Piss aff Wardy! I read this afternoon that Ng is one of the bidders again. Fucking stupid arseholes are partially to blame for this, however I think they delay in the SPL decision hasn't helped.

So that would make him one of the top 5 Australian players in hte world then. Cool, that will do me.

Now, we just need to cap him FFS.

Hearts have fucking destroyed hibs today. Quite delightful. Feel bad for Lewis as he is a good lad but if he wasn't playing for hibs he'd be supporting our little edinburgh brothers.

I like Ryan McGowan, didn't realise he was Australian til recently. I'd always imagined him to talk with a comedy central/eastern European accent.

fair play to Zaliukas, you could see that meant a lot to him today. Looks like about half of that Hearts team are off in the summer and the team will be concentrating on the youth academy going forward. Dunno if that means Lithuania or what

Hearts finished 5th above Saints in the league to go into Europe, but seeing as they won the Scottish Cup, Saints go into Europe too.

Right, so more twists and turns at Rangers. Im suprised we're not all discussing this more. It's now boring the tits off me but I have to deal with it day to day so at least theres stuff happening.

    TO SUMMARIZE;

    - Greene has popped in the CVA proposal. Says he'll plow in 8.5 million to creditors. Nice in theory, but really depends on the outcome of the big tax case. They could end up with plenty more in other settlement fees and transfer fee's, but it all comes down to how the BTC ends up. Still, at least he's putting money in the club.

    - They got the SFA'S 12 month transfer embargo overturned. We kinda knew this would happen because that particular punishment wasn't even on the SFA's list of possible sanctions. The SFA did have a bit of leeway to come up with one, but that wasn't deemed approptriate. They now need to think of another punishment. Interestingly enough, Rangers were raging at the SFA because they thought they had a deal with them that would be a fine and a banning from the cups for a year. Much to the SFA's chagrin, this now looks like it'll end up happening. FIFA and UEFA are probably not happy with the SFA at this point.

    - The SPL meet today to decide whether to levy any more sanctions on them. Bit up in the air at the moment but I've heard from two SPL chairmen who both say they would be in administration by christmas if Rangers weren't in the league.

    SO. I'm guessing they end up;

    -Winning the BTC
-Staying in the SPL but being deducted points.
    -Not playing in the cup
    -Buying some players.
    - Finishing mid table

then we're back to normalish next year.

June 14th is a bit day. Thats when they decide whether the CVA is accepted.

Slare, why are those two chairmen worried? Is it because they budget for bigger attendances in games against Rangers? Or would the tv money be reduced?

Bit of everything basically. Losing their two biggest gates of the year which they heavily depend on and the fact they'll probably lose a decent chunk of T.V money. That and they don't think the fans will be out as much in general games if the league is less competitive (I didnt quite get that one, because surely it gives them a chance to fight for second/go on a cup run).

It basically all money. Correct me if I'm wrong SLARE but I've read that they sky deal pretty much only stands if there is 4 leauge old firms and sky can chuck Scottish fitbaw from their schedules? And in theory is making some chairmen shit their pants.

I think the lifting of the embargo should sort of worry some of the fans. Easier now to sell players as they dont have to be replaced by youth players right?

I'm not 100% sure if its as open and shut as that, but yeah, thats pretty much it. Sky are allowed to reneg on the contract if there arent the allocated 4 Old Firm games. It's not been confirmed I don't think but its pretty generally accepted thats the case.

Also, SOF, spot on. Fans think this will keep players at the club. Will it bollocks. They'll still be having a fire-sale and just buying in cheap but established guys (probably from round about the SPL and english lower leagues) to keep them ticking over. They still need plenty of money incoming from transfers/to free up wages because the club were/are running at a 10m defecit.

Also, interesting point is all the players who took wage cuts have their wages going back up to normal levels as of Friday, so im guessing Greene will want the higher earners off the books as soon as possible.

Well as long as we keep players that want to play for the club I couldn't give a fuck. Laffs, shagger, Naismith, davis and goian are the first to go IMO.

Well, Naismith says he wants to stay for what that's worth.

I think most of them will be gone though. Could end up being a positive for the club and the Scottish game in the long run by bleeding in younger homegrown players and getting a bit of Scottish talent out there.

If the likes of ness, bedoya, little, McCabe ect all start playing more then I'll be a happy man.

