I've achieved everything there is to be achieved in the game and it's a pain to post a team on our phone at 2:30pm every Saturday so I'm out.

Given what they have been through I should be wanting Coventry to win today HOWEVER given the shit they pulled that saw Barnet go down and some very questionable officiating in both legs against my beloved (3rd team) Notts County I am all about #TeamExeter today.

It's a difficult job for Lampard. The expectations will be high due to the finishes in recent years but he's been left with an old squad with maybe one saleable asset and I presume limited funds? If he can get a tune out of the senior players then it's obviously full of proven talent but I don't think it's going to be that easy.

Well Rowett was told before end of last season if we didn't go up there would have to be a change of model (utilising the u23s and academy) supplemented by signing lower league 'gems' and loans, Which by what Frank said this morning has been made very clear to him. I think mid table would be realistic with outside play off chance but any fan that thinks he will wave a magic wand and get us up on 100 points or something is delusional.

Well Alan Hardy (Owner), And also owner of my local team Ilkeston Town as it goes, has the money but this reeks of all the eggs in one basket as I doubt they have finished yet.

How many managers have they had in the last couple of years? Seems like they have at least 3 sackings a season.

Something like that, Derby have had a few though Though we finally seemed to be sticking with Rowett until he slithered his way to Peter Coates.

Coventry just signed Ex-Dulwich Hamlet player Reise Allassani for an undisclosed fee. That's a big jump up. Good on him. He was exceptional last season. 19 goals in 33 odd games.

You ever seen Palermo's list of managers? It is absolutely bonkers.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...lermo_managers

    Since November 2015 they've had 13 managers.

I mean we had Hoffenheim last year, Villareal, Espanyol etc in the last decade so I guess it is a bit of a damp squib.

What are people's thoughts on Stan Collymore? He's one of my favourites on twitter and speaks a lot of sense, backs up most of what he says etc. On the other hand, can also be a bit barmy. He's had a lot to say on the Villa situation, as he would being a Villa fan.

Well he is a cunt, Some Derby fan goaded him so he came back with a dig about the Philpott house fire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Philpott) and then when he got called on it by Derby, Forest and neutral fanns he liked he threatened anyone who kept saying that was what he was talking about with a lawyer.

(It was literally the only thing he could have meant, Something along the lines of 'At least I don't go burning my house down with kids in it')

He's a great anti-racism campaigner and advocate for mental health.

He also chats quite a lot of shit and is hilariously thin skinned.

JP nailed it. Recently his point about black managers and the Rooney Rule was the correct point. Using Sol Campbell of all people as his case study was.....idiotic.

Yes, don't get me started on that one. He was quite irate that Gerrard got Rangers, Lampard got Derby, but Campbell couldn't get an interview at Grimsby, despite holding higher qualifications than the other two. Insinuated it was a race thing. I mean, is there an odder, more arrogant fella out there than Sol Campbell? I can't quite put into words what it is with Sol Campbell, he just comes across as a very odd man.

I'm quite confident that Steven Gerrard is more arrogant tbh and I'm the only one but I liked his England formation as it showed creative thinking. Football is very santized these days

Collymore's phone-in show is a big miss from the football podcast/broadcast scene. It was a breath of fresh air to have a contributor who was informed and prepared to make the effort to connect to clubs and stories.

I keep meaning to check out his RT show.

On the Sol Campbell not getting jobs could it have something with the fact he walked out on Arsenal at half time because he was struggling to cope with the pressure. He walked out on Notts County after 1 game because he felt that standard of football was beneath him.

Top clubs are going to expect him to be able to cope with the mental strength needed in a managerial role and lower level clubs will do also and not want to feel that they are somehow beneath him.

Add to that some of his comments and he's quiet an odd character. None of his former team-mates and managers seem.to want to start him off by giving him a coaching role either. Sven did and he walked out after 1 game.

Hardly surprising clubs arent beating down the door to offer him work.

The RT show is good. He's well prepared, as you'd expect, and it covers a wide range of topics.

But yeah, he's very hit and miss, generally speaking.

Kinda weird when those deals happen then Forest seem to be signing a bloke from Benfica for 10m quid and it's almost standard Championship business at this point

Yeah it's mad and seemingly West Brom just want to buy your midfield?

We wanked a load of cash up the wall a few seasons ago and guess we'll take it a bit easier now.

Least stoke will probably be raking in 60/70m on players this summer if Butland/Shaqiri and some others go

No serious rumours about anyone yet. Not sure if anything is in the Sawyers rumour. Woods will be linked with a lot of teams and is the most likely along with Mepham to go for big money this window I'd have thought.

Thought those loans were strange last January as they must have cost a wedge and showed no improvement to the team. I guess they feel they have to follow suit with other teams spending big.

If Bruce is sticking around then the real winner of the transfer window is whoever gets McCormack on the cheap.

I thought they were broke as well? They were under an embargo for ages until they sold Assombalonga and thought they were pretty wage heavy too....

Who knows maybe it works for them but hopefully they go bust

Rejected another bid of 10m from Bournemouth for Mepham, wonder what our valuation is, we won't budge unless it's met... 20m?

Mad for who, them offering 10 or us rejecting it? He's worth way more than that and he's on a 5 year deal, as always with Benham we just simply won't ever accept a bid that's below our valuation

Is he though? He's played like 20 league games. Seems like a small sample size tbh I'm not saying he's not good but 20m seems mad

So, Norwich have sold their 2 best attacking midfielders (for 35M), and released our talismanic creator... Mid table at best this year.

You warned me about a rash Peruvian, not about a rash Frenchy and Dane!

Harry Kane winning the Golden Boot will still see me break even on my tournament betting. Still, was banking on Mitro and was the most I've ever gambled on a single bet.

I always assumed he was good but I think I just like his name. JOSEFZOOON.

Leeds under Bielsa or Derby under Fat Frank - interesting choice.

    Obviously never choose Leeds ffs

Amazing business tbh. Last year of contract, signed on a free, resigned after that, covers the cost of his much younger replacement. When the season ended I never really thought he would be the one clubs would be interested in or worried about losing but fair enough.

He's good but pretty inconsistent. He had a storming few months to end the year and his goal vs QPR was a delight, just sometimes he will have games where you want him hooked at half time only to come out and absolutely piss it in the second half

Their attack looks good. West Brom too, especially if they get Gayle. But both teams haven't changed too much from being relegated.

You know with Rowett he'll be trying to build a robust team and Stoke are built for that or at least some of the squad is. Afobe as a battering ram is pretty much the best you can get in the league I would think as he can finish too. They apparently look very light on goals in pre-season but Ince can make an impact there and if they do make a late break for Vydra you would think they should have enough. Viva la shithouse. Berahino should destroy this league but he seems dead on the inside now.

West Brom I would worry about a little. I would expect more departures soon and they haven't brought much in. McCauley and Evans away. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jay Rodriguez and others go. Leko and Burke have the potential to be silly but it's a big risk to have them as your main wingers (assuming Chadli is gone). Will be a pleasure seeing Brunt though

Actually finding this year the hardest to predict atm. Top 6 for me (no order)

    Derby (ive got carried away)
    Brentford
    Stoke
    Leeds
    Middlesborough
    Swansea

Hard though because Villa should be there or there abouts. West Brom you would expect to. Forest have spent big and Karanka has had some time to get settled now.

Have a funny feeling Blackburn will do well too

Think Swansea and West Brom will both struggle in midtable

You shouldn't need to if you have Joe Allen.
