Not really mate. He scored a wonder goal for us and did very little else. Looks like a ponce aswel. Maybe Keane can get the best out of him.

We've signed Lewis Price on loan, CONFIRMED. Pleased with that, I shall give you regular updates on his progress.

    Brill.

I think he's a full international. Almost certain of that. Wouldn't be suprised if he stayed at the end of the year. Hopefully Clough sees him as long term number 1 and is going to get rid of Caroll soon enough

We haven't signed anyone for a week now. Disappointing.

So we've broken our transfer record for some Argentine I've never heard of. Not sure what to make of it, he's apparently a deep-lying playmaker, which suggests we are going to try and play some football nexts season which is a plus. Best thing about this signing though is the fact it seems to be Magilton's and not Paladini's. Very positive.

Also we've taken David Connolly on trial. No thanks

    I'll quantify this.

QPR have signed an Argentine I've never heard of.

The club he comes from is the one that produced Kempes and Ozzie Ardiles about 35 years ago though...

    I don't get me either.

To be honest, I was just being mischevious there, playing on Torn and a few others assumptions that I know all.

I really don't. But the fact that is, no one seems to. Not the guy who watches the Argentinian leagues I know, not Bert Kassies's lot, not Wiki (well, if they're there), not JIJ: he's a complete unknown.

    Which makes me curious.

What's the Championship record fee? £3.5mil is actually quite a lot for a Championship club.

He went to Cardiff for 500k and Sunderland didn't sign him until they were promoted and then he went back to Cardiff for £3mil, I think.

It is but its not clear whether all 3.5 million is on the transfer fee or whether the club is including add-ons and wages in the figure.

    Lots of spin.

What's all this about a Newcastle revolt? Apparently Beye, Taylor, Butt and Smith are all gonna put in transfer requests if Ashley doesn't either install Shearer or get the club sold. Playah powah.

According to Keano we've agreed a fee for two players from one club. The likely duo is Daryl Murphy and Carlos Edwards of Sunderland. I kinda hope I'm wrong...Would love David Healy!

Edwards really was superb before that injury. One of the standout players in the Championship during Sunderland's promotion season.

I haven't seen him since but I expect he may be ruined.

Yeah I'm not convinced by Kinnear. Shearer didn't too bad considering the fixtures, injuries etc.

I think the squad needs overhauled get people in who are eager to play. This takeover is hurting them so much we're mid july and they've brought no-one in yet

Kinnear done shit with Forest too, everyone seems to forget how he got relegated with them. It baffles me how he got the Newcastle job in the first place - I spose no one else wanted it.

They need to bring in some players soon, with the squad they have at the moment I dont think they could go up (assuming Beye and Bassong leave).

Cant wait til Keano's blue army take em on september 26th LIVE ON BBC ONE!

Correction, Megson relegated Forest. He had a whole half season to keep them up, and won less games than Kinnear did in that time.

I mean, if we disagree there, we might as well give Shankley the credit for Paisley's European Cups!

As for the second part of the quote - no one else wanted the job, you seem quite right about that.

Kinnear did well with Wimbledon and Luton.

When Megson took over Kinnear has killed the club almost beyond repair. He did a great job keeping us up the season before but the following year he just lost the plot.

Megson takes some blame for being shit himself over the next 2 years but it was a fucking impossible job keeping us up that season.

    Complete bullshitter too.

Also said that Brian Clough dying was "a distraction".

One of the reasons for Megson winning less games was because he had to sell Andy Reid and Michael Dawson as soon as he came. Our two best players by a mile.

Barnet have just signed Micah Hyde and Yannick Bolaise (on loan from Plymouth).

Potentially the spine of our team could have a combined age of 109 with Gary Breen (35), Hyde (34) and Paul Furlong (40). compared to our full backs and wingers (Gillet, Devera, Adomah and Bolaise) who's combined age is 86.

At least we're mixing youth and experience, I guess.

A BID to buy relegated Newcastle United was last night revealed as a hoax masterminded by a fan of arch rivals Sunderland.

The £150million offer - from wealthy fans headed by tycoon Rick Parkinson - was reported on TV, radio and websites.

He claimed he wanted to "save the club from any more embarrassment".

But "Rick" turned out to be entertainer Richard Parker, 38.

    He said: "It's banter."

Some "ITKs" have been shown up as a result of this, posting about how a consortium of local businessmen have big financial muscle, turns out it was just Rick having a laugh.

There used to be some fella who claimed to be a Spanish ITK that posted on a Newcastle forum I read. He used to post some of the most inane nonsense that I have ever read yet everyone seemed to lap it up. His grammar and spelling was worse than
some of the foreigners we've had here.

He even suggested that the entirety of football was being run by organised crime and gangstas.

    Barker
    Kisnorbo
    Bannan
    Porter
    Mark Randall

All have the markings of someone with an eye for potential.