There's good young lads there that just need a chance. I honestly don't think Sally is the man to mold this new youth players into a squad of contenders, can't change a game and looks fucking knackered after a year in the job.

The only player I would want to keep over 30 is bocanegra best player last year by fucking miles and would be a good man to captain a young group of kids. Proper professional IMO.

Towards the end of the season when given a chance little looked great.

I would Naismith to stay and he is by far and away our best and most creative player. However, due to injuries and wages if a decent offer comes in then he has to go. Rangers simply cannot afford the luxury of having a potential injury prone player eating up large wages every year.

Problem is, if the SPL throw you out, the SFA can still throw out your membership there and you wont have a league to play in.

    Slim possibility, but could happen.

Murray is a criminal, Whyte is a criminal, the board is full of criminals, the SFA are utter fucking criminals for having no fit and proper persons test for the owner of a club. Sheer criminality driven by the old boys club that is the funny handshake cunts of Rangers, the Bank of Scotland and the SFA/SPL. Fucking disgrace.

If I was a player I would be off. Would be lovely to keep little though he had a great end to the season and has looked very promising.

This appears to be the proposal put to the SFL teams today:

The proposal to SFL clubs, titled "Your Game, Your Club, Your Future

WHY DOES RESISTANCE TO CHANGE IN FOOTBALL EXIST?

    •Fear of the unknown

    •Lack of involvement

    •Lack of information

    •Threat to power, or status

    •No perceived benefits

    •Fear of failure

    •Unless behaviour changes, nothing changes

    UNDERSTANDING RESISTANCE TO CHANGE

    •Perceptions of being “worse off”

•If the reasons for change are not clear

•If implementation plans are not clear

•If there is no clear “link” with your own objectives

•If a change is seen as a threat to your long term security or well being

WE THEREFORE NEED SOME CLEAR COMMUNICATION PRIORITIES FOR THE SFL

•Logical and positive communication to eliminate doubt, threat and insecurity

•Fully explained in terms of short and long term benefits to you and the organisation

•Not left to the last minute

•Involving you at an early stage

•And seen in the context of a wider strategic plan

    CURRENT REALITY

•Rangers have no where to go

•SPL Clubs have indicated their voting intentions

•SFA wish to see a solution in the interests of the game

    •Moral/sporting question vs financial collapse

•Are The SFL are in a position to accommodate a solution?

    WE HAVE CONSIDERED FIVE SCENARIOS

    1.Rangers stay in SPL

    2.Rangers to Third Division

    3.Rangers to First Division

    4.Rangers to SPL2

    5.Rangers terminated or suspended

    1. RANGERS STAY IN SPL

    •Not an option

    •SPL clubs have indicated no

    2. RANGERS TO THIRD DIVISION

•Takes approximately 16 million out of the game

•Commercial partners walk away and seek compensation

•The settlement agreement becomes a major risk

•The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs

    3. RANGERS TO FIRST DIVISION

•Reduces SPL income by approximately 30%

•Balances short term need for redemption with a least worst case financial scenario

•It is financially possible to recover from this scenario

    4. RANGERS TO SPL2

•Currently not supported by the SFA

    •Creates a bigger divide

•Leads to some short term commercial losses

•A legal challenge could paralyse the game

•The overall pot would be much less than anticipated

    5. RANGERS TERMINATED OR SUSPENDED

    •Complete financial meltdown

    •Settlement agreement is obliterated

•Fans are lost to the game forever

    •The game survives but where?

WE HAVE CONSIDERED THE FIVE SCENARIOS 1 Rangers stay in SPL 2 Rangers to Third Division 3 Rangers to First Division 4 Rangers to SPL2 5 Rangers terminated or suspended

**SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE BEING ASKED TO CONSIDER? **

•Rangers in the IRN-BRU First Division this coming season

•A one off fee to buy out the Rangers media value. (1million) thus protecting the current contracts in place.

IF WE AGREE THEN WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING

•Play-Offs immediately, based on current format

•A new distribution model with the settlement agreement value protected and future proofed

•An amalgamation of the SPL & SFL

•A more balanced governance model (as circulated)

IF WE AGREE THEN WE REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING

•Play-Offs immediately, based on our format

•A new distribution model with the settlement agreement value protected and future proofed

•An amalgamation of the SPL & SFL

•A more balanced governance model (as circulated)

WHICH WILL DELIVER BENEFITS TO THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

•Immediate cash benefit for all 30 clubs!

