Larry playing George was great. Also Jerry's take on "Acting Without Acting"..

    That being said...

Lads, the missus wants to watch all the eps this season to do with the Seinfeld reunion - but not the others... Someone tell me which ones they are so I can download them?

I had em all, but was deleting as I went to save hard drive space

This just in. Curb's coming back for an 8th season. Statement from Larry David himself: "After much soul searching - and by the way, it was nowhere to be found - I have decided to do another season of Curb. I look forward to the end of shooting, when I can once again resume the hunt for my elusive soul." Kudos to the fans who've stuck with Curb all these years.

    Back of the net.

I hope the rumours about Gervais being in this season aren't true. Don't need him sucking the funny out of this show.

I'd like to see Gervais make some minor appearances. As long as Larry David is writing it, it will be gold.

    Really?

You just know the type of character he's going to play. Coogan was fantastic in Curb. Gervais is going to be predictably cringe-worthy, and not in a good way.

If he has to be in this I hope he plays himself.

Great news about the new season. Even if Gervais is in it playing his usual cringe-worthy character i doubt it will spoil the brilliance of Curb.

They said in the video I posted that 8 of the episodes are filmed in New York. So at least 2 episodes will still be the focus of LA but I would imagine all the main cast of characters will still be involved. Susie and Leon were all over the place in the video.

I think it's been quite a slow start although both episodes obviously had a load of good stuff in them. The second episode was the closest thing to a traditional sit-com plot as I've ever seen Curb go for - even down to a couple of genuine slapstick moments. It's a bit odd.

I'm hoping the show shifts gear when they get to New York.

I never did fall in love with this show. I like it, I can dip in and out of it happily, but it's never gripped me. The first episode of the new series was good, although I didn't understand why exactly the dad was mad at Larry for the whole tampon thing.

'Fuck me like Israel fucks my people.'

I just love Larry's absolute lack of shame about everything. I also loved Funk today. It's not often that most people get to see what secular Jews have to put up with in terms of the obnoxious friend who decides he's going to be VERY Jewish for a few years until no one can stand him anymore...

So been watching a few episodes of this here and there and I must say I really like Larry as a single man. The episodes just seem to have so much more flow for some reason.

Anywho, HURRY THE FUCK UP LARRY AND GET A NEW SEASON PUT TOGETHER YOU FUCK!

Just watched Clear History, and any Curb fans should definitely check it out. It's like a weird Curb side story. LD is LD and the rest of the cast is awesome (Danny McBride, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Amy Ryan, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson, Bill Hader, JB Smooth)

Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will return for Season 9 on HBO, the premium cabler announced Tuesday.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of ‘Curb’ and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming.

Asked why he decided to come back, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

The hit comedy stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. With 80 episodes to date, the show is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series. David also starred in and co-wrote the 2013 HBO Films presentation “Clear History.”

No details on a Season 9 premiere date or additional casting have been announced at this time. The show hasn’t aired new episodes since 2011, but back in 2012, HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler told reporters at the annual Television Critics Assn. press tour that David “essentially has carte blanche with us … And when he wants to come back and do ‘Curb,’ we’d be thrilled.”

When I saw this thread was bumped I thought maybe, just maybe, it's the big news we've been waiting for. And it is. Awesome.

I will say that having a 6-year gap between seasons will be a challenge. Everyone will be noticeably older and there'll need to be some sort of addressing of what's been happening in the meantime. But I trust Larry to deliver. Season 8 was really strong (The Bi-Sexual episode was one of my all time favorites).

    Can't wait for this.

This is simply fantabulous. Absolutely incredimazing. I fucked up and didnt get into Curb until nearly the end of its run. But now i get to properly participate in the part where we eagerly await the next season.

I've been rewatching the series for the first time, and just completed Season 2. I was quite surprised that Marty Funkhouser doesn't appear at all in those first two seasons. I felt like he was a series regular from the very start.

Yeah the Funkman wasn't there for a while. Richard Lewis was in that role a lot more in that first couple of years. I've been watching it very slowly, an episode or two a week from the start. It's just a timeless classic.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm watching this for only the first time - it just always passed me by, though I don't think the first few seasons had a prominent showing on UK TV when they first aired (or maybe I'm thinking of another show). I've just finished season 3 after seeing that the whole series was available on NOW TV and I'm loving it. I had no idea who Richard Lewis was before now, but he immediately became one of my favourites as soon as he demanded an answer from Larry by sundown. Susie's rants are also amazing.

So this is a good show? I'm almost done with Narcos (which is phenomenal though a bit dreery) and I only have the time/attention span to fully invest in one show at a time. I'm due for a comedy and I was thinking about Vice Principals, should I go with this instead?

This is one of the best comedy shows ever, IMO. Start at the beginning of course. Classic scenes on classic scenes. It's very different than Seinfeld but the same type of humor, so assuming you aren't some anti-Seinfeld freak you should watch this.

Finale was rather good in my opinion. Supposedly a next season is already in the works. The only criticism I will give is Larry needs to definitely get some comeuppance next year for a lot of the shit he did this year and got away with.

thought the finale was great, and the season overall ended up being really solid. I do think there was some rust after the long layoff. some of the exchanges throughout the season felt a little forced or unnatural, and some of the episode endings didn't hit quite as sharply as they used to. so it wasn't quite as flawless as most of the previous seasons have been. but still a hoot to watch. in a time when pure comedies on tv aren't in a strong point (dramas and dramedies rule the day IMO), this could be the best pure comedy show of the 2017-2018 tv season.

Quick question. Was this the first time Susie cheated on Jeff? I can't recall anything previously but this could be an interesting arc to watch. Jeff has been a shit to her for years and this season seems to be Susie deciding she is going to make Jeff her bitch.

