet, fantastic place to discuss and debate video game culture. News stories and rumours are often reported here first as there are several industry insiders who post.
Kinda Funny - Four guys who left IGN to go off on their own, they release video content every day and several podcasts.
Easy Allies - Most of the staff from GameTrailers formed Easy Allies after the GT closure.
The Jimquisition - Jim Sterling who used to be a editor at Destructoid now runs his own site on The Jimqusition. Features reviews, podcasts and video content.
Game Help
GameFAQs - Has just about everything you'll ever need when it comes to cheats, strategies, etc for all platforms new and old.
Xbox Achievements - A list of every achievement in every game, including several unreleased titles, and strategy guides to achieve them. This site also features news and reviews for XB1/360 games and the community is continually growing.
PlayStation Trophies - Sister site of XA and therefore has the same features in relation to PS4/PS3/PSV trophies.
IGN Wikis - IGN's guides are all editable by the community so they are among the best on the internet
Deals and Discounts
Cheap Ass Gamer - As the name implies this is a place to find cheap prices for video games. Other features include a search feature for finding the cheapest price for specific games, competitions, email alerts, and a growing and active community.
Hot UK Deals - (UK Only) A deal site that isn't just for video games but often includes them. Users find deals and post them up here.
Frugal Gaming - (UK Only) Another site that keeps track of the latest deals, you can filter deals by price which is sometimes useful if you only have a certain budget.
Postabargain - (UK Only) May be the best UK centric video game deals website, worth checking out

I just went to ToysRus. they are having a buy 2 get one on all video games, and video game accessories. I wish I would have seen this before grabbing Uncharted 2. Being this is bill week for me, and an expensive date that didn't pan out I am near broke. I was still able to walk away with a couple of Nintendo DS games. The sale expires tonight. Just a FYI for those of you who can take advantage.
I originally went in to find a b-day gift for a relative. I ended up getting three DS games for myself, and forgot about his gift altogether.
