    Look at us.

I understand what Alf means about the audiobook. It's almost like it moves too fast. I want to buy the book because there are sections where every single sentence is beautifully constructed but you're onto the next one before you've had a chance to savour it. I'm on my second listen and it's easy to phase out, but I feel that some sentences would be funnier written down where you can really appreciate them. They'd also work better in a show because you could pace them out.

Yeah, I wondered whether it would be a really different experience reading it as opposed to listening to it. Whenever I'm jogging along listening to it, I'll hear a line that was really funny but the moment seems to pass pretty quick because of the sheer pace of the material. There's so many lines that I think are brilliant, but I completely forget them 5 minutes later. Oh well, guess I'll have to listen to them again. My favourite chapter so far has been the description of the fight with Jed Maxwell.

My wife genuinely asked me for a power drill for Christmas. I hope I don't get the same one back, minus the power pack.

Now we all know the foot-piercing scene. Well check oot what happened in Perth yesterday:

    http://www.thecourier.co.uk/News/Per...-in-perth.html

Neighbours told of their horror after rushing from their Oakbank Road flats when they heard the 20-year-old youth worker's frantic screams.

The woman, named locally as Kirsty Scott, was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with the spike still embedded in her chin on Monday.

She had spent half an hour stuck on the fence during desperate efforts to free her.

After undergoing emergency surgery, she remained there in intensive care last night.

Firefighters had to use a hack saw to cut her free because the iron prong was too deeply embedded to risk using mechanical cutting equipment.

The trauma team was dispatched from Ninewells to aid the recovery effort. The woman was conscious throughout her ordeal.

Neighbours said she had slipped on the pathway from the Oakbank Road flats as she was leaving for work at the youth service base in the town centre's Scott Street.

The woman's downstairs neighbour, Graeme Johnson, said: ''It was just before 9am and I heard a lot of commotion.

''I went out and the woman was on her knees on the step — I initially thought she was just leaning over to speak to someone down below but realised how serious it was.

''Her boyfriend was there, and another woman, and they appeared to be helping so I just went in and called the ambulance.

''I didn't think there was much else I could do because I'm not great with blood.''

Mr Johnson said he had earlier put salt on the step but it had probably iced over again because of the rain.

Another neighbour said: ''It was horrific —she was screaming and couldn't move herself.

''The spike had gone through the bottom of her chin but we're not sure if it had come up into her mouth or not.

''I went out to see if there was anything I could do but there were already people there and then the fire engine turned up.

''If it had been slightly to the side either way, I think she could have been killed.''

It is understood the woman was accompanied to Ninewells by her partner.

A senior staff member at the Scott Street youth services centre said Miss Scott is ''very popular, both with the staff and the young people she works with''.

He said: ''Firstly, our thoughts are with Kirsty, and we just hope she makes a full recovery. It is an awful thing to happen and we just hope she will be okay. Kirsty is involved with health issues and she is the first port of call for people when they come in to see us.''

He added: ''She helped set up the smoking cessation group and goes out to do school talks. She's great to work with and she is very well liked by everyone.''

An ambulance spokesman said: ''The trauma team was dispatched and the woman was uplifted to Ninewells accident and emergency. The patient was conscious and breathing throughout.''

A fire service spokesman described the operation to free the stricken victim as ''delicate'' but successful.

Heard it ever since a second series was mentioned.

    http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012-...rtridge-series

This seems to suggest the second series is being made for Sky Atlantic rather than online. But as far as my knowledge goes Sky Atlantic are picking up the online series and turning it into a TV series.

Also, Partridge Movie NEWS: Appaz they are writing it now and it'll be shown in 2013.

One of my favourite bits is Alan questioning whether Michael could live as a dolphin. Michael subtly attempting to catch a hypothetical fish in his mouth is immense.

I rewatched KMKY and the 2 series of I'm Alan Partridge the other month. Excellent stuff. KMKY has a lot of great moments which I tend to forget. If they were do another series, I'd like to see him back in the role of chat show host.

I enjoy listening to the commentaries for I'm Alan Partridge - there's something really funny about hearing Steve Coogan pissing himself at his own performance.

I've just finished the Audio book for the 3rd time and watched mid-morning matters again.

I love my comedy nearly as much as Simon, and I must say, as much as I love the Office and Gervais/Pilkington. As funny as Only Fools and Python is etc. etc etc...

Partridge is for my money the greatest comedy character of all time.

The Partridge clan just keep on giving. He's started updating his Facebook with photos from down the years, captioned.

    http://www.facebook.com/AlanPartridgeOfficial

Even the plugs for the various incarnations of his autobiography had some thought put into them, I really enjoyed this:

Buy my autobiography from Play.com, and get a copy of my driving licence as a free gift. This was their idea, the photo is invalid and some of the details are wrong.