•Gate receipt uplift in Division 1

•Potential hospitality & advertising values increase

•Sponsors receive added value through additional exposure

•Scottish Government remain committed to our community strategy

•SFL has more influence at the top table

•Play-Offs restore the sporting meritocracy and deliver additional value

    AND BENEFITS TO SCOTTISH FOOTBALL

•A unified plan presented to the Scottish footballing public which offers real possibilities for the game

•Keeps all 42 clubs together avoiding a divisive SPL2 split

•Deals with the need for sporting integrity with regard to Newco

•Delivers innovation in the form of a single league, Play-Offs and a pyramid plan

•Delivers new value for the game

•Potentially narrows the financial gap between Scottish Premier League & Scottish League

•Shows leadership for the game in Scotland

•Allows fans to engage in the bigger picture

    •A positive media outcome

That's a shambles of a proposal, pretty much blackmail. Dunfermline have already said no to the Newco in the first division and I hope others follow. Now that they're definitely out of the SPL, Scottish football is fucked anyway so they might as well give them a proper punishment.

I'll be interested to see where Naismith and McGregor end up. Those two and possibly Davis are the only ones I can see playing regularly in the PL.

Surely McGregor can do better than going to sit on Liverpool's bench for 95% of every season? People in here were touting him as one of the best keepers in Europe for a time.

He is one of the best keepers in the uk with ease.

Reading this morning that if rangers/newco are not let into the leauge system then at least 20 Scottish clubs could go to the wall very quickly!

Is there any conspiracy theories that rangers and Celtic want this to happen as a way to escape Scottish football. Uefa are only against a move to another leauge if the club has not got one to play in.

Its not really a conspiracy theory. Celtic have been pretty vocal in the past about wanting to play in another - better- league.

I think Club 12 will get into the First Division, it seems the less destructive of all the options. However, Third Division would probably suit me better.

The whole game is fucked anyway. 3 SPL clubs will be in administration by the end of the year.

I said before I would take the third division as the best option.

What I meant in the conspiracy theory is that rangers/newco are pissing about prolonging everything as much as they can so Rangers can get into the bottom leagues in England?

Rangers have missed the cut-off to apply in England anyway. It's March, I think. something as complicated as fitting Rangers in at the right point in the pyramid would need months of work and negotiation. I do agree that now is the right time for Rangers, but it won't be for this season.

I don't think any Scottish club will go to the wall because of missing out on one (large) set of gate receipts, and I don't see Sky not honouring their contract after all the shit they gave ITV Digital.

I liked Clyde's response to the proposals:

The Club has received a set of papers in advance of the SFL meeting on Tuesday. The essential intent behind those papers is to induce the SFL clubs to agree a proposal to allow a Newco to enter the SFL in the 1st Division in exchange for a range of structural changes to the current set up and some small financial inducements. Some of the proposed changes have merit in principle.

The Board believe that any proposals for change should not be rushed, as these have been. They also have to be done by consensus and not through threat or inducement, again, as these have been.

The papers include a proposal to allow a Newco to enter the 1st Division. This is contrary to the rules of the SFL and nothing within the papers justifies this proposal.

As a club owned by its supporters and recovering from having been on the brink of extinction, the Board of Clyde Football Club recognise the damage done to the credibility of Rangers Football Club by its successive owners, and the subsequent impact on staff and supporters. These proposals do nothing to restore that credibility.

It is not for us to become involved in punishment, that is a matter for the SPL and SFA. The SFL clubs are being asked to change their rules so that the SPL and SFA can apply sanctions that fit short term financial interests.

It is not for us to tell any club what they should want for themselves, but to enter anywhere other than the 3rd Division risks Rangers Football Club being burdened with the legacy of commencing its rebuilding in a manner that they later look back on with regret. Rangers Football Club does not need to be handed a competitive advantage, they are more than capable of returning to the SPL via the 3rd Division on their own merit. Rebuilding from the bottom can restore the dignity stripped from the club by its former owners.

