Pardew is an odd manager. Good jobs at Reading and early West Ham, terrible end at West Ham (playing Mullins ahead of Mascheranodeserves to be shot) and fucking awful at Charlton.
I suspect he'll do well there if he has a bit to work with. I wonder how loaded Southampton actually are? Hopefully not too loaded.
I reckon Pardew should do a good job. Charlton was a bit dodgy because that club just looked like falling apart and managers were all failing after Curbishley. I wouldn't have minded him at Newcastle.

I've seen most of those and I'd agree that they're overrated. McLean is crap, Boyd is a lower-league player and nothing more, and Delph was completely overshadowed by Lee Sawyer when I saw him last.
Joe Ledley is the one on there that I rate the highest. Only seen Bodde once but thought he was good but I doubt that he's got enough about him to succeed as a Premier League player.
The thing is championship clubs seem to be regularly trying to take the piss out of premiership clubs.
I remember Burnley suggesting Kyle Lafferty was worth 10m as Nugent was worth 7m and Kyle has more international caps....
I agree completely. Those fees are nonsense especially when Tuncay seems to be valued at 7m i'd rather we paid the extra million and got him then Ledley who hasn't particularly impressed when i've seen him.
The McCormack price i think is probably fair and i would probably pay the 4.5m for him because even if he flopped in the prem for us. I think he could score enough goals to give us a chance of coming straight back up.
The prices Surnam and McCarthy went for are realistic. Both have the element of risk about them so they cant acheive the figures of established premiership stars
We're giving a trial to a young cambridge city winger who scored 13 goals last season. Seems to be a lot more non-leaguers getting a chance in champ recently with fahey and others. Maybe it wasn't Fahey maybe it's Shroot I'm thinking of

Why are you so horrified at this? None of these players have actually gone at these prices, it's their managers quoting what they 'value' them at way over the odds to stop clubs either bidding or unsettling them, OR to try and force the price up as they know Premiership clubs have this kind of money to throw around.
