    Lord only knows.

All his newfound speed and strength was supposed to make August bend to him in November, but clearly it didn’t work that way. I do wonder if he has it dialed in a bit more 5 months later.

I’m so pumped for the Masters. I’ll have it on the computer all day at work. Can’t wait.

Yeah, my work has been told I’m basically gonna be useless.

whether they remember I told them that or not is not something I am gonna be held responsible for.

The Masters this year didn’t have a ton of drama. Only one moment where I was concerned for Matsuyama (I had placed a wager on several golfers, including him). Was still a good win for him, that Zalatoris kid looked good. Spieth still playing well. Xander was actually a disappointing T3. I’m just happy golf is now officially in full season.

My own second round of the year this upcoming weekend. That’s how i know the weather is turning in the northeast.

I am by no means an avid golf fan, but I was happy to catch a good part of this. Golf needed something like this.

How many of us were expecting Phil to implode on the back nine?

Yeah a sports reporter tweeting that is uncalled for.

Good for Mick. I’m happy for him.

Was playing with Caito yesterday and had my first eagle. Holed out from about 120 yards out, from the rough with a 9 iron. It was glorious.

I didn’t get my wish of Tiger missing the cut.

Augusta once again makes Bryson his bitch.

I also enjoy Scheffler leading after 36. Just turned the number one player in the world, 3 wins this year, and he is one of the many forgotten because ppl paying attention are too busy sucking off Eldrich to notice.

I placed money on 5 guys to win. I think two of them are even or better so there’s that. I’ll be watching as much as possible today, as well as watching tomorrow both in the golf cart and at my buddies house.

Love the win for Scheffler. It looked like we may get a final pairing dogfight, before Smith absolutely melted down at 12 and it took 3 holes for him to recover. Hoping he gets back to it.

Rory….. what a goddamn day. Shame he started 10 back because that was an amazing round. Overshadowed Morikawa, who had a damn good day himself. But also, what a moment for the two of them on 18. I don’t think i want to be on the gallery on a Sunday at a tournament, as you miss so much….. but that moment in time made me wish I was.

Very interesting stuff happening with various big-name golfers leaving the PGA to join LIV Golf. The industry is being shaken up. Dustin Johnson just resigned from the PGA. The first LIV event is this weekend and I believe it'll be airing on YouTube and Facebook.

The true colours are emerging as the degens gratefully accept the Saudi blood money.

While I don’t fight anyone when they make the point about blood money or whatever, I do have to wonder…..

If anyone of us were offered between 50 and 150 MILLION dollars to do something that we already do for a profession, setting up our family for generations…. How many of are actually saying no? I’m gonna guess far less than will actually say they will when they don’t have that offer in front of them.

Let's also not pretend that the money behind the PGA Tour comes from altruistic means. It is full of money from China and Big Pharma and the Middle East itself.

There are a lot of things I don't know, like how bloody really is this Saudi money, and how much are they paying these PGA golfers who are jumping ship versus what they make on the PGA. And to your point _me, I don't know much about how "good" the PGA is to begin with - I don't know who owns it or how fairly they treat their players financially or otherwise.

But my generally feelings: I would probably take the money, yea.

The immediate argument that I’ve seen ppl respond with in other places, (especially when you point to the NBA protecting their business interests in China) is “well yeah, but the NBA isn’t actually funded by China or the US gvmt”. Which…… yes and no. Does it come directly from the Chinese government, no. But do they do everything they can to make sure the Chinese gvmt doesn’t shut down their interests there…. Definitely.

Nevermind what business our own government (and I would guess Canada’s as well, though I’m less aware of that) does with the Saudis as well.

Everyone is hypocrites. It’s just to what degree are you allowed to look like it and what label you can put on it to make it “palpable”.

Biggest news of the last two days, Matthew Fitzpatrick winning the US Open and Brooks Koepka joining LIV.

Colin would probably be the most damaging to the PGA, as he is a guy currently on the rise more than any other younger player that has moved over. Will be interesting.

The US Open was pretty great.

I don't really care about the LIV stuff anymore because I'm someone who really only watches majors, which will seemingly be unaffected. I'd be curious to hear your guys thoughts on the LIV format and broadcast if any of you watched it, though. It's a team challenge kind of thing, I believe.

The thing I hate about the LIV Tour is the same thing I hated about the "Super League". It someone made the PGA (or UEFA) the good guys. The PGA is not "the good guys"; UEFA was not "the good guys". They have no issues taking money from all kinds of questionable sources (including the Saudis just last year).

    * 3 days vs 4 days? 3 days seems like enough
    * No cuts vs larger field? I don't really care
    * Paying all the players vs paying some of the players? Definitely pay everyone.
    * I don't get the team part at all.
    * Never watched one second of it and can't imagine I ever will.

However, they are going to be playing in Boston over Labor Day weekend, and I’m highly considering going.

Final day of the Open. Rory is clearly the fan favorite. I’m rooting for Hovland (have money on him) but the rest of the top 10 still looking good. Think DJ is close to that still, but will need to have a good day and help from the leaders to win (money on him as well).

On a separate thought, DJ winning would def be something interesting in the whole LIV v PGA Tour conversation. Another reason I wouldn’t hate DJ winning

EDIT. Dj is in 7th, so still within potential striking distance.

    LOL, really?

I guess there were enough (influential) PGA guys who wanted a way to slide sideways into that Saudi blood money without looking like complete sellouts…

It comes down that the PGA suing LIV was a bad idea while it was a great idea for the Saudis. For some dumb ass reason, the Saudis sport washing wing in this, the IPF who owns LIV are considered part of the Saudi Arabian government and have diplomatic immunity. The PGA does not, so the LIV was going to bleed them dry. I for one, think this is bullshit and now worried if this will embolden the Saudis to just buy leagues instead of dicking around with single teams. It sucks, because the US should not grant them this type of immunity since basically a corporation. Does that mean other countries like China or even the US can make these quasi corporations/governments can just swoop in and buy whole leagues. Its rather distributing. It also doesn't help that people like Dechaumbers who like money more than their souls.