The papers use emotive language to threaten a future of financial meltdown and they carry the implication of the destruction of the game should a Newco not be entered in the 1st Division. If things are as bad as indicated then Scottish Football is in a far worse state than is being acknowledged. In which case it is time to accept the bankrupt model needs fixed and not supported and perpetuated on the back of this proposal. The fact that other clubs might face similar financial distress because Rangers Football Club enter the 3rd Division is hardly a reason to compromise the integrity of the SFL and further compromise Rangers Football Club.

Rather than attempting to prepare a soft landing before delivering sanctions, it would be better to contemplate more radical change that might actually underpin financial stability in the long term for clubs that balance their books. Perhaps an amnesty from sanctions for clubs that are forced to face insolvency procedures in the next 2 years as a result of the current turmoil, and an automatic entry to the 3rd Division for any club liquidated and reformed in similar circumstances. This would allow 2 years to properly restructure the Scottish Game for the benefit of all and undo the damage that has been created by the current structure which encourages club directors to trade integrity for cash, and then spend beyond their means, willingly risking the very existence of football clubs. If we could believe that the game could be less self interested long enough to resolve this, then this, and other far better ideas, might be worth contemplating.

SPL clubs that have openly stated their opposition to a Newco being given immediate access to the SPL have taken the position based on their, and at times, their supporters' view of what is the right thing to do, however, the vote has still to be taken and proposals such as these are premature. If the SPL clubs vote as indicated on the basis of the increasingly discredited notion of sporting integrity, it would be questionable if the SFL clubs did otherwise.

The reality is that we are faced with unique circumstances and it would be foolish to pretend otherwise, that probably means that compromise for some is inevitable, and perhaps even worthwhile for everyone in the long term. The solution however is not this hastily cobbled together proposal.

The Board of this club sees no merit whatsoever in adopting this proposal.

It's not just that. It's thier two biggest gates of the year, added sponsorship and advertising revenue, a couple of T.V games and just the general trickle down of cup games and stuff you get with having the Old Firm as a unit in the league.

Peter Martin, who's a pretty well repsected jounro up here, personally told me that he's spoken to two chairmen who say their clubs would be in administration by the end of October without Rangers in the league. Drastic changes will need to be made to avoid that.

Simon...the experiment? There's 120 of History in Scottish Football. I'd hardly call that an experiment.

The game needs to bottom out and be built up from scratch again, and that looks to be what's happening. The SFA, SFL and SPL need to become on unit, with all League's and National Team matters being dealt with by one governing body.

So, the SPL proving once again what an utter farse of an organisation they really are.

The talk today is of them ajourning the meeting today until after the SFA meet next week. Reason being that if the SFA dont let Rangers straight into the First Division, they may let them back into the SPL because they cant afford 3 seasons without Rangers. Utter joke.

Its ridiculous, its an absolute cop-out by the SPL.

Rangers should be getting punished based on what has happened, not based on what the implications will be going forward. That’s just totally blackmailing the SFA into making a decision. It should be nothing to do with them. The reason were in the farce that were in is because there are too many governing bodies all working against each other.

The best thing for rangers is just to go into the third division and be done with it. That way nobody can accuse them of getting an easy ride and their rise back to the top wont be tainted by getting ‘favour’ the sfa/spl. It would shut a lot of people up. And see really, in the grand scheme of things, an extra 2 years is nothing. The time might be better spent building the team back up from the bottom and bleeding in youngsters so theyre ready to make an SPL challenge in a few years time.

And part of the conditions would be to take punishment for previous failings of the old club/company and accept their football debts. So they cant pay thier debts, so they get liquidated and still need to pay them?

SFA is a joke. SPL is a joke. Scottish game is a joke.

    Couple of rumours I've been picking up this week;

    KI is away, 7million.

Jordan Rhodes is a done deal, 4m plus add-ons.

Weve got a centre-half from Bordeaux coming in.

Theres rumblings of DONALD TRUMP of all people looking to take over Aberdeen as his way of giving back to the community up there. That would be something.

7m for Ki seems a bit over-priced to me. Assuming if Rhodes comes in then Hooper or Stokes are out on their ear? I mean surely Celtic aren't going to need much firepower this year?

What I've received word for word from an ITK. Not 100% but worth a fiver at 25/1

On KI: Ki is leaving it’s just his departure location that has to be sorted. QPR heavily rumoured today to have agreed 7m fee with Celtic but we hear Russia has come calling later in the day offering him better terms.

