Hmmm, backtracking a bit there. Seems odd that he has gone to a team that will struggle in the Championship though....

What with him being that good and all!

Coventry is exactly the sort of team I knew he would end up at. Average player for an average team.

Sammy was by far our best player last season. I wanted him to stay so badly. He would've pissed all over everyone in that league.

Marcus Bean would have kicked him in the face. That was probably the sole reason he didn't want to play in League One. TRAXX can you tell me everything you can about Cody McDonald's chances of doing well this season (now Holt has signed) I need info for my fantasy team THANKS

He did say that to be fair, he made it pretty clear. The comparison with people like Hayden Mullins is a good one.

Cody will probably partner Holt upfront. Jamie C has lost all confidence in his ability and his form going into the season is atrocious. At the back end of last season Cody came in (from non-League Dartford) and it was blatently obvious he has talent. Gunny will stick with him and it will pay off big style. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if ended up being up there in the scoring charts this season.

Cheers, sounds promising He's injured at the moment right? I picked him as a gamble, Alex picked Cureton a few picks before I got McDonald and he's bitter about picking an ageing spastic who misses open goals from 3 yards out instead of young Cody I think, he really has it in for the poor lad.

Torn - any sites I can see who's in and out of the clubs at your League One level? Google is being rubbish.

He did say that. But if a player is as good as suggested then he wouldn't have signed for one of the poorest teams in the Championship. Coventry will struggle this year, mark my words.

Mullins played for West Ham who were favourites. I would have expected a player of Clingan's supposed ability to have been snapped up by Boro, West Brom, Preston, Sheff Utd etc.

Yeah but we know how good you are at them

You're right this time though. I think they will be right down there, despite Coleman who I actually think is a fairly decent manager.

Ever since the best player in the world Jay Tabb went to Reading I've completely stopped liking Coventry completely. Tabby will destroy the league next with Reading, I'm pretty sure he already started to take Hunt's place on the wing (having seen them both for us, I've said this before, Tabb is far the superior player) so I'm surpised Reading haven't cashed in the ridiculous fees being touted for Hunt yet.

Oh I just use the Predictors for a bit of fun.

If only they had one where Thistle could win the First Division.

I spend enough time dossing about with the four they have. If they had the Conference and the Scottish leagues, I'd never get anything done.

He's done a great job warming the bench for Wolves before doing nothing at Coventry.

Speaking of Reading, RED DOG I might be going to the first game of the season with my Forest mate at Reading because I live really close when I'm not at uni.

It's either that or listen to Brentford at Carlisle on the radio.

And even that is in jeapordy now Matt Thornhill has gone on loan. The selfish shit.

I don't really know if he is any good. The only games he played were under Calderwood where most players just looked slightly baffled.

He will either excel or get lumps kicked out of him.

Honestly Coventry will probably go down this year. I'm annoyed Sammy has gone there thought his form last year would've got him a decent move. He may well go shite again but his form last year was sensational both internationally and at club level.

Looking forward to seeing G.MCCANN mixing it in this league next year. He's an interesting one.

BILLY Davies today insisted Nottingham Forest have still got work to do in the transfer market before the season kicks-off, saying: "So far we have only been playing catch-up."
The Reds have lavished close to £5m on nine new signings over the summer.
But Davies (pictured) is still hoping to add another defender and possibly a midfielder to his squad.
And, while he is delighted with the progress made in the transfer market so far, he says he is working hard to add further new faces, with Doncaster defender Matt Mills still a potential target, along with Leicester City's £2m-rated England Under-21 international left back Joe Mattock.
"I have said before that we have done some great work in the transfer market so far," said Davies. "But we are only playing catch-up with everyone else. It is not like we are spending money to put ourselves miles ahead of the opposition.
"If you look at the rest of the teams in the division, what we have done is added some new faces to what was a very thin squad.
"What we have now is a 20 to 22-man squad, which still has gaps in it, in my opinion.
"We still have work to do. But what we have done is do very well in the summer to support this young team with new signings; to add to what was a thin squad.
"All we have done, with the greatest of respect to some of the young kids, is replace the likes of Adam Newbold, Mark Byrne and Emile Sinclair, with the likes of Dexter Blackstock, David McGoldrick and Paul McKenna.
"We are not doing anything special. We are building our squad – because of the condition it was in – into one that can compete. Even with the additions, it will still be difficult. It is not going to be easy."
While defenders Joel Lynch and Chris Gunter both joined permanently last week, most of Forest's additions have come up front and in midfield.
And Davies hopes to add further strength in depth in his back four, with a central defender still high on his shopping list.
"We have specific players in mind, as we have done since the beginning of May," said Davies.
Forest named a strong team against Notts County on Saturday, although Chris Cohen, Guy Moussi, James Perch, Paul Smith and Joe Garner were all missing with slight injury problems.
But Davies says his team in the remaining two friendly matches – starting with the visit of Stoke tomorrow night – will not be a reflection of his starting line-up.
"What I am doing at the minute is looking at certain partnerships and combinations," he said

I forgot Norwich played Palace last night. We beat them 0-1 with Whaley scoring the goal. From the write up on our site it sounds like the new players are settling in nicely and Gunny's got us playing some decent football.