Saul Deeny is awful. I hate his face

I thought Barker wasn't joining? Kisnorbo is.. alright, I guess. I think he got released by Leceister because they have better than him already, basically. Will Porter be first choice this season, he was well good at Oldham but haven't seen him beyond that. Thought Motherwell was a weird move for him.

With a fully fit squad you have to wonder who we can get who is better than

Bywater, Addison, Leacock, Green, Commons, Davies, Barnes, Porter, Hulse

FullBacks and Savage have a question mark over them. Croft could be a good signing. Kisnorbo is decent back up. Fotheringham will be shite I reckon.

Barker and Brayford are in the balance I think

He's got potentially a brilliant squad

Croft will be quality. He's got a great cross on him, and with the strikers they've got they'll score loads because of him.

Fozzy is a terrible footballer. He was stripped of the club captaincy by Gunny when he took over and had his contract cancelled. That should tell you all you need to know about the guy. Just absolutely fucking useless.

That's probably close to 4 times what we paid for MacDonald (who is out until NOVEMBER now ) for a loan fee alone

Grant Holt was 150k and everyone thought that was LOADS, and now Luton are paying more for Liam bloody Hatch, amazing.

Well chuffed. Sawyer's quality. I just watched his interview on our OS and he looks so happy to be back, bless him.

If we can bring in a left back and a centre back then we'll be alright next year. Midtable, but alright. It's going to be a beast of a division.

I saw Alan Bennett has said he'll make up his mind about joining you by the end of the month. Bit of a cheek really seeing as how the season will only be a week away then. Any rumours about him speaking to anyone else?

He's signing, definitely. He only hasn't officially signed yet because he can get 1 month severance pay from the PFA, and that would be more money for that month that the contract he'd be on at us, so he's waiting to get that. He's been in training with us since the first day of training, went to Spain with the squad earlier in pre-season and has participated in our friendlies, as well as telling some of our fans that he will sign.

Ohh and Kisnorbo as well hopefully this week.

    Out so far

    Nyatanga
    Dickinson
    Villa
    Ellington
    Sterjovski
    Todd
    Camara
    Kaz(end of loan)
    Barazite(end of loan)
    Price

    Next Out
    Caroll
    Stewart
    Alby
    Claude Davis

    Potential to Leave
    Pearson (Big wages)

He's reshaped the squad quite well. Feel we are a striker light. Don't want Commons,Varney and Davies to be our only backup to Porter and Hulse.

2 good young centre-backs at the club and Buxton signed should mean we have loads of cover. Leacock,Barker,Addison,Kisnorbo.

CM of Green and Savage. With Pearson, Addison and even Barnes capable of doing a job.

2 wingers from Commons,Davies, Barnes, Croft, Teale.

    It's all sounding alright lads.

Just fuck Saul Deeney right off.

News before Barnet's game with Arsenal this weekend.

Sierra Leone international Albert Jarrett, a 24-year-old left winger who was with Arsenal as a schoolboy, earns a place in Ian Hendon's squad for Saturday's game against the Gunners after impressing as a trialist.

He is one of four trialists listed for the prestigious game.. the others are former Hendon goalkeeper Will Viner, centre back Clovis Kamdjo, a former Reading youth team captain, and left back Ahmed Dean, who was with Macclesfield Town last season.

Anyone got ay ideas about any of them?

Arsenal are bringing Vermaelen, Arshavin, Nasri and Clichy amongst other big names too. I won't be going to the game but players like that are bound to make it a sell out and made us a shit load of moneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!!!

Jarrett was at Watford for a while wasn't he? If so then I'm convinced that we had him on trial a year or so back. Really quick and it looked at the time that he would be joining us then he just seemed to drop off the radar.

Vermaelen and Senderos centre back pairing probably. Excellent.

If you sign McKenna red-dog I assume he is first choice CM and possibly captain. Who will he play with McGugan? Cohen? What happens with Moussi? Is Billy playing 4-3-3 again in pre-season? If so I guess McKenna, McGugan and Cohen will be the central 3 with Earnshaw, Adebola and Tyson upfront?

I'd say he will definitely be captain. Luke fucking Chambers was captain against Sporting Lisbon last week. (who we beat, by the way).

Playing 4-4-2 so I imagine it will be McKenna and either McGugan or Moussi with Cohen on the left. Or Tyson on the left and Cohen in the middle. Either way, Cohen will definitely play, he is probably our best player.

Yeah that's what I thought I just wondered where Lewis would play. Billy doesn't seem to like young flair players that much

He's just bought Anderson and McGoldrick though.

Maybe he has learned his lesson.

McGoldrick isn't much of a flair player though he's just a lanky speed machine and Anderson probably isnt even as good as teale. NO OFFENSE

Why do Norwich only seem to want to sign window lickers?

Probably not. He is a lot faster than me. Speed is vital in the modern game.

I'm more of a Nigel Clough type player.