On Rhodes: The young Scotland international striker was scouted probably more than any potential signing in recent memory. Lenny has taken in many of his games and sees an absolute superstar in the making as do the other coaching staff and club scouts. What we have in our favour is one major factor. Young Jordan is a Celtic supporter and that as you all know carries a lot of weight. Yes, we need to sell before we can buy him as we understand the price, we have agreed a 4m fee plus add ons, is a snip based upon potential resale value in many years to come. We have been told this signing will happen.

Getting knocked out in the qualifying stages of the champions leauge constitute as European football. If he joins, (which I highly doubt he will) it will be for 2 seasons max. Would be a stupid move IMO.

Yeah, stupid move for him to play for his boyhood club, put himself in the shop window on a bigger stage, play some european football and strengthen his reputation.

Yeah, stupid move for Celtic to buy a hotly contested prospect for 4 million when they'll no doubt get a bucket-load of goals over a couple of years and sell him on for at least double that down the line.

    Yeah, stupid move.

Stupid move for him not Celtic. Again European football does not constitute to getting pumped in the qualifying stages of the champions leauge every fucking year. Surely the best thing about playing for rangers or Celtic is the old firm games which won't be happening anytime soon.

So unatractive from his point of view IMO. I don't think it will happen either with the rumours the stokes is about to sign a contract today.

Also where has the "integrity" of Scottish football come into the vote today? Fucking mindless. Yeah we are going into administration if this happens but at least we have integrity in our game!

Scottish lower leagues are as corrupt as Italy and the teams are run by fucking morons. Peter Lawell is the only business man left in charge of a football club in Scotland.

I am enjoying the thought of Buckfast and kebab-soaked Loyalists around Belfast emerging out of their damp hovels with hangovers to find out that Rangers have been sent to the 3rd division. Balances up having to see all their fat, gleeful, bigoted faces on the TV last night enjoying their archaic, hate-filled July 12th celebrations.

What should of happened in the first place. More than likely this has just destroyed Scottish football, shame. At least we have our integrity though. Stupid.

    As of yet undecided.

Would love a few play-off matches between the relegated club and the second place in the league below. Will never happen though.

Dundee United have looked very good in the first half there. Johnny Russell's second was perfect, he is some player.

    Anyone else watching?

Enjoy the 6 games cause its over after that mate. The only interesting part of the SPL was the old firm.

Now we are watching the same shit teams, (not Celtic) play each other 4 times a season without the only fixture anyone really gave a fuck about. Seems pretty dead to me. They need to do something fast regarding a restructure and get a bigge league with everyone playing twice.

it's not as big a deal as you make out and you'll be back after a wee while on the naughty step.

Rangers fans are living on the moon in thinking the Universe revolves/ed around them. Get over yourselves. Not as many people give a fuck that you're not in the SPL any more as you thinjk. And that's not a sentiment of malice, rather, indifference. The Scottish product is really no worse or better (Celtic now being in the Group Stages of the Champions League aside) at present - a nice bit of dough will be getting pumped into the lower leagues for a while, there will be a significant restructure like you mention, I'm fairly confident, over the next few years, and tissues out of ASDA are buy one get one free atm

I have said this before about restructure and continually playing the same game a million times a season is shit. There is no fucking way Scottish football can sustain interest from at home let alone outside of it. The over estimation of Celtic's "feat" of getting into the champions leauge groups is beyond hilarious from the green brigade and media sources. Celtic and Ramgers have been abysmal in euro comps for the last ten years and Celtic don't look as fan-fucking-tastic as everyone is saying.

I accept the plight of rangers and stated that the punishment fitted the crime countless times on here along with acknowledgement that we are lucky to even be around. I don't have a bitterness regarding this situation at all. I love Scottish football and it's pretty obvious the way it's going mate.

Not to much the tims at my work seem to think he's top notch and will be more than adequate to come off the bench and play against the likes of Dundee. I think he'll bang in a fair few this year. I'm loving the way common is playing again the guy is pure class when he's training and given a chance. How Levine can leave him out of this Scotland squad is unthinkable.

    yeah it's pretty rank that.

Watt isn't going to be a bench player, if he stays fit, by the way. And this isn't a Simon Donnelly sort of prediction here.

I'm just talking this season like. Do you think he will start ahead of stokes? The guys I know seem to think he's got all the potential and talent just a bit raw.