I'm genuinely excited about the coming season, which is something that I haven't felt since we were in the Premier League.

Damn right. We look as if we have a decent shot at doing that now, whereas at the end of last season I was extremely pessimistic at our prospects. I'm sure I predicted on here that we'd get relegated again and then go into administration. Luckily the new board members have backed Gunny, and the supporters have done their bit as well. At the minute we've sold 18,170 season tickets, which is obscene at League 1 level.

11:10 seems a but early for this football league show, unless they're going to shorten MOTD.

I can't imagine it lasting, the average MOTD fan isn't that interested in sitting around just watching the goals from Rotherham vs. Darlington but then I suppose it's better than a Dennis Quaid film.

Probably the best Season review I've seen in a while. Simple yet effective. It's got horror challenges, the shocking number of penalties conceded, lovely goals, comedy defending and some lovely Michael Owen finishes.

Grant Holt is going to be our superstar this year TraXX.

Torn doesn't like him though. Torn is the enemy

He didn't get a hat trick against Bennett and Phillips last year and he won't this year. Cody McDonald might though

We are playing Norwich in the 3rd league game of the season at Griffin Park. On a Tuesday evening. Should be GOOD.

Grant Holt will tear your defense a new arsehole, and then Cody Macdonald will stroll through and punch the 'keeper in the face.

Bennett will dominate Holt who will get frustrated and use his normal elbowing in the face tactic and get sent off. Then Marcus Bean will kick your midfield in the head before going on an 80 yard run and then he'll cleanly strike the ball into the bottom corner.

I would do this but I probably won't even keep track of my premiership one. Too many games; RFF, Sky Super6, Fantasy Premier League.

I would win if I did it though.

I might replace Cox with HULSE. I've also just seen Danny Haynes is listed as a midfielder so might get him to replace Mackie who is also a striker listed as a midfielder.

    True.

Even 10 years on I consider us to be a Premiership club so I've never even bothered with gaining the remotest amount of lower league knowledge as its not relevent.

Angel Rangel is the only one I didn't know. Obviously I could Wiki him but I'll let you tell me - that way you can tell me some ridiculous lie about him and it will probably make him seem more interesting than he actually is.

Rangel is a right back who plays for Swansea and is brilliant going forward. Signed by Martinez last year from some dodgy Spanish pub team after he was scouting some other player and saw him.

Tranmere Rovers owner Peter Johnson said he was "appalled" to discover the club listed for sale on the online auction site eBay.

The listing, now removed, purported to be from Dornoch Capital, the US firm tasked with finding a buyer for the club, and had a starting bid of $10m.

"We were appalled," Johnson told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"It's totally inappropriate. We immediately e-mailed them and said 'take it off right away'."

Johnson added: "You can imagine how shocked we were to wake up this morning to find out we were on eBay."

As your team is mainly Derby and ex Derby then no, it goes without saying that it's utter wank

Well speaking of Anderson and Swansea....... Who was Swansea's player of the year in 2007/2008???? Answers on a postcard.

He was injured for a lot of the season.

I think we only lost one away match with him in the side. Compared to losing pretty much every other match when he wasn't. You know that though of course.

Tabb will guide Reading to the Premier League this year, almost certainly.

Teale got a lot of assists in the 2nd half of the season. A massive amount. Think he might've got a couple at your shed of a stadium

Jay Tabb? Are you making players up again?

He sounds like a washing utensil.

    I can't argue that as I don't know.

Wouldn't swap him for Cohen though.

Besides, if he was any good we would have probably bought him seeing as we are such a big club with loads of cash

We should do a test to see if this is actually true. At the end of each post just put things like "xxx is a cunt" and see how long it takes to get picked up. Obviously not "xxx" that would be silly.

He can actually kick a football quite well for one, so he's got one skill over Cohen instantly.

You would be able to see him play next week for Reading against you if were going

Yeah well there are plenty of more attractive games to attend than Reading away. The days of going to all home and away are long long gone.

I think Red Dog is going to ask Torn for some personal tuition on lower league footballers. It seems like an internet predator thing to do. BBF phone torns mum instantly

I'll have a word and we'll make sure he stays indoors for a bit.