Petty? The dude tried to change the whole show, had his cousins trash his house, was a dick about saying thank you for allowing him to do this, etc. He was trying to do a nice gesture to the film crew by doing the paint ball and accidentally shot the guy in the throat and even tried to get them to go to the wedding. He wasn't malicious about things. I find it more of the other people's fault than his. It wasn't his fault that the nephew fell in love with a hooker. He was trying to cure his issue.

Larry was the producer, writer and creator of the show. If he would have manned up in the beginning none of it would have happened.

The hooked thing is wrong on many levels you nutter. Of course a teenage boy is going to develop feelings for the first person he has sex with.

Ted and Cheryl happening was not only foreshadowed but happened before most of those events.

Ok and you are saying his house getting trashed by those guests isn't wrong? Him trying to do something nice for the crew is a bad thing? Nothing he did was malicious and he was trying to help others.

Manned up? His life was on the line. So he wanted to appease everyone so he didn't get killed. That's hardly not "manning up"

You are taking the manned up out of context here a bit. I meant manned up to Miranda.

but if he did that it might cost Miranda being part of the musical which in turn might turn the Fatwa back on.

It wasn't the best season of Curb, but it had its moments and I'm glad we got to see another 10 episodes. I think Larry is probably done with the show. The ending felt very Seinfeld. Like they were all sitting there arguing with each other after everything has turned to shit.

He has said he's considering another season, and that if he does it there wouldn't be another long layoff. My money right now would be on another season happening next within the next 2 years.

For Larry's style of comedy and with all the Hollywood madness plus PC gaining even more steam I am sure ideas are already rumbling around his head for a whole new season.

Nah, if season 10 doesn't come together I think he would be fine with ending it like that. I think he is over the idea of his series finale ending on any particular note. He takes it season by season and if he decides not to come back, that's that.

It's not like it was a real cliffhanger about whether the Muslim murdered him or not, lol, I think it's safe to say he survived.

I honestly think he set up enough underlying storylines that he is planning on doing season 10. Seems as though it was written that way on purpose.

Amazing news - this is coming back and really soon from the sounds of it.

    Quote Originally Posted by EW

HBO announced on Thursday that it has renewed Larry David’s misanthropic comedy for a tenth season. Season 10 is expected to begin filming in the spring. “As I’ve said many times,” said David in a statement, “when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so.”

Added HBO programming president Casey Bloys, “We are thrilled that Larry will be back with his uniquely acerbic wit and comedic sensibility.”

While the news comes sooner than perhaps expected, it isn’t surprising: David told EW before the launch of season 9 he had such a fun time filming the comedy’s return episodes that he was “strongly considering” doing more. And earlier this month, executive producer Jeff Schaffer hinted, “We are talking about talking about it. I promise if we do it again, it won’t be as long of a wait.”

Starring David as a heightened version of himself, Curb launched in 2000, with subsequent seasons airing every year or two through season 8 in 2011. The show then went on indefinite hiatus, with HBO announcing n 2016 that David was reviving the show. Season 9, which concluded on Dec. 3, reunited the cast of David, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman, and JB Smoove, as well as featuring such guest stars as Elizabeth Banks, Lauren Graham, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Nick Offerman, and Bryan Cranston.

Why did the announcement for another season happen so relatively quickly this time around? “Before we came back it was, ‘You’ve been away for so long,'” Schaffer tells EW. “Now it’s ‘You’re coming back so soon?’ The TV scheduling Gods are very hard to please! The truth is, Larry had so much fun last season that he wants to do it again. Usually, at the end of a shoot, he’s absolutely sure he’s never doing it again. But this season was different, during our last days of shooting he was already thinking about reloading.”

Schaffer also said that that entire cast will return and hinted that perhaps they will be able to “catch up with a few more old friends from the Curb universe.”

What can he reveal about the 10th season? “I wish I could tell you everything about next year because that would mean that we’re actually done writing it. But that is not the case. Here’s one thing I can tell you that did not happen. Larry wasn’t killed. He does not come back like in the movie Ghost and make sweet love to Cheryl at a Brentwood Color Me Mine.”

I re-watched season 9 and it was wonderful. I was a little down on it compared to other seasons when it first aired, but now I think it's right up there with the best of them. Funkhouser was in it a lot and great as always. Although it sounds morbid I'm looking forward to see if/how Larry makes light of his character's death on the show. Such a shame we don't get another season of the Funk man.

It will be funny when this returns for season 10 and Larry and Richard Lewis are in their 70s still dating and doing all this shit. These old decrepit fucks and their 30 year old girlfriends, lol. It doesn't look right but who cares with writing this good.

Yea. Watch season 9, it's great. The new season is coming next year, I believe.

ok granted I'm slightly stoned but the latest episode about the trip to cabo "You're Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About Mickey" was one of the great curb episodes of all time. epic episode. it was 40 minutes long and fucking hysterical.

See, I was stoned watching the first episode of the new season and I was crying laughing. The subsequent episodes are also funny, but I didn't have quite the same reaction watching them.

I like Jeff Garlin, but his improv on the show usually amounts to him repeating someone else's line in a different way.

They seem to be packing more plots into each episode this year with longer runtimes, and I'm all for it. I've liked all of them so far but the Cabo episode felt like the one that really deserved the long runtime and multitude of plotlines.

Cabo episode might be my favorite episode in the last two seasons for sure. Maybe since season 7

This past episode with Jon Hamm and Kaitlin Olson was top notch. I am loving this season so far.

Leon has been on fire this season. So many fantastic one liners.

The quality is so good. I did a run through of each season recently and the show only gets better over time. This season has been particularly slick with its plotting and how they bring the jokes full circle by the end of the episode.
