Abraham took over after that and landed some big shots, but Taylor was still in the fight. It'll be interesting to see what the judges had at the end of the eleventh.

I'd really like to see a rematch. For being a kid, I was impressed by Dirrell, but not overwhelmed. I think he certainly has a nice career ahead of him. Boxed a bit like Mohammed Ali tonight.

I had the fight fairly even on points going into the 12th. The problem is that Abraham truly dominated the 2nd half of the fight. I don't really see any judges giving a guy a decision when they win the first 7 rounds but lose the last 5...
Problem with Dirrell was the ridiculous complaining and trying to get a point deducted from Froch (there was one particular point where they clinched and he just drops to one knee, the fruit). I reckon the judges were thus clouded a bit and gave the 50-50/55-45's to Froch even though he was being outpointed. He's got skills has Andre, he just needs to develop a bit of generalship where his defensive class isn't confused for passiveness, because he certainly has plenty of skill and a pretty good dig as well. Man up a bit and he'd be World Class.
Froch has taken this macho thing to heart. He just wants a big dust up everytime, and pretty much abandons his technique for LUNGES nowadays. He's fucked if he plays that shit with Kessler or Abraham.

Went to the Boxing Friday night in Liverpool. First time I have been to the arena, nice arena.
Disappointing fight really with Smith/Quigley, very messy, Smith obviously the better boxer, Quigley a tough fighter, I gave it to Smith as he was slightly neater and tried to keep it free flowing, Quigley held too much for me, he needs to decide if he wants to be a boxer or an MMA fighter. Quigley looked more willing to take shots though and was game.
De Gale is looking more a good pro, but gonna struggle for fans with his attitude. Gavin looks very good, handled the slight step up in opponent very well, looking forward to seeing him fight better opposition at the back end of next year, loads of potential.
Lots of excellent boxing on the horizon. I am particularly excited about Johnson/Dawson, and I will probably get the Cassamayor and Judah fights on Friday as well. The following week we have Cotto/Pac-Man(which has an under card that is shaping up NICELY) and the week after we have Kessler/Ward. Possibly the best month of boxing in 10 years.
I hope they rematch Casemayor and Katsidis soon. Their first fight was a fucking WAR, plus Katsidis would probably catch Joel at a better point in his career for him to beat him.
I've been going back and forth on Pacquiao vs. Cotto. First I was Pac-Man all the way, too quick, and Cotto gets hit too much. Then when you remember the obstacles Cotto had in his last 2 proper fights (fighting a real life Terminator, and then continuing with a horrible cut for 9 rounds last time out), you start thinking that there's no guarantee that Pacquiao can handicap him like that, espescially being the naturally smaller man. But THEN you think of the comparable damage over their last 3 fights, Pacquiao with 3 shutouts and Cotto with 2 wars sandwiching the Jennings mauling. He won't be the same fighter he was before that, plus the tough fights prior to that with Mosley, Torres and Corley.
Final prediction would be Cotto getting pulled out after the 9th or 10th on cuts. Pacquiao's punches should bash him up, he has a lot of scar tissue. Would like to see how Manny deals with a power punch from a natural welterweight, I think he'll go if Cotto can hurt him with enough time to spare. Awesome fight!
Cotto hasn't been the same fighter ever since Margarito hit him over and over again with plaster bricks. Manny just seems impossible to beat right now. Cotto probably has as good of a chance as anyone, but I still think Manny KO's him late in the fight.

Haye is only favourite over here because everyone will be betting on him. Valuev is favourite in Germany. The bookies are just covering themselves. I don't think they have a clue what will happen.
I can't see any other result than a Haye points win. I think Haye will be too quick and hopefully too smart to put himself in a position for Valuev to KO him. Any sign of trouble and he'll be out of there in a flash, with Valuev slowly crawling after him. Valuev should never be able to win this fight on points - I expect Haye will out-land him about 3:1. Haye probably won't KO Valuev because a) Valuev is fucking massive and has a proven chin, and b) Haye probably won't be looking for a sustained assault. He'll be coming in with three or four punch bursts and getting out again. Valuev will be swinging at thin air.
Think RJJ/Ruiz. I'm not saying Haye is on Jones' level, and obviously the weight difference between the two will be far greater on Saturday than it was in that fight, but I see it following a similar pattern. Not even the German judges will be able to screw Haye out of it.