That will be amazing. I've wanted to see a proper return to TV for years. I caught a glimpse of Coogan seemingly doing Partridge in a general advert for Sky Atlantic's upcoming comedy season, but I didn't want to get my hopes up.

I have "I, Partridge" on CD for the car and the audio book for my iPod. No matter how many times I listen to it, it's still terrific. I think the character deserved to be in the final of the tournament in the entertainment forum, but I realise that he doesn't have that universal appeal.

Being relatively new to Partridge, and seeing them both back to back, I thought the second series was better. I'll need to watch them both again as it's been a while now. Need to finish watching through Arrested Development again first (funnier the second time).

It never won me over completely. It's a nice change of pace from the norm but I never got why it was rated as highly.

I, Partridge on the other hand is brilliance. Quote after quote.

Arrested Development is just chock-full of great jokes and is incredibly clever, but I never felt like I cared about any of the characters the way you do for even someone as unsympathetic as Alan.

Wow. This is the first time I've heard ANYONE have anything negative to say about the first or second series. I think it's perfect.

I have just started watching AD, I am up to episode 12 of the first series. I'm enjoying it but it is not blowing me away.

Coogan is on Graham Norton tonight, I assume as himself, but I hope as Partridge.

I understand it's a lot of peoples' favourite. I enjoy it for the most part, but it does become very samey and very one-note. It's difficult to explain, because a lot of things I can say I don't like about it: it's so one-note, there's no character development, it's the same jokes in every episode, it's dour etc. could easily be applied to a lot of the shows I really love.

Jason Bateman's character is just so exasperated constantly, it's exhausting and it gets old and there's hardly ever any payoff. I feel sorry for him to a point before giving up and just thinking he's a fucking loser and losing sympathy.

Buster gets old very quickly. LOL, you're retarded and you fancy an old bird, a bit, but maybe not, or something, and you're a mummy's boy, and you're thick and...k.

Likewise Gob, I just can't find a lot of what he does funny. I'll stop here on the character analysis (if you can call it that), because it'll become a bit similar and I'll end up slagging off Jeffrey Tambor, which would be sacrilege, frankly.

I guess it's just the tone of the series that leaves me cold. It's so, so dour without much hint of any balance or payoff. Again, I do quite like it and followed it for much of the first season, fleeted in and out of season 2, but it's just not for me. I'm not bandwaggoning against any popular opinion either, it just honestly eventually bores me.

"Dour" would be one of the last words I'd use to describe it, personally.

but it clearly is. The storyline and the emotions and the overall tone is dour. Personally speaking.

See I've never given a shit about any of this stuff in a comedy, as long as its funny. And I think Arrested Development is hilarious. Maybe it's just a matter of a differing sense of humour. Do you you like The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother? Cause I think they, and most other American shows, are awful. Not my kind of humour at all.

I thought it was great. The format took a bit of getting used to initially and the swimming pool bit was so-so, but from the City Hall bit onwards it really picked up. Some terrific quotes and facial expressions.

That's pretty much word-for-word what everyone on here said about the second series of IAP when it was broadcast and that has now gone down as a classic.

Hopefully I can find somewhere to download this later.

It's been rumoured and talked about for some time, but it's now definite: The Alan Partridge Movie is coming, and it'll be in cinemas next year.

Backed by StudioCanal, BBC Films and the BFI Film Fund, the film will see Steve Coogan reprising his most famous role, as Partridge tries to "salvage his public career while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events".

Shooting on the film is set to start in January, from a script by Coogan, Peter Baynham and Armando Ianucci. The film will be directed by Declan Lowney.

The Alan Partridge Movie is set for release in August 2013.

I wonder if that is a flashback...no grey hair and slightly longer than in MMM. Then again it could be his latest attempt to appear younger.

Someone was on an Empire podcast a few weeks back and slipped in the fact that he'd read the script. I can't remember who it was now. Anyway, they said that the script was really good.

Cool I see Sean Pertwee is in this, I wonder if he will make it till the end of this film?

As for the Partridge age and look, I'm guessing that it will be toned down a bit for a wider audience appeal. In fact apart from the wig, there is no age make up on Steves face at all.

I'm listening to I, Partridge on the way to work again.

I think my favourite Partridge moment is still "you pull your foot off" "mine's not stuck on a spike"

That or in the movie when he pangs Simon in the face with a fire extinguished screaming "you step to me?!"

IMO the autobiography is the best bit of Partridge. Just perfect from start to finish. More or less every single line is quotable.
